This is a great computer but they price themselves out of the market every single time.

Maybe out of your market but it's still well within other peoples realm of possibility - you are still bragging about your 2 year old soundcard, video card and your $700 celeron PC.

Some of us need higher end systems to do our jobs, other can afford $3000 computers for their homes. Those are the people these systems are intended for. If you can't/won't buy one apple doesn't want to hear from you. They'd rather make $500 selling one machine to one person than $500 selling 10 machines to 10 people.

Can you please take your "it's too expensive, apple is doomed" whinning somewhere people want to hear it.

i'm sure they'll have a new powerbook by august, the 15 in redesign at least, there is no way they'd release new desktops by then without mobiles to match

some people purchase desktops and laptops at the same time, ie business men, there is no way they'd purchase a high end desktop and an inferior mobile solution
