Treme?s Michael Huisman is back at HBO with a recurring role on Game Of Thrones. Producers are keeping his role under wraps, but I hear he is replacing another actor on the show.

I guess I should have written "replaced Ed Skrein as Daario Naharis," either way, no word on why it happened.

I know it's bound to happen on shows of this scale and with this amount of characters, but I always hate it when actors get changed. I have no doubt this guy will do a good job, but jeez I can't even imagine confusion with people, most of them failed to realize the new Mountain was actually Mountain when they replaced him in season 2. I also wonder if they'll announce who's going to replace Wilko Johnson as Ilyn Payne.

Let's just hope this is the last news of this kind.

IndieWire blog Shadow and Act is reporting that Angolan actor Hoji Fortuna has joined the cast of Game of Thrones. Unfortunately, the role is being kept under-wraps for now (shocker!).

Fortuna has worked mostly in African cinema up until now, although he did have one brief appearance on US TV in the short-lived series Pan-Am.

Fortuna has been teasing on his Twitter and Facebook that he will be heading to Croatia to film sometime soon. That narrows down his role to one in the King?s Landing or Daenerys storylines. Speculation points to Brown Ben Plumm, a sellsword captain who Dany encounters in her travels. There are a number of other more minor characters that Fortuna could play though and there is always the chance that he is a newly created character.

HBO has confirmed to us that Icelandic strongman Haf??r ?Thor? Bj?rnsson has joined the cast of Game of Thrones for the show?s fourth season, and will be taking over the role of the Mountain, Ser Gregor Clegane.

Though the 6?9?-tall performer doesn?t have any professional acting experience, he has racked up an impressive list of accolades. At only 24 years old, Thor has won the title of ?Iceland?s Strongest Man? for the last three years in a row, and placed third in the 2012 ?World?s Strongest Man? competition. WiC sources are reporting that Thor was on set in Belfast earlier this August, and that he is currently in Dubrovnik with the rest of the cast, preparing to film scenes for season four.

Winter is Coming has discovered that former League Of Gentlemen actor Mark Gatiss will be playing the role of banker, Tycho Nestoris in season four of HBO's Game Of Thrones. Fans have been speculating as to who Gatiss would be playing since his casting was announced back in July, but I don't think anyone guessed that it'd be Nestoris -- a representative of the Iron Bank of Braavos, notorious for funding the enemies of those who fail to repay their loans. The character was actually introduced already at this point in Martin's source novels, and it's likely they have plans to feature him fairly prominently in the show if an actor the caliber of Gatiss has been cast.

Lord Yohn Royce is the head of House Royce of the Vale. He gets his nick name "Bronze Yohn" from the thousands year old armor he wears made up of bronze scales inscribed with runes.

In an interview with the Irish Film & Television Network, Jane McGrath was asked about her upcoming work. Here?s how the conversation went:

Do you have any other upcoming roles you can tell us about?

At the moment, I?m up and down to Belfast on ?Game of Thrones?. I?m not even allowed to talk to my friends about it and can?t be giving anything away! My character is beyond the Wall and it was stunning. When you?re on set you feel like you?re actually there. It?s incredible!

Are you a Wildling?

Yes, I?m a Wildling!

More news from the Vale! According to her CV, Paola Dionisotti has joined the cast of Game of Thrones as Lady Anya Waynwood for the show?s fourth season.

The actress is best known for her work with the Royal Shakespeare Company, most recently in productions of King John and Richard III. On British television, Dionisotti played recurring roles on Harbour Lights and Forever Green, and guest-starred on programs such as Doctors, Midsomer Murders, and Poirot.

Lady Waynwood (spelled Waywood on the CV, likely a mistake) is the head of her house, and sworn to House Arryn of the Vale, much like Bronze Yohn Royce whose casting was revealed last week. Similar to Royce, she was not present in A Storm of Swords, but it appears that the lords and ladies of the Vale are making their collective presence known early.

In other casting news, Gabrielle Dempsey will be playing the part of an Innkeeper?s Daughter in the first episode of season four, according to her CV. A 2010 graduate of the Central School of Speech and Drama, this will be Dempsey?s first television role.

There are a few inns in the book that forms the basis of season four, and so it?s not clear which innkeeper?s daughter Dempsey might be playing. The most notable inn is visited by Arya and the Hound but the first episode of the season seems far too early.

"More deaths this season than any other," said Kit Harrington on season 4 of Game of Thrones. "You'd think they'd turn the deaths down but they don't. They realize that's a successful option so they're just killing more people than we've ever killed."

Game of Thrones is an odd thing for me. Every season seems to move so slowly and stories don't seem to develop, but I still seem to love it and crave it. The Red Wedding was by far the best episode of the show. I hope this season sees some of the stories progress more and someone takes a shot at the throne and kills off that punk Geoffrey.

EDIT: Syanide, your statement about them incorporating 2 books seems to be what I was hoping for. Since you seem to have a knowledge of the books, do you think we'll see more happen this season since they are incorporating 2 books?

Sorry, I wasn't clear. They're not covering two books in season 4, they're finishing the third book (season 3 covered 2/3 of the third book, so they still have the last third of the book to cover), but judging from the casting information, they're already introducing some characters from books 4 and 5.

I agree season 3 had some amazing moments, but yeah, I think it was pretty noticeable it moved quite slowly. Too bad, then again, if they tried doing the entire book in one year, they'd have to cut too much of the stuff out. Either way, I'm hoping they introduce some storylines from later books, even though the last part of book 3 is really, really packed, some of the characters have almost run out of storylines from that book.

    • Nvidia GeForce NOW gains support for seven more games as discounts continue by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe There's a brand-new update rolling out to Nvidia's GeForce NOW streaming service, and like every week, that means more games have received support on the platform. This week's drop has additions like Aphelion and Pro Cycling Manager 26 attached to it. Don't forget that the GeForce NOW summer sale is still active too. This limited-time offer drops the 12-month Performance membership from $99.99 to $64.99, saving members $35. At the same time, the 12-month Ultimate membership is currently going for $129.99, dropping the price by $70 from the original $199.99. Moreover, Nvidia reiterated that support for GOG single sign-in and game library is incoming this summer, joining stores like Steam, Ubisoft Connect, Battle.net, and Xbox. "Connect supported game store accounts and stream titles with GeForce RTX power. Games that include cloud-save functionality help keep progress intact across devices," added the company. "Start a game on one screen, pick up where playtime left off on another, and spend less time managing installs and storage space." Here are the games joining GeForce NOW's supported list this week: Embers of the Uncrowned Demo (New release on Steam, available 13) Pro Cycling Manager 26 (New release on Steam, available June 15) Aphelion (Steam) Citizen Sleeper (Epic Game Store, Free from June 18-25) Megastore Simulator (Steam) OPERATOR (Steam) Super Meat Boy 3D (Xbox, available on Game Pass) Keep in mind that, unlike subscription services like Game Pass or EA Play, a copy of a game must be owned by the GeForce NOW member (or at least have a license via PC Game Pass) to start playing via Nvidia's cloud servers. There is also a limit to how many hours subscribers can use the service per month, with extra time being purchasable in chunks.
