I'll give my thoughts of the Season 5 finale:

Stannis: I don't think he's dead. I think Brienne spared him, not able to go through with the execution.

Sansa and Theon/Reek: I think they'll continue to try and escape but Ramsay will hunt them down. I think Theon will sacrifice himself to allow Sansa to flee, and then she'll meet up with Brienne.

Jon Snow: I think he's dead, but I think that Melisandre will now think that Jon Snow is the actual rightful king and use her power to bring him back to life.

Araya: I think she's undergoing another test/punishment for the murder she committed, but she'll survive.

New King's Guard: I think he's The Mountain, as we didn't see him die.

Daenerys: I'm not too sure, but I think she'll be held captive again.

But I need someone to root for. I need someone I can, at least marginally, relate to or empathize with.

I find myself agreeing with this. And I just mean personally. That's the reason I stopped reading the books. While the story telling is great and all that I found out with these books (I didn't know this about me before) that I personally need someone to root for, follow (well, I also need the story to move faster, hehe). So I know that a lot of people love the books but I found out that they are just not for me. Must be becuase I got acustomed to reading so many thrillers.

WOW! I was not expecting that ending although I fully expect the red headed woman to bring him back to life with the lords light :D

I felt that the whole Stannis plot was very rushed though and a pretty crap way to end his story.

This seasons content should have spanned two seasons... nuff said

The thing is, they can't really say he is coming back as it would spoil the ending/cliffhanger then :p

Yeah I guess. But it seems pretty clear that even Kit says "i'm not coming back"  doesn't get much more clear than that? And for what, next season "haha troll face, I lied" ? lol.

Also, the dude cut his hair, I know wiggs can be used, but imo that was his way of getting rid of that character?

He could have been told to lie.

I just find it very hard to believe that they have killed of that character for good, they built him up so much with all that he has done and there was a lot more to do with him in future episodes, without him, the wall, rest of the nights watch just seem pointless with no purpose especially with Sam, Gilly + the baby no longer being there either.

Also, surely the red headed woman must have returned to the wall for a reason, who is she going to serve now? I can't imagine her serving the likes of the king, Boltons, Khalesi etc. She certainly saw something in Snow or was at least interested in him for something.

Yeah fair shout about the hair but like you said, they could use a wig/hair extensions, he didn't have much cut of either.

Oh I want to believe, specially because none of it makes sense as you point out. Problem is, I don't think show producers would lie? (Is there are history of producers lying?) I mean, it's one thing they would say "We don't know". But saying "he's not coming back" Can't be more thorough than that.

Frankly there's nothing in the producers statement that actually confirms it to be definite, and kit might legitimately think his character is dead if they haven't told him otherwise yet (similar to how shows may not tell cast members about their deaths until very close to filming those specific episodes).

On the other hand, all men must die, right? :p

99.9% of the characters on this show are just terrible, terrible people that

everyone wants to see die. Every now and again one of them gets it.... but

most of the time it's the people we like that get it. At this rate, the only

survivors are going to be the insane folks, of which there are a TON.

I've really enjoyed the show up to this point, but as has been said many

times, we're quickly getting to the point where I'm just not going to care

about the cast, anymore. What do we have left?

A Whimpering King.

Incest Royalty.

Torture Porn Royalty.

A pimp.

Liches with an undead army.

Etc.

For likeable characters?

A couple of Stark girls who will never be the same again.... and may become unlikable.

The only reliable awesome character is the Imp. They kill him, I'm done. OH, and about

Snow... where the HELL was the damn wolf??? I was so looking for him to bite off some

heads.

Pretty much what spenser said.

They can't even say we are not sure yet as even that statement tells use there is a chance that he will come back and spoil the cliffhanger.

When do they start filming season 6 or have they already started?

And yeah, I was kind of hoping for the wolf to show up and wipe them all out :D Only problem is, if Snow really is dead, they will likely kill the wolf.... :(

There is always a chance that they throw the body over the wall as a final insult and he gets reanimated by the white walker "king" and becomes his lieutenant.  That would be pretty bad if they killed him and now have to deal with him and an army at the wall.

I think he's dead for good. He said the producer told him its permanent.mplus he cut his hair android getting ready for movie roles. As much as I like the show, I think they are getting gimmicky for killing main characters for for the heck of it. Now, for True Detective season 2!

    • Are they marketed as an entry into astronomy or astrophotography? I do astrophotography. With big rigs, lots of computers, cables and headaches. I love it. And by learning this ridiculously complex hobby, I’ve learned about the objects I’m shooting. Astronomy followed from photography.
    • Microsoft confirms Recycle Bin bug across all versions of Windows by Usama Jawad A couple of days ago, we reported that the latest Patch Tuesday update has seemingly resulted in a lot of issues for many users, including OneDrive and Dropbox access problems, BitLocker recovery lockouts, and BSODs. Although Microsoft is yet to acknowledge these bugs, it has confirmed another, relatively smaller issue across all supported versions of Windows. In an update on its Windows Release Health Dashboard, Microsoft has confirmed that after installing June's Patch Tuesday update (KB5094126), you'll experience unexpected behavior when leveraging Recycle Bin. Basically, when you attempt to delete an item from the Recycle Bin, the confirm dialog will show you the internal file name of that content rather than the actual name. For example, the file may be named abc.png, but the confirm dialog will ask if you're sure that you want to permanently delete $Rxxxxx.png from the Recycle Bin. This is pretty much it for the scope of the bug itself; it just displays the wrong name in the confirm dialog. The correct name will be shown in the list view of the Recycle Bin and if you restore the file, it will return with the correct name as well. This issue affects pretty much all supported versions of Windows client and server, including: Client: Windows 11, version 26H1; Windows 11, version 25H2; Windows 11, version 24H2; Windows 11, version 23H2; Windows 10, version 22H2; Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2021; Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2019; Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB 2016 Server: Windows Server 2025; Windows Server 2022; Windows Server 2019; Windows Server 2016; Windows Server 2012 R2; Windows Server 2012 As things currently stand, Microsoft is working on a concrete solution that will be released in a "future" Windows update. It remains to be seen if the firm will wait till the next Patch Tuesday or roll out an out-of-band (OOB) fix. The good news is that commercial customers can deploy a workaround right now, but they will have to reach out to Microsoft Support for Business for additional details.
    • They said by this time everyone will have flying cars. WELL...
    • A study by physicist Henry Tye of Cornell University suggests that the universe may not expand forever. Instead, it could eventually stop expanding, begin contracting and end in a "Big Crunch" roughly 20 billion years from now. Maybe not as we now know that time can flow backwards.
    • Of course. Simply reverse the polarity.
