The only way to get traps is to buy them or drops? I need them to get for Hope/Light/Fang weapons.

Or dismantle a starred genji glove, but I don't recommend that. I also don't recommend buying. Kill adamantoise/tortoise until you get a drop. Max out a Kain's Lance for Fang and dismantle to get 3 more. Repeat again and you'll have 5 total. By then, you should have another drop cuz you'll have needed to farm like 2 million gil to do it a 2nd time, so you'll most likely have 6 or more.

Adamantoise, Adamantortoise, Long Gui all drop Traps. 5% drop rate from Long Guis, 1% from the Adams' Use Connoissuers Catalog when fighting them, not Collectors as it is their "RARE" drop.

They can be bought but it is a waste of money, 2,000,000 gil for 1 trap from the R&D shop.

The best thing is to farm the Adamantoise in Eden because it is right next to a save point, you can kill it and they drop Platnium Ingots (normal) and Trapzahedron (rare). Kill, save, reload game and go again.

Until you get a good stragedy down, they can be very unforgiving and tough. Death trick is one way you can take em down fast, but I've gotten it down to a science with my group of Fang(L), Vanille, Hope and can kill them in about 2 minutes a pop, save and reload (no summons).

Ingots sell for 150,000gil per so it is the best way to get money in the game if you get good drop rates.

as I mentioned this morning however I had very crappy luck haha.

They also are worth 40,000 CP and 80,000 with Growth Egg so you can max out your roles if you keep goin for it.

lighting should be leveling as RAV first, COM 2nd, MED 3rd and just with normal fighting you should be able to cap all 3 roles by the end of every chapter without ever stopping to farm(exception is the very end of roles 9 and 10 and you don't get 10 till after you beat the last boss)

if you are playing with snow then COM first, RAV 2nd, SEN 3rd.

don't know who your third is though :)

the most common group dynamic that is used based on how the story progresses if you never sub anyone out after chapter 9. then it is Lightning(leader) Fang, Hope I believe.

I stuck with this the entire game, and I only switch out for certain fights because of strengths each one has.

Fang(leader), Lightning, Hope for all mobs and missions unless I die. Then I switch it up for Vanille instead of lightning as she is better at buffing and healing and a great RAV as well for getting that break gauge up (i hate that they changed it from break to stagger, and the role names suck in english too)

Thanks for the answers guys. I have another question. Do you get all accessories from mission rewards, treasures and from the shop? Asking because I don't know if there are accessories that you can get only upgrading.

The weapon upgrades count for the trophy too?

Edited by KoL

oh no!!! I missed 7 somewhere! I just found 8, need to run back :(

Don't worry about doing them in order.. sometimes a mission will randomly be during a route. my best tip when doing missions is try to unlock all the silver ones, those are teleporters, and can help out SO much

KoL, you can't miss any items in the game. nothing is missable. but do not sell or dismantle any of the elemental charms until you have upgraded them. they are about the only acc you cannot buy in stores.

you dont have to have all acc on you or all weapons on you, you just have to have had them ONCE ever in the game and the trophy will count them.

I myself made a check list and I'm just missing the ones that require dark matters to upgrade. so 4-5 left. Weapons however require traps.

you only need to make 1 Ultimate weapon per character, so 6 total. all ultimate weapons look identical so even tho each person has i believe 7-8 weapons, only their 2nd parts are unique. 3rd phases for all weapons look identical but carry over stats from 2nd tier upgrades of course.

so pick the one you really want to make ultimate asap so you dont upgrade all of them to tier 2 star as it is not required to star them unless upgrading them to the next tier.

Cool thanks a lot.

Alright.

I tried over 10 times with the "death" trick on the NeoChou, and... NOTHING. I even tried upgrading Vanille's weapon before doing this, and i just spammed death over, and over, and over. I got absolutely NOTHING. What am I doing wrong? I think i'm almost powerful enough to just defeat him with my normal characters.

Took me about 40 attempts, about an hour and a half. Don't make the mistake of forgetting you need decent paradigms set up to kill the little ****es after as well!

I can beat him without spamming death now :p

    • But building your own.. what? You can't build anything like the Steam Machine yourself. Even trying to get close costs a good deal more. Even just the CPU cooler in their price comparison is as big as the entire Steam Machine. If you want a regular gaming PC, then by all means, build that. If you want a a small console-like PC for the living room that is good for gaming, I'm not sure what else is a better deal. In the GN review, they only mentioned a small form factor Dell, which is like twice the size and hundreds of dollars more expensive.
    • Those are some popular multiplayer games. But hardly "all". Just those that don't work on Linux currently due to specific anti-cheat implementations. I think it's also fair to point out the literally thousands of games that don't work on the PS5. And it's not locked at 1080p. That's the default, which you can change.
    • Ubuntu Livepatch arrives on Arm64 to eliminate system reboots for kernel updates by Paul Hill Canonical has just announced that its Livepatch service now supports computers with Arm64 processors. For those who are not familiar, Livepatch allows users to apply important kernel updates without any service interruption or rebooting. While home users will benefit from this, it’s even more important for critical machines that absolutely should not be going offline at all. The feature is available as part of Ubuntu Core 26 for Arm64 and Ubuntu Core 20 and onwards for AMD64. According to Canonical, this will improve the security of systems that aren’t security-maintained daily or weekly, and it helps organizations work towards Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) compliance. If you are familiar with Ubuntu, you probably know that most packages can be updated without having to restart the system. There is one big exception to this, and that’s the kernel; it typically requires you to reload the system to boot into the new kernel. With Livepatch, Canonical has done something so that you don’t need to restart to begin using the new kernel. Aside from Ubuntu Core 26, users with Arm64 chips running Ubuntu 26.04 LTS can also use Livepatch. If you want to learn more about Livepatch, check out its product page. There, you can also find a button to join Ubuntu Pro (it’s free for several home devices) so that you can enable Livepatch. By linking your computer to Ubuntu Pro, you will also extend the life of your Ubuntu install from five years to ten years. If you are running Ubuntu, let us know in the comments if you have been looking forward to this feature on your ARM-based computer. If you’ve had a compatible AMD64 machine for a while and never used this feature, let us know why in the comments!
    • Meta announces a major leadership change at WhatsApp by Pradeep Viswanathan Meta has announced a major leadership change at WhatsApp, with Will Cathcart stepping down after seven years of leading the world's largest messaging platform. CRED CEO and founder Kunal Shah will take over as the next global head of WhatsApp. CRED is an Indian fintech company focused on creditworthy consumers. As part of the transition, Meta is also making a minority investment in CRED through its Series H funding round. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said Will Cathcart will remain at Meta and move into a new role focused on building new products from the ground up. Cathcart led WhatsApp during a major growth phase, helping the app reach more than 3 billion users worldwide. He also played a key role in expanding WhatsApp’s business offerings while keeping privacy and end-to-end encryption central to the product. Meta’s Chief Product Officer, Chris Cox, said Kunal Shah was selected after a search for a leader who understands WhatsApp’s global scale and future potential. In a leaked internal memo, Cox described Shah as a “serial founder” and one of India’s most respected entrepreneurs, adding that he brings “entrepreneurial energy” and a strong product mindset to the role. As part of the Series H funding round, CRED is raising ₹8,550 crore, or about $900 million, in a round led by Meta. The funding values CRED at ₹43,239 crore, or about $4.5 billion, on a post-money basis. It is important to note that this investment will not give Meta access to CRED customer information. Kunal posted the following on X regarding his new role at Meta: Although Kunal Shah will be stepping away from his operating role as CRED CEO, he will retain his personal shareholding in the company.
