Oh, and what's a growth egg? Sounds interesting. if it's Post Game then I don't wanna know. I'll find out for myself. >.>

It's a reward from Mission 54. Most people snag it post-game (due to how hard mission is), but you can get it right before you leave Chp. 11, using Vanille with Malboro Wand and the Death spell. I got it during my playthrough to earn extra CP.

Growth Egg = x2 CP.

I'm feeling confident. I'm able to beat down Goblins, those Wolf things (And their larger cousins), the Flying buggers and the Flans without much issue.

I shall grind for a while and then move on! And yesss I know, I don't know any of their names. Hehe. :shiftyninja:

Yip found these guys on Friday and just finished leveling up all chars on their 3 main lvls to lvl4 now on with the rest of the story :)

My suggestion, SAVE your CP!! Do not upgrade any more classes just yet. Once your main 3 roles are maxed out, keep the remaining CP for later, once you unlock lv 9 and lv 10, and get your crystanium up to Role 5. You want a lot of CP to max those out asoon as possible

Yeah, that's the second fastest way to gain experience in the game. The fastest is to farm Adamantoises, you need to really develop your characters to do that though. I can kill a Shaolong GUI in about 3 minutes and that's worth 120,000 CP (regular adamantortoise/adamantoise are worth 80,000 CP) with the growth egg :D When you include running up and down the hill to make the behemoth/dog thing refresh, it's a bit quicker to fight and kill a 'toise.

Where is this guy?

I know I'm not that far yet, but I'll ask it now, where is this spot you speak of (for future reference for me)?

I don't have time to play it alot, 2-3hr's at night at best, so I'm going slow, BUT, I level up each character's role at the same time, so right now all of my characters are at the same lvl for each of their roles in the crysanthium etc. That and I just upgrade the weapons I like as much as I can. I don't really upgrade accessories alot yet, a few are around lvl3 iirc, but yeah, I'm not even done with chapter 9 yet. :p I wish I had the time to sit down and play for 8 or so hours one day and get to chapter 11 and start doing these missions everyones talking about.

It is SO worth it. Even if you spend an hour trying the death trick, the payoff is very well worth it!

Best method to use is Vanille (saboteur) Fang (sentinel) Hope (Medic). That way Fang will distract them all, hope will heal fang the entire match, and you spam "death" with vanille until you die, or the neochu dies. You will certainly die, multiple times, but just keep trying until you get it

I'd take Fang out and replace with Snow. Snow should have alot higher HP (he has the most), give him some damage resistants belts and one +HP (500 pref) and you'll be good to last 3-4 minutes with him.

I actually don't know how you could bare to play it through again. As much as I love this game, it really only gets good once you get to Pulse.

Just noticed this.

It's incredibly short if you skip every cut scene. I was finished with Disc 1 in what was probably 2 hours. It wasn't that bad, plus I had a bit more freedom to be creative in boss battles since I knew how they played out.

Fighting the fal'Cie at the top of the tower. Honestly I'm starting to get bored of the gameplay, new enemies seem to be recolours of older enemies, getting close to the limit with most of my characters in the Crystarium (level 4 currently). The way everyone hyped up Pulse I expected something more...the badly-compressed intro video made it seem like this rich and beautiful landscape. I haven't met anyone else yet (which I think is what the characters are worried about) and I've only been able to count a couple of times where I've looked around and thought the place looked nice.

The field which you start off in is dull with enemies that you can only see when they're a few inches away from you, though the massive dinosaur things were impressive. Pulse just doesn't seem interesting to me. I heard when you get there the whole corridor thing stopped, but it seems like they replaced it with corridors that shoot off in a couple of different directions. Oh, and then they'll go to the other extreme and open this massive landscape for you, throwing in the odd pond every now and then. I'm still playing though because I've actually grown attached to the characters, even if they are a bit exaggerated. I can't remember what it was but one of the characters mentioned something that happened near the start, and it reminded me how long I've been playing for. I liked that. I just hope things get a bit more interesting soon.

By the way, if anyones got any tips for that fal'Cie (Dahaka), let me know :)

Yip that's what I have been doing. Reading hear suggests to leave the other 3 non-main roles till after the storyline. So right now I got lots of CP banked ready for the upgrade to lvl4 and beyond :)

This is what MassiveTerra and I have been saying. Building your hopes up it'll get better is only going to lead to more disappointment. This is what FFXIII is throughout.

On hour 24 and finally got to Barthandelus last night. It was the first time in 5 or so hours that the combat didn't feel monotonous. Before that it was the same exact combat for 5 straight hours. Rav/Syn/Sab to Rav/Med/Com to Rav/Rav/Com. the same thing every battle for 5 straight hours. My thumb got numb from mashing the x button so much

Man, from the hopes I have built for myself from everyone saying the game gets amazing at the 25th hour, it better be worth my 24 hour investment

Good :) I heard that on a forum, and decided to follow suit, just to make sure I don't make any mistakes. Each item on the upper tier is worth 30k or 60k. The other roles start off with 12k and eventually go up as high as 120k.

I dunno how much or if at all, I'll level up some of the other roles for characters. I seem to have found a good mix with just the original 3 roles each one has. Once you fall into a rythm of sorts, at least for me, I don't tend to make any big changes after that.

I'm right before the end of Chapter 10 btw. :p

I'm stuck on the Aster Protoflorian, i started Com/Syn, got buffed, jumped to Com/Rav to fill the meter, took me about a minute and a half to break the gauge, then that stagger got him to 50%, and i summoned Odin to try to finish him off, that got him to around 25-30%, and all the sudden the boss is going nuts and hitting for 90% of my health before i can even switch to com/med to fix myself up.

What level are peoples weapons at in Chapter 11? I just upgraded Lightnings to Helter Skelter but all the others haven't really been touched. I found a guide as to what to use to level them up.

Buy:

36 coloured jelly (3x EXP) OR 36 sturdy bones (3x EXP) OR 40 chipped fangs (3x EXP)

1 ultra-compact fusion reactor

I didn't bother upgrading the weapons until I finished the game. I upgraded a few levels only once I got the weapons I wanted. What I did was get good accessories like Warrior's Wristband and Sorcerer's Mark. Those give you +100 Strength and Magic. I think it is better than upgrading weapons at that point.

All of mine are maxed at tier 2 :( I can't get any more materials to transform them into tier 3. So i'm saving up $2mil to buy one.. As beating those big monsters isn't working.

I'm currently going the Missions before I do anything else yet. I have Chocobo access! But for some odd reason I'm finding B Missions easier to do than C Missions.

Straange.

Heh.. I beat some level A and B missions before finishing C and D. It's weird how they are ranked. Some are ranked B, which are unbelievably hard to kill.

Ah, i like where i'm at in the game.

just beat the robot boss after he knocked out Snow; Fang and Light came to the rescue - the gameplay was boring me for the past few hours with only 2 people (hope and snow together can't do ANYTHING) but back to the complex 3 people battle was fun. Lightning hugging Hope and Hope seeing his dad was nice.

hahahah! When I hit that part of the game, I was thinking to myself "They couldn't have given me the worst possible characters of the game" That part did suck.

I do however really hate

Sazh, Snow and Vanille

, the others are awesome. The worst dual in the game by far was

Sazh and vanille

. I noticed how much easier enemies were, in terms of how much they attack. Such a horrible duo.

I upgraded Lightnings first sword to * (star) then when on improving fangs std weapon to * (star) and hopes weapon, that has stagger lock, which is around lvl20ish at the mo. I did find battles easier once I started to upgrade weapons, haven't figured out how to advance the * weapons further yet

You know there is 3 tiers right? You are only at the first tier. You can max a weapon out to *, then you need to use a material, unlock it into second Tier (it will be the only glowing item in the list) then you can max it out to * again. You need Tropz to unlock the third Tier, which is their final phase.

Yeah I know there are other teirs, just don't know how to advance them, nothing in the upgrade list is available to use on them. But I'm just going to wait till the end of the story and go back to grand pulse and do all the missions and upgrades etc..

I only use Hope when I'm faced with a difficult battle.

My team is usually Fang/Light/Vanille (Com/Rav/Rav), (Sab/Com/Sab), (Sen/Med/Med) etc etc. But if I find myself getting killed, I'll swap Fang with Hope. And then have Rav/Com/Rav, Rav/Rav/Rav, Syn/Com/Sab, Med/Med/Med. :p

... *yawns* I sound like a complete and utter nerd. But it seems to work.

Pain/Curse/Daze are the funniest abilities ever. I usually spam those on an enemy so I can just go gung-ho. :p

    • Exactly, this is just the beginning. I hope that by that time, our inept politicians devise something like a Universal Basic Income, because unemployment and poverty rates will skyrocket otherwise. And believe me, robots that perform physical work aren't a matter of IF, but WHEN. No career is truly safe from AI/androids, it's just a matter of time.

Subtitle Edit 5.0.0 changelog: Subtitle Edit 5 is a major new release and a big step for the project. For the first time, Subtitle Edit runs natively on Windows, macOS, and Linux from a single, modern, cross-platform codebase. The builds are self-contained, so no separate .NET installation is required, and on macOS and Linux the needed media components (mpv/ffmpeg) are bundled in. Please read before upgrading: Subtitle Edit 5 is a new application, not just an update of Subtitle Edit 4. It has been rebuilt from the ground up to be cross-platform, so: It is not 100% the same app. The look, layout, and some workflows have changed. Some things are in different places, and a few behave differently than in SE4. Not every SE4 feature exists in SE5 yet. SE5 covers all the core editing, conversion, sync, video playback, OCR, and online services, but some of the more specialized SE4 tools are not available yet. Features will continue to be added. If you rely on a specific SE4 feature that is missing, please keep SE4 installed alongside SE5. The easiest way to run both side by side is to use the Portable versions of SE4 and SE5, which keep their settings separate and do not interfere with each other. Which version should I use? Subtitle Edit 5: recommended for most users on Windows 10 (22H2) or newer, macOS 12+, and Linux. Subtitle Edit 4: please continue to use SE4 if you are on an older Windows version (Windows 7/8), or on older / slower computers where SE5 may not run well. SE4 remains available and is the right choice in those cases. To run SE4 and SE5 at the same time, use the Portable versions - you can try SE5 while keeping SE4 as a fallback. • Google Pixel 11 series: Here's what to expect by Hamid Ganji Google Pixel 10 series In recent years, Google has successfully turned its Pixel devices into worthy contenders in the smartphone market. The search giant is now preparing to launch the Pixel 11 series in just a few months, and many Pixel fans are likely wondering what Google has in store for them this year. The next lineup of Google smartphones includes four devices: the Pixel 11, Pixel 11 Pro, Pixel 11 Pro XL, and Pixel 11 Pro Fold. This year, we don’t expect Google to bring revolutionary upgrades to its handsets, and the Pixel 11 series is likely to receive modest hardware improvements alongside a slew of AI-powered features. Here are the rumored specifications of the Google Pixel 11 series ahead of its official debut: When will the new Pixel phones be unveiled? The last two generations of Google Pixel phones (Pixel 9 series and Pixel 10 series) were launched in August, unlike the previous three generations that debuted in October. With that in mind, we expect Google to unveil the Pixel 11 series sometime in August 2026. The exact launch date has yet to be confirmed. Google Pixel 11 CAD renders - Image via AndroidHeadlines How much will the Pixel 11 series cost? Predicting the final price of upcoming smartphones has become increasingly difficult. As you may know, RAM and memory prices are rising sharply, leading to significant increases in the cost of consumer electronics. Recently, Apple CEO Tim Cook said that price increases for some future Apple products are unavoidable, suggesting that the iPhone 18 series could become more expensive. Google has remained tight-lipped about any potential price increases for the Pixel 11 series. If the company manages to maintain last year’s pricing structure, here’s what the lineup could cost: Pixel 11: $799 Pixel 11 Pro: $999 Pixel 11 Pro XL: $1,199 Pixel 11 Pro Fold: $1,799 Given current market conditions, it may be difficult for Google to avoid raising prices unless it adopts cost-saving measures, such as equipping the base model with 8GB of RAM. Google Pixel 11 series anticipated specs: We expect the Google Pixel 11 series to debut with a new Tensor G6 processor as well as an upgraded camera system. The overall design, however, is expected to remain largely unchanged across the lineup. Specifications Pixel 11 Pixel 11 Pro Pixel 11 Pro XL Pixel 11 Pro Fold Display 6.3-inch LTPO AMOLED / 120Hz refresh rate / up to 3100 nits of brightness 6.3-inch Super Actua LTPO OLED, 120Hz refresh rate, up to 3600 nits of brightness 6.8-inch Super Actua LTPO OLED, 120Hz refresh rate, up to 3600 nits of brightness 8-inch inner screen and 6.4-inch outer display, 120Hz refresh rate, up to 3600 nits of brightness RAM & Processor Tensor G6 / 8-12GB of RAM Tensor G6 / 12-16GB of RAM Tensor G6 / 12-16GB of RAM Tensor G6 / 16GB of RAM Storage options 128GB or 256GB 256GB, 512GB, 1TB 256GB, 512GB, 1TB 256GB, 512GB, 1TB Camera 50MP main sensor, 13MP ultra-wide, 10.8MP 5x telephoto, 10.5MP front camera 50MP main camera, 48MP ultra-wide, 48MP telephoto with 5x optical zoom, 42MP selfie camera 50MP main camera, 48MP ultra-wide, 48MP telephoto with 5x optical zoom, 42MP selfie camera 50MP main camera, 10.5MP ultra-wide camera, 10.8MP telephoto camera, 10MP front camera, 10MP inner camera Battery 4,840 mAh 4,707 mAh 5,000 mAh 4,658 mAh Software Android 17 Android 17 Android 17 Android 17 The Pixel 11 series won’t be a major departure from its predecessor, with Google instead focusing on subtle improvements and AI additions such as Gemini Intelligence. However, a patent filed by Google suggests the company is working on a removable battery for its smartphones, and we could see this feature make its way to the Pixel 11 Pro Fold. Given that nearly all smartphones today lack removable batteries, such a feature would be a welcome addition to future Pixel devices. That said, it may not arrive with this year’s lineup after all, and the final decision is yet to be made by Google. The Pixel 11 series could also face an uphill battle in the market. In the Android segment, Samsung is performing well with the Galaxy S26 series, while the Galaxy Z Fold 8 lineup is also expected to launch next month. On the other hand, Apple is preparing to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max in September alongside its first foldable iPhone.
