Jaggy Shadows (in every game)

hi :)

well i have a little problem

i see jagged shadows in everygame from player faces to their shadow cast..

sometimes its there sometimes its not.

but i dont really see soft shadows ..

my specs in my SIG..

leme give u an example of the jaggies... by taking some screenshot ingame in BFBC2..

ill upload them in a few mins..

and what can i do more to shadow then Enthusiast setting in Crysis Warhead?

and i must say.. it did go partially away from one game it was GTA4..

but all other games i play at MAX becoz of my crappy res of 1024x768.. and i dont think so its because of that.. or can it be?

To add on whats been said so far, it varies from game to game. Some games have graphics engines that support soft shadows while others don't. Bad Company 2, for example, only supports soft shadow map filtering in DX11-only. Traditionally, soft shadow rendering was hardware intensive. I guess it's why we don't see it that often in games; however, newer APIs such as DirectX 11 offer features that make soft shadow rendering efficient.

It's a bit advanced, but the images do a good job of showing the difference between soft shadows and "jaggy" shadows.
