Foxit Reader 3.2 Build 0303

yes, pay for, you know the way you also get rid of the banners and such.

They spent time coding this, and need to be paid for their work, if you're not willign to pay for it, be happy they let you use it for free at the cost of ONE TINY button. Seriously, kids nowadays thing everything shoudl be handed to them on a silver platter.

if this isn't good enough for you, use the official reader, wich is free and doesn't have a search button, has better document search and don't screw up on a lot of pdf documents.

and again, they didn't install the toolbar, but they have a ask powered search in the app itself, and the button for this helps keep this app free.

Not happy with this, well then code your own free foxit/pdf reader clone.

First of all, there is no such thing as a "paid" version of Foxit Reader.

Secondly, the "you should buy it / you should get over it / you should code your own" rhetoric quickly grows old. This is exactly the kind of mindset that led to a massive amount of adware and spyware-supported software.

Finally, the way Foxit earns revenue is by selling a PDF editor. There is no reason for the PDF reader to progressively get loaded with increasingly obtrusive advertising -- especially since Adobe's PDF reader doesn't have any.

Plus, even if this move is motivated by a desire to get more cash, it makes little sense business-wise: whoever doesn't install the Ask.com toolbar obviously doesn't want the Ask.com button either, so all it does is **** off people without bringing in any extra revenue.

Maybe you should actually know what you're talking about first.

try going to the foxit site and check out the "Foxit Reader Pro Pack"

here by the way if yous croll down you'll see a comparison between the free version, free version with toolbar and pro pack

so yes there is a paid version, very much so.

And what led to ad-ware bundled software is that application developement is getting more and more advanced and cost more and more. and on top of that , it's a BUTTON, not spyware. why exactly do you think developers of this software does not deserve to get paid ? and yes they sell an editor as well. so are you saying that the developers of that software should get less paid because they have top share the payment for their work with the developers of the reader... yeah that makes sense.

Ad-Ware bundling is an easy way to get money and keep software free. don't like it, well then effing pay up. and stop acting like an ungrateful whiny 12 year old.

go develop an app like this yourself and earn an appreciation for the work that has gone into it.

No. The "Pro Pack" unlocks PDF editing functions in Foxit Reader and that does nothing in the way of removing the Ask.com button.

I'll restate it again to get it through to you: optional toolbar bundling = OK / in-app advertisement = not OK.

then don't use their free software.

I mean if the horrible search button that says Ask in red letters instead of search is so bothersome. and how do you know it doesn't remove it ? have you bought it to check ?

Anyway this is pointless, and I'm not going to argue anymore, it's obvious you'll keep thinking you should get everything for free and won't change from that stance.

then don't use their free software.

Or better yet, let your voice be heard by stating that this new addition does nothing in the way of helping them bring revenue and does nothing more than annoy users.

and how do you know it doesn't remove it ? have you bought it to check ?

The Pro Pack is an add-on. It adds functionality. Get it? After buying it, functions that weren't available ("this function is only available with the Pro Pack, click here to buy it") are unlocked. It doesn't modify Foxit Reader itself. Ergo the Ask.com button remains.

can anyone create a silent installer of foxit? i love it as its much more faster and lighter than adobe pdf , but i dont like installing softwares (i have portable firefox + aimp2) thats why can anyone do that? Or just instruct me on how to do that
