Planet of the Apes Prequel (Rise of the Apes)

A series of images from the set of Caesar: Rise of the Apes have been posted online, with Freidapintofan.com gathering them together. The images showcase Freida Pinto and James Franco (obviously romantically involved in the film) with Andy Serkis wearing his Caesar motion-capture suit.

Whereas the original Planet of the Apes film series, as well as Tim Burton's 2001 remake, featured actors in makeup, Caesar will be the first to employ CG effects to bring the apes to life.

James Franco confirmed his character isn't connected to anyone we've previously seen. He also said that the focus of this prequel is different from the previous movies:

There are a few connections [to the other movies]. But where the other films provide commentary about class relations, race relations, inter-species relations, different cultures clashing, this movie is more of a Frankenstein story. This is really about man messing with science and the results of that."

So, in other words, it's not going to be a good movie.

I lost hope for this when they didn't stick with the original plan.

Failure. :)

I'd recommend anyone to watch the original with Charlton Heston, however.

One of my favorite movies ever, literally. Many may not know as well, that Rod Serling, the creator of the Twilight Zone, helped write the script for the Planet Of The Apes movie. It really is a huge commentary about man and society on a whole. Just a classic movie all around.

As far as this movie, sounds pretty awful, I have to say.

Here is our first look at James Franco from the upcoming reboot of Planet of the Apes titled Rise Of The Apes. Today 20th Century Fox has dropped a first look at an Franco, who stars in the lead. Perfect time to drop this picture seeing as how he'll be co-hosting the Oscars with Anne Hathaway.

The film is directed by Rupert Wyatt (The Escapist). In addition to Franco it stars Freida Pinto, John Lithgow, Andy Serkis and Brian Cox in an origin story that focuses on the engineering feats that advanced the intelligence in apes and sets off the war for species supremacy. Franco, Lithgow and Pinto star as the scientists who watch the world deteriorate during the ape revolt is led by a chimp named Caesar (Serkis). Cox takes on the role of a heartless owner of a primate sanctuary.

The first photo is pretty boring, but at least it gives us a look at the film, which so far has been farily quite promotional wise. Rise of the Apes opens everywhere on November 23.

I didn't know the movie was going to take place in modern times. How the hell can monkeys defeat humans?

Well, first they would take over the news media outlets. Probably starting with Fox - oh wait, it's already begun!!

    • Google pitches Spanner as one database for all AI agents with these new featues by Karthik Mudaliar Google Cloud is introducing new features within Spanner, its distributed database, as a place where enterprises should keep their data, using which AI agents could make smarter and better decisions. In a detailed blog post, Google highlighted quite a few features coming to Spanner, including relational data, graph relationships, vector search, key-value access, full-text search, and operational analytics together in one database architecture. Google says that today's systems aren't well-made for AI agents. There could be data that is present in one system, search indexes in another, embeddings in a vector database, and relationship data in a graph database. This fragmentation isn't great for AI agents to do their jobs because they don't have access to all of this data in one place. This is where Google is positioning Spanner as a solution. Spanner is already a globally distributed relational database with strong consistency, and Google wants its customers to see it as a broader data layer for AI applications. The company introduced something called Spanner Graph, along with integrated vector search, full-text search, a Cassandra-compatible key-value endpoint, and a columnar engine for analytical queries on operational data. Google also added that its ScaNN-powered vector search can support indexes with more than 10 billion vectors, while the columnar engine can make some analytical scans up to 200 times faster. All of this isn't just exclusive to the Google Cloud Platform, and there's support for multi-cloud as well. This comes via Spanner Omni, which Google says is a downloadable, containerized version of Spanner that can run on Kubernetes and in environments outside Google Cloud, including Microsoft Azure and AWS, and even on-premises infrastructure as well as edge deployments. Google says that customers who are interested in the full-featured edition should contact the company, and there's no word on commercial availability or separate pricing. Those interested can read the full blog by Google Cloud, which details these features individually.

    • They have lots of info on me, I have a facebook account and have done so for years, it was the thing to have then. My phone number is not on it. I don't have the Facebook app on my phone these days, just the messenger part, and only for a couple of people to contact me, most will text me via SMS or phone. I agree, Meta, like others, even without an account will know something about me. Just have to try and keep some things private Also, never saw the need for Whatsapp, people used to ask for me to join it, but as I said to them, I have SMS and a phone, use that, or email
