I only play rush if my friends are online. Otherwise I stick exclusively to Conquest.

This game is unrivalled when you're in a good squad.

Oh and the medic class must be overpowered since it's so popular :P

It normally can give the most points a game. Revivies, heals, squad (of both), kills, assist and it can keep your ticker from going down. A well played medic can change an entire game.

Medic definitely has the potential to be a game changer, but it's a little annoying when somebody plays Medic purely for the LMG. I see a lot of them who don't even attempt to heal teammates. I don't mind if they don't revive (as I'm not a fan of the revive system here at all, should be more like Enemy Territory), but they should at least throw down a health kit when a teammate obviously needs one.

I have an 8800gts and the game does randomly quit, (though not happend when im actually playing a game) and when i quit the game i have to end the process manually, but i love the game too much for it to bother me

I do think medic class is a bit over powered, since becoming one, my k/d has greatly improved, in most games i easily get 2:1, and im normally in the top 3 of the score board. Had one of my best games earlier, as i was put in a clan squad and we actually worked together, 2 of us were medics and would revive each other and the other squad members and we easily took A and B in rush, i was 2nd from top with 22-10 kd and got around 15,000 points

Its one of the things i like about this game, if you work together you can easily win a round (though dont always get a decent k/d), but if everyone goes off to do their own thing, becomes very hard to win, (but tend to get a better kd)

tbh iv kinda given up on the kd aspect of the game, and care more about points

Sorry guys I meant 9800GT.

Regardless if your playing at 1920x1200 or any high resolution with medium everything and bloom off I would like you to post rather saying " I don't know what he's going on about" or etc.

Either show some proof or for all I know you can have dx at 9 an everything like shadows and bloom at off. If so, I'm sorry but that's not what I'm talking about. You can cripple this game and run it very fine.

But If your running it at dx10 you need a better gpu then the 8800 to run it at high resolutions.

Now if your playing at dx9 and think the 8800gt is sufficent yes it is but that's not what I was talking about. I assumed anyone playing the pc copy had atleast a decent card and run it at dx10. Guess I was wrong. So if your running it at dx9. Your right. If your running at dx10 I'm right.

End of story. If your gonna continue to prove me wrong fine, show me proof or don't bother replying to me.

Oh my, you're right. It is Arica. I can't believe I read it as Africa this whole time... :pinch:

I blame the Internet. I first read it as Africa on gaming news sites before the PS3 beta started.

lol don't worry man I've been reading it as arica since the maplist. I never bothered to realize it's a port and since it's a port I do believe they won't call it Africa haha.

But should of seen my face when my friends like "look" and he showed me on his 360. I was stunned.

But it happens atleast now both you and I know it's arica lmao.

I'm not sure how to check what version of dx it's supposedly using, but I have DX11. I'm running windows 7 x64, have a q6600 with 4 gigs of ram and an 8800gt running at the game's default medium settings and it is smooth as silk. I've actually been debating on setting it at high, but I have yet to do that. Settings.ini is set to dxversion of auto. I have no clue what kind of proof you want, but I can tell you with it set at the default medium, it runs VERY well.

What resolution are you running at? You failed to tell me it. Also your running dx9 I believe because the 9 series had dx10 support I think it was. No nvidia card has dx11 support yet that's fermi.

But post a Fraps benchmark while in game with people and the resolution. That's the only proof I ask for.

oh, I forgot to put the rez in the last post. I stated it earlier. 1680X1050. Not sure if I want to do the whole fraps thing. It's just another useless program for me. As long as I never get choppiness I'm happy. And I can hoestly say I have not once had choppiness

core 2 e6400 @ 3.0gh'ish (just under) and oc'ed 8800gt and the game runs great. Only bogs down in a area with like four tanks going nuts when a crapload of people everywhere with explosions and smoke...

are you kidding me? 8800GT has DX10 support.

1920x1200 with medium settings, set at DX10 mode. Runs perfect for me. (DX 10 mode manually set)

I have it running at High resolutions just fine.. but you seem to think you cant. Interesting.

Rush is where it's at. I can't stand conquest, people coming at you from way to many directions. It's way to random for me. Add in grenade and rpg spammers and it gets old fast. But those are in all game types, so meh, guess that's moot.

Annnnd do we have to add people to our friends list again or what? I only have one person on mine where I used to have quite a few. I haven't seen or heard anything about that yet.

obviously my game on "auto" for directx was going for dx10, because I changed it to 9 and I had a HUGELY fluctuatng FPS from 23 to 90. Personally, I'll stick it back on auto (or 10) because I like a nice consistent framerate

enable vsync?

I know exactly what you mean. Im RUSH. I do conquest time ot time, but i did SO much conquest in BF2, that im done with it for awhile. Hell still do conquest when playing bf2 lol.

Also the friends list some people got there list back. I got mine back, but i would recommend just re add everyone.

Anybody playing right now? If so, where are you playing and what is your name?

I am lonely. :(

Whats your name dude? Im SikhDude on steam and Sikh in game.

    • AI is the beginning, wait until real robots replace more jobs, specifically jobs that require physical work.
    • AI is indeed eliminating jobs, and Oracle just proved it by Hamid Ganji There’s no question that AI has become the hottest trend in workplaces, and every company is trying to adopt AI-driven solutions across its operations. While some industry leaders repeatedly say AI won’t lead to massive layoffs, recent data suggest that AI is actually one of the main reasons some companies are reducing their workforce. According to Oracle’s annual regulatory filing, the company has laid off about 21,000 employees, or 13% of its workforce, amid increasing AI adoption. “The adoption and deployment of AI technologies across our operations have resulted, and may continue to result, in reductions to our workforce,” Oracle said in the filing. The software giant now has approximately 141,000 full-time employees, a notable decrease from 162,000 during the same period last year. Restructuring expenses, including severance payments, cost Oracle $1.84 billion in fiscal 2026. Additionally, around 49,000 Oracle employees were based in the U.S., while approximately 92,000 were employed internationally. Like many other companies, Oracle has fully embraced AI and concentrated much of its efforts on the technology. The company is also a key participant in the United States’ $500 billion Stargate Project, which aims to build multiple AI data centers across the country. When it comes to AI adoption and its impact on the workforce, opinions remain divided. NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, whose company has been one of the biggest beneficiaries of the AI boom, recently said in an interview that attributing job cuts to AI is a “lazy” narrative. “The narrative that connects AI to job loss, for many of the CEOs that are doing it – it is just too lazy. AI has just arrived, how is it possible they're already losing jobs?” Huang said. However, statistics and recent reports tell a different story. According to Layoffs.fyi, 196 tech companies have laid off about 119,800 employees so far this year. Reducing staff and replacing roles with AI agents could become one of the most significant trends in the job market in the years ahead.

    • UK funds £60M AI labs to challenge US tech dominance with open-source models by Paul Hill The UK government has awarded £60 million to Oxford University and University College London to help keep the country in the AI race by focusing on open-source, low-hardware alternatives. This is in stark contrast to the expensive, closed-source, and high-hardware-requirement models being created in the United States and elsewhere. The money will be shared among two new academic research labs over six years to help them redesign the fundamental mathematics and architectures of AI to help the UK reduce its reliance on a handful of US tech firms. Commenting on the development, AI Minister Kanishka Narayan said: Initially, the government planned to fund just one lab with a £40 million investment, but with this update, two labs will now get access to a larger pool of funds. The labs are expected to invest in the top AI researchers at every career stage, with £2 million per lab being set aside for hiring at least ten doctoral students. The government hopes that this will grow the UK’s talent in the field of AI. The labs are also expected to work closely with the leaders in British AI research, such as the Alan Turing Institute and UKRI’s AI research hubs. This will allow the various teams to collaborate and create new solutions faster than they could alone. This development is pretty interesting for a number of reasons, chiefly that it could create a long-term challenge for US tech firms if these labs successfully scale these open-source architectures that bypass the proprietary ecosystems. It could also give British businesses and public sector organizations access to AI features without paying high licensing fees to foreign providers or needing to invest in specialized server infrastructure.
