@AW: Yes, I have, but only to cut out the noise of my drive.

Still not got my veteran gun- annoying thing. Is it supposed to be not working?

Cool, I was just curious more than anything. As for the veteran gun, I don't know what that is. :(

hello , my computer arrives saturday. but it has an GT220 In it. wich i dont think it will bf2 run great. i got a budget of 150/200 ? so wich videocard will be okay to run bf2?

thanks!

You're looking at ~20 FPS with medium settings at 1680x1050. I recommend the Radeon HD 5770. You'll get ~50 FPS or more (depending on your specs) plus DX11 goodies. The cheapest ones go for about $140 USD.

Anybody online now (PC)? Add me and we'll play some.

Edit: Maybe not. It appears that the EA servers are down (again).

Not only that but my friends list has not been working for the past two days. In fact right now it is gone. Happen to anyone else? Do I have to add people again?

Yeah you need to re add people, something happened in maintenance and lots of people lost their friends lists

Thanks for the info, I thought this may be the case. So to everyone who was on my list I'll resend you an invite but feel free to do the same and to anyone who has it on PC feel free to add me same name as here on the forums just DirtyLarry no space.

seriously?

**** this game...

While it does suck it's way better than stats being lost. Way better.

Something weird is up when I jsut played, played a couple of games, and unlocked something in my medic class, and got closer to level 6, then when on to a game, and was starting at zero again. Now I check my stats and I am same status as before I started playing today, so no idea whats going on or if my stats will refresh later, its just not working smoothly right now :(

Ouch, that sucks. I haven't played for awhile so I can't tell you if it's a widespread issue.

Can't Believe the game is a console port after they said it wasnt! It seems they are still fixing/patching stuff from the console to the pc version.

I don't think it's a simple console port. I'm sure a fair bit of work was required to port the Frostbite engine to the PC. As for the issues, most (if not all) are server-related. The technical bugs were fixed during the beta (poor performance, mouse-input lag, etc).

The issue is that the server traffic is 3 times higher than the peak days of Battlefield 2. EA was not prepared for any of this and now they are rushing to get 3 times the server power on their EA servers.

Also, the EA servers will be down for scheduled maintenance tomorrow.

Hopefully, that will be the last of the problems.

But are the servers down now, I don't see 500 posts on the official forums saying they are so I'm not sure..

Because if they aren't then I messed up my game somehow trying to uninstall the damn thing...I get an error message saying there is something wrong with the "package", and it reverts the uninstall. I'm trying to change it so I don't have to have the stupid dvd in, and apparently the only way to do that is to reinstall the game.

Okay guys, I have a $50 Best Buy gift card (Christmas), and I want to know: would it be better to buy the game from the store or from Steam? I know there probably isn't much of a difference, but I figure I might as well ask anyway just to be sure.

I notice there seems to be some issues with the game as people are mentioning problems with servers and such also... Overall, is it still loads of fun?

Quick responses get rep cookies, as I'll be leaving to the store in less than an hour. :p (at work, it's close by)

I'd get it at the store if you want the game at this moment and even with the connection problems, the game is still loads of fun. You could start out with single player to get a hang of the game.

    • Looks like the 7.1 is fake effects, can it at least do real 5.1? It says 'virtual 7.1' in all descriptions.
    • You can't, if you didn't notice, it doesn't support surround at all, it's right in the spec list.
    • Hi — I’m always interested in soundcards. Like displays, I just want to know I’m getting as much clean “sonic juice” into my brain as possible as the years take their toll. I’m not entirely sure what to take away from this review, though. It doesn’t really tell me whether the AE‑X is a good product or who it’s actually for. Most of what I’m getting is: there’s a driver to install, here’s what it looks like, and here’s what’s in the box. There’s a lot of emphasis on the SPDIF input. When you mention not needing to switch headphones between console and PC — does that mean the PC has to be powered on just to pass audio through? That seems like a fairly big waste of energy. Is this more something a streamer would use alongside a capture card? How are you testing the sound? (Also, you might want to clarify that you’re using the headphones in wired mode when you mention they’re wireless.) You mention the lack of EMI shielding — how much real‑world difference does that make compared with typical motherboard audio? On multi‑channel: what exactly isn’t supported? Does this mean Windows spatial audio (Dolby Atmos for Headphones, DTS Headphone:X, etc.) won’t work, or just that the card itself doesn’t decode surround formats? And are there any true multi‑driver “surround” headphones left that would even use that? You also highlight support for high‑impedance headphones — but what does that translate to in practice? How does it compare to driving the same headphones from a normal device, and does it make any difference for everyday, lower‑impedance models? In short, who is this card actually targeted at?
    • Yes, THIS is wordart, not the styling that can now be done. Wordart was all about those curvy words, that you could change the path of, like making words go around a circle. I don't think it can be done now, right?
    • Just saw a news report of a Waymo driving into a flooded road.
