what's so special about dx10? their is no real advantage to it other then getting a hit in FPS...

look at the dif

No AA in dx9, some particle effects missing and i think some lighting effects (atleast thats what i saw when switching). Plus for me changing from dx10 to dx9 made almost no difference whatsoever.

Theres not a BIG difference, but like I said, i was assuming everyone was running it at DX10. I just ran it @ DX9 and brother can play it at 1080 with about 29 fps average. He has a decent comp, and once he gets my 260 after i get a fermi he'll be able to take advantage of the game. Its my fault for assuming. Running this game in DX9 of course it will run great.

Rush v Conquest.

Not really sure if I have a preference but Rush can be infuriating if you aren't running with good teammates (i.e. nobody going for objectives). At least with Conquest, if your team sucks, you can still get in some good games personally. Maybe not win but can rack a score.

Personally, I just do a auto join on 360, either mode.

how is the game doing/performing on the consoles so far? im going to presume it's not nearly the mess it has been for PC so far?

I have run into what 2 problems since launch and neither of them lasted longer then 20 - 30 mins. So far so good (Y)

On a side note me Doug and Danny had an absolutely awesome round tonight where we literally spawned as the enemy team had invaded our spawn point and were hammering away killing us before we could even pull the trigger but we still managed to break free cap all three points drive them back to their spawn and then ironically we spawn camped out of spite till they rage quit! lul nubz :p

On another note we also discovered a way to boost the medic class and I cannot believe nobody has thought of it yet...

I have the opposite problem. To many medics revive me after I've purposefully suicided or died and need ammo or wanting to change my kit. Or when there is 3 enemies standing on top of me. There needs to be some sort of accept/decline on the revive, it's really annoying some times. But they don't care about that only that they have large numbers in their score.

As some of you will have seen there is a new patch on EA servers v522174.

This isn't quite live yet but it will be shortly, also we are working on putting together the changelog for the patch and I'll add that to this post once I have it.

Yay! :D

Drit, if you are referring to team killing in hardcore mode and then reviving using defibs, then yeah its been done!

But to be perfectly honest its pointless. It just ruins the experience. And the medic class is really easy to rank up anyway!

Larry, if conquest is getting stale, I highly suggest rush. It definitely brings a new dynamic to the table, and if you improve your skills in rush, you'll be a BF madman

I come from 150 hours of Battlefield 2 play, where this mode Rush did not even exist. I played it on the first BC1 because I had to, they did not release Conquest until later if you recall. Now I have a choice, and I prefer the play the game the way I believe it is meant to played and how I have played it historically. Just is simple as that.

Rush is an okay mode, but way more often than not people are not playing it the way it is supposed to be played, and I never seem to be in a match where people want to advanced past the first two capture points, they are just happy with playing it like Team Deathmatch and that is absolutely incredibly annoying. Yeah I guess if I was in a good squad it could be okay, but I dont know the mode just seems to be awful to me this time around when I have checked it out.

Honestly I am not as impressed overall as I was initially, I am getting a little bored with it. Glad I have God Of War III and renting Metro whatever it is coming, will allow me to take a break.

that's why i stopped playing rush online, if it's people i know then yeah i'll play it, but randoms with a bunch of people just sniping... no thanks.

Nah in the game he mentioned about us joining a game and getting spawn killed. After we took all the flags the other guys left, so he chilled at the UAV (this was on the conquest Vet/VIP map or w/e) and kept shotting himself and I kept a medic pack at his feet. Every shot gave me 2-6 ticks.

Any squad deathmatch fans? It's pretty much all I play, every now and then I switch it up with conquest or squad rush, but I'd say over 90% of my time is spent in sdm. I have to agree on regular rush being no fun with all snipers, and that's pretty much all it ever is.

I enjoy it. Roommate plays it almost exclusively, so did a few games with last night and was just destroying kids. Think one game I ended up going 25-2 after a 15/16 kill streak. It's fun to play when it's not full of wannabe snipers/campers. And I love my AEK in it. Got 400 kills just by playing squad DM.

You'd think with all the Medics running around there would be more people to revive you or throw health packs. Dammit.

My thoughts exactly. It's funny, I was playing last night, and the Medics must have outnumbered the Assault guys at least 2:1, but I still saw more ammo packs on the ground than health packs. Heaven forbid they take a break from slaughtering people with the LMG to save my injured ass.

Yeah, the game has been relegated to "second game" status for me. That is, I play it alongside something else (FFXIII right now, DA:O after that). I find that this is the kind of game that I need to step away from every now and then in order to prevent myself from getting frustrated to hell.

Exactly. Every-time I have played Rush it is a bunch of snipers on the advancing team just sitting back. I can see where perhaps this would work on the defending team (but even then it would still be annoying to play) but seriously the advancing team?? Sit back and snipe when the purpose is to arm the crates? No thanks just as you said.

This just comes from either a lack of understanding of how the game works or just plain selfishness. Hell I drop medic packs even when no one is around but I know it is an area that a lot of action is going to happen (for example the house at B on the snow conquest map). I will just drop med kits in there even if I do not see anyone, as I know they will be needed. Never-mind the fact I then just drop them at any chance I can get while actually playing. It honestly blows my mind why people would not do this, as it is the easiest way to help your team and get points.

And yeah it will also be relegated to second game for me for a good week if not longer.

I'm playing Rush almost exclusively except for weekends where we'll pop conquest on. Though I can understand how people will get frustrated with this game if you play solo. I'm always online with 10 people upwards a day and I'm still putting in 3 hours a day and enjoying my self. Though the lack of healing seems to be ignorance on how to play the class properly which will always be the case on public servers. DICE incentivise it enough with the amount of points you can gather!

I just finished playing some of the worst games ever. I'm not talking about my performance as I did well. I'm talking about people not advancing when they should. It's so annoying to be on the attacking team when more than half your team is sniping at the back. It makes any attempts at planting a charge futile. Also, another annoying thing is defenders that literally push all the way to your spawn area. Okay, maybe not in my spawn area... but still - is that really necessary? Defend the god damn M-COMs, don't come after me at my base when I'm on the attacking side. Rush mode can be good... 0.5% of the time.

Yup, this was my experience last night and I was thoroughly ****ed off. I ended up going rogue and hiding out in buildings near our bases (this was Conquest, Winter Pass), but not as sniper as assault so I could jump out and hit the objective when needed. Finally, I just quit but I had to twist my arm to do so as I just got off 3 long shifts and I really wanted to play.

I need to finish Assassin's Creed II and Batman. I'm not getting bored of BC2 but I don't want to end up in the stale feeling by playing it too much. I can't believe some people have put 90+ hours on this game already blink.gif

This annoys me as well. Not sure why people can't play the game mode as it's meant to be rather than worrying about K/D ratios. In my opinion K/D ratios ruin games.

    • What I like about Paint is using it almost exclusively for cropping and resizing images I get elsewhere--it's quick, easy and cheap... I keep it glued to my taskbar, in fact. Also, the clipping tool comes in handy, as well (hit print scrn on the keyboard and it activates immediately.)
    • I still remember it fondly today. It was so cool to work in 64-color Half Bright mode and 4.096-color HAM mode (interlaced) when x86 was still in 4-color CGA or 16-color EGA low res. C= never realized what it had until it was far too late--the failure of C= was the failure of its top management. The C= Amiga was 20 years ahead of its time, I always thought. It didn't hurt that in only 512k of chip memory, the Amiga could preemptively multitask when Apple was still doing gray scale graphics on tiny screens and along with everyone else was doing cooperative multitasking (running more than one app at a time in resident memory, but you could only run one of them at a time--had to manually switch between them.) I had a ball with AREXX scripting running between programs that had AREXX ports so that when you sent other applications data and instructions, those running applications could process the same in real time to output! Memories...
    • I'm not sure about that, but it at least "does" a version of 7.1 that this brand new card doesn't....

    • I can barely recall getting web results from a file search... I must've turned it off long ago. 26H2 is Insider's Preview build 26300.8697, which I am running, atm. It is not available for people running the standard commercial builds of Windows--only for the beta test Insider's group. But anyway, as mentioned in the thread, this feature has been around for a long time...
