I hate the fact that when you zoom, it remains at zoom until you click the zoom button again.

There is actually a script you can install that will make it so that you have to hold down your right mouse button to zoom and when you let go it un zoom's automatically.

I've been trying for a few days now to get the Flag Defense Pin. I get up to 3 almost every time and fail. Its really ****ing me off. It is the last pin I need and it dosent look like I will be able to get it. Highly frustrating.

Same.. Thats the last pin I have to get also... Its a tough one Flag Defender Defend 4 flags

Btw. The new maps that are suppose to be coming the 30th of this month have already been released yesterday in Europe. We played on a Euro server yesterday that was running them.. Was a ton of fun playing Conquest on Arica harbor.

^ i think this game is more CPU demanding then anything. as soon as i got my quad core the game ran smooth at max res (1680x1050) that my monitor could handle

You are exactly right.. Same thing with me. I went from a E6750 with a Nvidia GeForce 9800 GT running at 1440x900 with everything on low and Dx9 to buying a new Q9550 and the same Nvidia GeForce 9800 GT and now can run the game at 1680x1050 (highest monitor supports) with everything on High and Dx10 just fine. Although there isn't to much of a difference between High and Medium honestly. So I just run everything at Medium and it runs extremely smooth.

Had such a blast playing this on Saturday night with AJ, Green_eye et all.

Although we had a weird glitch which also happened in BC1 where the entire enemy team was empty.

So we decided to blow **** up  The whole map was leveled then we decided to have some fun with physics & explosives

I was with ya for a bit but never once heard you speak. I heard Green eye having a conversation but never heard you. Were you and Haband talking?

Sounds fun! I miss my old squad! If I wasn't at Pax I would have definitely joined. Let's start a game sometime this week!

Anyone else seen the Isla Innocents glitch? Go to point Alpha in the village and on the back of the building there's a fence. Destroy it and the building will collapse, thus destroying A.

Well I'm off uni for a week + because of Easter so I'm definitely gonna be playing more. I have a lot of catching up to do.

I'm back in my groove though after Saturday night. Was top player game & game :D

I was with ya for a bit but never once heard you speak. I heard Green eye having a conversation but never heard you. Were you and Haband talking?

Ok, yeah my fault as to why you didnt hear me.

You're not on my friends list, and it's more than likely I still have it set to friends only. Leftover from playing MW2. I have to change that back next time I'm on.

Yeah they were speaking so I don't see why you couldn't hear them? Def something weird there :s

Yeah man it was crazy stuff and it pretty much made the game being with the fellas again. We should def hit it up again. Only thing is you yanks need to be a bit more considerate of UK time now that I have to wake up earlier for work :p I can't continue with the crazy all nighters for a while :(

Wait! You sleep? :p

Intense games tonight man. <3 XM8 Compact. Saved my life more than enough times.

Another thing I have wondered is what the conditions are for some of these pins. Like I kill player X, then sometimes it pop ups saviour kill, avenger kill, defence kill, payback kill or nemesis kill.

Saviour: when you save a team mate who is being fired at & close to dying

Avenger: when you get someone back after they've killed you

Defense: when you protect the objective

Payback: ? The same as Avenger?

Nemesis: when you have been killed by the same person so many times & finally get them back

Pretty much the same as all other BF games or TF2

Defense: when you protect the objective

Nemesis: when you have been killed by the same person so many times & finally get them back

Nemesis is when you kill the same person 5 times.

Payback is when you kill your Nemesis once.

Avenger is when you get someone who just killed a team mate.

Have you tried yet to get the pin? I'm more of a objective player my self but its just annoying haha. Perhaps the last patch broke it.

NEW MAPS! WHOHOOOO!

(Y)

i was going to say that would be a activision type move

exactly and DICE is staying away from that. While this game has it's small issues, it's still worth it on PC. Next FPS for PC for me is Medal of Honor. That's a gurranteed one. Thinkig about picking up Splinter Cell Conviction. It was great on 360 but the controls were not my thing. I know on pc I'll love it as other SC games. I'm waitig for a pc demo or first day "demo" ;). Sometimes being a pc gamer has it's benefits. But don't get me wrong if I like the game I go buy it. I only "demo" it for a few minutes.

Btw "demo" obviously doesn't mean demo :p that's for people that will read it too literally not you Rajput.

But i REALLY WANNA PLAY ARICA VIA CONQUEST. I love arica in rush and sqd tdm. Now conquest and I'll play conquest more. Also bring on lagana Alta or whatever for rush. I love that map in conquest.

What new maps are out/due out?

I have the VIP code but don't see anything new as far as maps go.

First map pack is Laguna Alta for Rush and Arica Harbor for Conquest. 2nd Map Pack is actually add new maps. Nothing surfaced for the second one but its said they will add new maps. First map pack is just perfecting the 2 maps they couldnt in time.

    • AI is the beginning, wait until real robots replace more jobs, specifically jobs that require physical work.
    • AI is indeed eliminating jobs, and Oracle just proved it by Hamid Ganji There’s no question that AI has become the hottest trend in workplaces, and every company is trying to adopt AI-driven solutions across its operations. While some industry leaders repeatedly say AI won’t lead to massive layoffs, recent data suggest that AI is actually one of the main reasons some companies are reducing their workforce. According to Oracle’s annual regulatory filing, the company has laid off about 21,000 employees, or 13% of its workforce, amid increasing AI adoption. “The adoption and deployment of AI technologies across our operations have resulted, and may continue to result, in reductions to our workforce,” Oracle said in the filing. The software giant now has approximately 141,000 full-time employees, a notable decrease from 162,000 during the same period last year. Restructuring expenses, including severance payments, cost Oracle $1.84 billion in fiscal 2026. Additionally, around 49,000 Oracle employees were based in the U.S., while approximately 92,000 were employed internationally. Like many other companies, Oracle has fully embraced AI and concentrated much of its efforts on the technology. The company is also a key participant in the United States’ $500 billion Stargate Project, which aims to build multiple AI data centers across the country. When it comes to AI adoption and its impact on the workforce, opinions remain divided. NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, whose company has been one of the biggest beneficiaries of the AI boom, recently said in an interview that attributing job cuts to AI is a “lazy” narrative. “The narrative that connects AI to job loss, for many of the CEOs that are doing it – it is just too lazy. AI has just arrived, how is it possible they're already losing jobs?” Huang said. However, statistics and recent reports tell a different story. According to Layoffs.fyi, 196 tech companies have laid off about 119,800 employees so far this year. Reducing staff and replacing roles with AI agents could become one of the most significant trends in the job market in the years ahead.

    • UK funds £60M AI labs to challenge US tech dominance with open-source models by Paul Hill The UK government has awarded £60 million to Oxford University and University College London to help keep the country in the AI race by focusing on open-source, low-hardware alternatives. This is in stark contrast to the expensive, closed-source, and high-hardware-requirement models being created in the United States and elsewhere. The money will be shared among two new academic research labs over six years to help them redesign the fundamental mathematics and architectures of AI to help the UK reduce its reliance on a handful of US tech firms. Commenting on the development, AI Minister Kanishka Narayan said: Initially, the government planned to fund just one lab with a £40 million investment, but with this update, two labs will now get access to a larger pool of funds. The labs are expected to invest in the top AI researchers at every career stage, with £2 million per lab being set aside for hiring at least ten doctoral students. The government hopes that this will grow the UK’s talent in the field of AI. The labs are also expected to work closely with the leaders in British AI research, such as the Alan Turing Institute and UKRI’s AI research hubs. This will allow the various teams to collaborate and create new solutions faster than they could alone. This development is pretty interesting for a number of reasons, chiefly that it could create a long-term challenge for US tech firms if these labs successfully scale these open-source architectures that bypass the proprietary ecosystems. It could also give British businesses and public sector organizations access to AI features without paying high licensing fees to foreign providers or needing to invest in specialized server infrastructure.
