Just started playing this.

Game is really hard to get into as a brand new player. Almost impossible to get any points when everyone is 20+ levels and several ranks above you. :(

If you are on 360 you can always jump in the squad I play with, we play for fun and we won't mind supporting you until you get a hold of the gameplay :)

They really did over do it with the dust in both single and multi player.

I actually like it. Apart from the eye candy, it gives you a sense of a true battlefield. You can run between covers inside the dusts and even do a supressing fire to limit their visibilities. Love it

You'll find that once you learn the maps that will change. Really one kit doesn't give you to much of an advantage over another. The only time that will really be a factor is with snipers and their mortar strike, but it's fairly situational. All the guns are pretty balanced (aside from the M60) in my opinion.

Guessing you're not much of a sniper guy? sometimes it's impossible to see half way across the map when a few things blow up leaving massive dust and smoke clouds obstructing the view. It however isn't a game breaker and will just mean you have to move.

While generally the higher unlocks are in improvement, that doesnt mean the lower ones are bad, they are quite good at killing people as well, :D

the ak-74 for engi and the m24 for recon are both very good (m24 you get right off too).

but for assault the best guns are easily the last two you unlock.

last 3 you unlock for assault*, don't underestimate the an-94, the stopping power is excellent so being a bit more careful while aiming (it has lower accuracy than the m16, you have to let it settle a split second more between bursts) will net you some really good killing ability w/ it.

OT: @rajputwarrior: Happy Birthday!!

Agreed. Happy Birthday man. (Y)

And just wanted to chime in to whomever said it before (sorry I am being lazy - EDIT nvm I see it is Xilo below) but do not get discouraged being a new player. The game is incredibly fair to new players. I am still under 10 myself and I am playing against almost nothing but 20's lately when I play, and it honestly does not mean a damn thing except they have been playing longer. I can still get top of the scoreboard in a round, etc., so I think it may seem that it is not fair to new players initially, but honestly it is set up very fair for new players. Not only that but remember you can pick up other kits, perhaps that will give you more of a mental edge, but if it was a game that did not favor new players I would fully admit it, but that is not the case.

Also as mentioned, squad up. You will get used to it in no time.

I play on PC, but thanks for offer. :p

Been playing a couple hours today, it's getting better. Unlocked a few stuff on medic and ranked up finally.

Off topic: Happy Birthday, rajputwarrior :)

Squading up definitely helps when you're at a low level with not many unlocks, so long as you're on a squad that actually works together. I love how the game lets you respawn on squad members, since that cuts down on the amount of running around you have to do, and it decreases your chances of being ganged up on. I'm embarrassed to say that it took me a very long time before I realized that you can respawn on squad members, but ever since I found out, I've been using it all the time.

Same here! Took me several days before I found that out lol

the m16 is a headshot machine though, love how accurate that gun is. It's just retarded how many long distance kills i've pulled with that thing.

thanks boys (Y) ...

and lingering right, spawning by your squad members is awesome because it cuts time when you want to get somewhere. sometime's i'll switch squads just to get better positioning

+1

My friend mentioned to me the other day that he felt the single player was awful. I tried to explain this very aspect, that it is the MP content that has the sexiness involved. Poor kid. Missing the good stuff!

I haven't finished the Single Player yet because i been playing the Multiplayer so much now :p

Its gotta be a bug. I've had awards show up twice before for no reason. It's not like I achieved [insert requirements here] twice.

It is a bug. It occurs when you achieve ANY pin / insignia or award right when you die. so While the first animation on your screen appears for the award and you die.. when you respawn.. it didnt finish, so it plays it again and the game then registers it as two in the final score screen, but only counts for one.

I had this EXACT situation last night after seeing this thread actually haha. I got the supply ops Insignia, but I died. Then at my final score screen, it appeared twice, but only counts once.

Getting bored of this game its turning into MW2, had people whining at me "so you cant use a real gun then eh?" when i use an RPG launcher to take out a group of men at range, what am i supposed to do just sit there and let them attack objective or try and shoot them at range with an SMG?

The same idiots who have the gaul to whine at me are the same ones running about as a medic not healing anyone with M60. Im very close to just uninstalling it.

Probably the people from MW2 are now filtering into BC2, heh.

I never see anyone talk in my BC2 games. Apart from the usual 'GG' at the end of a match.

Still crashing. Catalyst 10.3 have been released, has anybody tried them?

I have a 4870 and have used drivers ranging from 9.12 to 10.3 (now) and have never had any driver related crashes.

I have gotten some ctd's though but I am 100% certain its not driver related. I never had ANY crashes until around the r6 server and I started getting random ctd's (sometimes even in the game menus) then they mysteriously disappeared when EA fixed their master servers again. they appear to be mostly a network issue and/or happen on mis configured servers. Haven't had any ctd's for ages.

    • First time clicking on a Sayan Sen article after he started making clickbait, vague headlines recently. Didn't read, just came here to say the headline doesn't look like very cheap, vague clickbait this time. Are you okay?
    • Good review, and yeah the benchmark breakdown is pretty clear but also a little messy in a good way. It’s kinda interesting to see where the RX 9070 GRE slides in between the 7800 XT and the 9070 XT , especially when it comes to AI tasks and Blender style workloads. The side by side with Nvidia’s RTX 5070 and 4070 makes it feel obvious just how competitive the mid range GPU scene has gotten lately, and that’s great for creators and gamers too since you can pick based on your priorities rather than only chasing one single thing.
    • That's it. I finally uninstalled Firefox because they often keep pushing buggy updates, only to test them later and make users suffer. No longer is it my alternative browser to Edge. What a waste of energy. Firefox is bad for the environment, just like Chrome (wasting RAM/energy).

Users report that this month's security updates for Windows 11 cause all sorts of issues, including BitLocker bugs, OneDrive issues, black screens of death, and third-party integration in Office apps. Microsoft has not confirmed those yet, but it acknowledged other issues with its operating system. What Microsoft has confirmed is a bug where Recycle Bin delete prompts display internal file names instead of actual ones, and a year-old Windows JScript compatibility bug caused by security-focused engine changes.
