Didnt have a chance to play for a while and now i must say... jeesh, i dont even know if they are moving forward or backward. Totally random hit detection and shotgun sniping ftw! I find it funny i can headshot someone with shotgun half mile away and at the same time it doesnt even register almost at point blank.

Had my first experience of hackers today. No, I mean real obvious blatant hackers. I guess you could say it was my fault; I joined a server with PB turned off. But I had no problems with the server before (been on it loads of time) but tonight?s sessions was painful. Me and my regular group of frag mates quickly sussed something wasn?t right at all.

It wasn?t the fact that I died a lot (as you have seen previously, I have no problem dying). It was the fact more often than not; I had the drop on them. But then seemed to instantly snap-around and starting head-shotting me.

Coupled with real poor hit detection on this server, made for some really hard and challenging games. Glad to say we won most of them. Hackers have no real skill, and are completely dependent on whatever programs they use.

Somewhat soured my enjoyment of this game, but it isn?t going to put me off. Not even one bit.

I've also encountered hackers a few times in BC2, on non-PB servers, and while annoying to say the least they still couldn't win the rush games anymore than anyone else, you need teamwork which is something they lack completely.

Pretty pumped a few friends in RL picked up the game, been alot more fun with people I know playing, even if one of them is terrible, :p

yeah, couple weeks ago i was playing and saw like 4/5 times player banned for aimbot :p really wonder if it was :D

still my friends cant play this game, they all have crappy computers

I had some weird experiences yesterday too - I was crouched in a corner to reload after a sniper had gotten off a shot on me. I was waiting for my health to pick up when I suddenly started sliding sideways into the open. It was totally bizarre. I thought it was lag but the fact the same sniper dude headshot me FOUR times with a pistol when I was creeping up on him made me wonder if it's some sort of hack. Like Singh says, I saw him first but he turned around and one-shot killed me.

Maybe it's the hit detection thing - I've lost count of the number of times I've emptied a clip into someone and they don't even die and they turn around and kill me almost immediately. It's weird.

Well its not like I don't get one-shotted in other games. But there was a certain group of players on this server that seemed almost god like at this skill.

Another thing that convinced me that they were hacking, when they owned a good friend of mine. He plays comp in games like this, and I watched him get owned, and then he proceed to kill me. This happened on Africa Harbor, Objective A, the train bridge, the one in the carriage. Me and my friend were positioned so both entrances/exits were covered (I covered his six, while he covered mine). The hacker came into my view, walked in, turned to his left, nailed my friend at point blank range, and then again a point blank range just killed me like nothing happened. All the while I was scoped, on his head with the PP with Magnum Ammo plugging away. Now, I know what you are thinking, hit detection - right? Normally I would agree, but at blank point range, and spread of the guns. You would simply have to hit something and get a register somewhere.

Ah what can you do, chances are they'll get caught out soon or later.

About that, hit detection is usually the worst at close range with a weapon that fires at a high rate like the PP2000. At least that's been my experience with bad hit detection.

Mmmmm, I disagree. On "normal" servers, that is my playing style with the PP. CQC is where it excels, and I have never felt it has bad spread at close range.

anyone else love squad deathmatch? my fave mode in the game.

Guilty. Been playing nothing but SQDM. Doesnt get boring/tiring ever. Stopped playing rush, gonna start conquest if i ever take a break from SQDM.

My favorite mode to play in the game is SQDM. You guys are not alone.

I play Rush all the time. Played a few SQDM games before and it was really fun.

We should have a Neowin 360 game night one day, but a lot of people here seem to have it on PC...if only they could do that 360->PC connectivity again...That's be great!

Well there is a bunch of people that have it on the 360 as well. so we could literally get all the 360 folks and play.

I still can't believe how much easier it is to rack up points in squad deathmatch. I also can't believe how dumb people are on that mode as well, just standing in one spot and sniping, being completely dead to the world.

Sometimes squad deathmatch feels more of a stealth game than splinter cell conviction does

I also can't believe how dumb people are on that mode as well, just standing in one spot and sniping, being completely dead to the world.

That is what I do blush.gif But it's usually 2 different spots. Most of the time I either lead the squad to victory by doing that or have more kills/points than most in my squad. I didn't think it was a bad thing if you are winning sad.gif

I was trying to play with my mates today, but the damned thing kept kicking me out of them. They had a squad set up, invited me and there, I was in. But when they began to play a match, it kicked me out saying that it couldn't find any games, try again later. It kept doing this when I was trying to join them, so I just had to play on my own.

Got my platinum on my T88 PKM though.

recon is the last class i have to go through, and it is epic fail.... i either have to camp with sniper or rush with saiga...whilst saiga is fun im not good at shotty and 6 rounds isnt enough to sustain a good rush(i spray :) and i hate sniping...so boring but easy kills though(only fun part i had was was going shot for shot with a guy and he decided to camp behind a petrol tank...was worth it just for the rage), so my spm has dropped from mid 180's to < 150 :(

cant wait to go back to the other classes.

You can either use the perk that gives you a larger shotgun clip or control your shots. 3 shots from the Saiga should take most guys down (with no additional armor) but it's difficult not to empty the clip because due to the lag, between the shot and the server registering the shot, you've already emptied the clip. DICE should really tweak the netcode.

Got 4 quad kills in two rounds today....with the Gustav and AT mines

Have given up Recon for the time being and have been having some good success with assault/engineer. got the mini-AK47 which seems ok but that MA16 single-shot rifle is CRAP.

yeah for the first time yesterday i saw u playing as engineer lol!.

gustav is an awesome weapon :D. i enjoy the most time being an engineer. And i really think m60 needs to be nerfed. cause when i am playing medic + m60 + magnum ammo. is almost godlike!

The slow load times for the HD 5000-series video cards has been fixed in the Catalyst 10.4 Preview drivers (SOURCE). Apparently, a fix for the HD 4000-series video cards is on the way. And it's about damn time.

    • You're absolutely right! No reason in hell these should be on the road!
    • They aren't going to want to. Most would just go with the 17 Pro and save money. Why would they want to spend $300 for basically the same thing? It's not worth it if there are hardly any changes from year to year.
    • 24H2 rolled out to the Release Preview Channel in early June 2024, so this coming a bit later in the Experimental Channel (formerly Dev) doesn't really say much more than earlier H2 releases that came out in October. I am not sure what the thinking is here by putting it in Experimental, one would think that the 26H2 stamp means features are locked down and it's now bug tested until October? I don't even pretend to understand Microsoft's strategy for Windows Insider Program though
