Come on dude, catch up. I am well on my way to Elite Service Duty Insignia - 2d 22h/5 days spent online ;)

Time played:85:44:00 Hours

I've had my 5 day service one done for over two weeks now.

man i wish i had as much time as you guys did....

I hear you. The Medic gun selection is way OP for a Medic role. I tend to play with the XM8 LMG on the rare occasion when I do play Medic.

And sniper rifles are gay and boring. Complete snooze fest. When I do play Recon, I tend to play with the WWII pistol and just run around with that. Sniper rifle selected is usually the GOL.

That's going a little to far.

Seriously though when I play recon I'm not the one that is sitting on a hill 2 bases back trying to get headshots. I like actually rushing when I play recon, it's so fun. And people don't usually expect to see a recon up close and personal and getting blasted in the face by a Gol. I also like recon with a shotgun too.

It's what happens when you're unemployed like me.

I haven't played for about 4 days though, I got burnt out on the game. To many times getting killed by a CG or GL at pointblank range from someone I was completely unaware of.

Hey, I have a full time job. I fit my gaming around that :p Usually a 3-hour session on a weekday night, and then a massive session over the weekend.

I have been neglecting a lot of games because of me playing BC2. Damn it, not enough gaming hours in the day!

That's going a little to far.
I speak the truth :p

I am kinda meh about shotguns. I find them clunky and horrible. A must have in a gun for me is a high RoF. I can't bear click, wait a million seconds, click etc etc.

Do not worry man...

I have played PC version 11:57 Hours

I have played XBox version 12:16 Hours

So combined I have played 24:13

Still WAY WAY behind some of these numbers, and I am actually unemployed (not by choice) right now.

Use the shotgun perk for slugs. It's fun to run up behind a group of people and 1 shot them all in the head while they're unaware of you.

I just had the most fun ****ing round ever in Isla Inocentes! Teams were un-even 10 vs. 6 in RUSH and I come in as the 6th man. My team had a bunch of morons running around trying to get the heli and the tank and I was the only one trying to destroy the M-COM stations. With 11 tries left to destroy the 2nd com station, I do it. :D Then goes to the next area and the teams become 5 (mine) vs. 10. My team is getting into the tanks and helis to try to get over there and kill people. I go and kill people there and then again with 9 tries left I get both of them gone.

So now its the last part of the round and I get the first one within 55 tries left and then all of a sudden the teams become 10 (mine) vs. 5 and everyone just went for the last one, but I got to it and got the points for destroying it. :D Finished the round 45-19. :D The teams were **** and people suck for not evening up, but **** yeah I did it. :D

It draws to much attention though. I like being sneaky with a silenced weapon, and AFAIK you can't drop a silencer on a shotgun  But I shall try some shotgun kits out tonight. The Neostead is one that stands out.

In other news, I am finally starting to like Conquest mode - why? Because it is way more fun on a full 32 server I have discovered rather than a 16 slot server. On a 32 Conquest, **** is flying everywhere, and enemies are pouring out of random directions. Really chaotic fun. Where as 16 was kinda boring, and you could go a few minutes without seeing any action (unless on smaller maps). But dayum, on 32 non-stop action. Loving it!

You are playing the role wrong. I have so much fun playing Recon. Spotting, Mortar attacks, sneaking behind the enemy so my squad can spawn on me, boobie trapping enemy equipment etc..... Yeah just sitting on a hill trying to get head shots is boring but there is so much more the role can do.

i complete agree with you, most of the time i use other kits when i am playing recon, my sniping skills are way below when i go assault or medic :p

So I hopped on this game via XBOX Live last night and for some reason all of the dedicated servers for Rush and Conquest were ****ed up and wouldn't let me in so I tried Sqad Rush and Squad Deathmatch for the first time (achievement! woo-hoo!)

Squad Rush and Squad Deathmatch are probably the easiest modes Battlefield has to offer, and I had some of my highest scoring games last night. I wouldn't go as far to say that players that play these modes are dumb, I would just say they aren't tactical at all. Most of them are snipers (or medics with scopes) that stick to one spot with every different spawn they have, to the point that you can do jumping jacks behind them for 1 minute and they'll have no clue what's going on. For some games I was playing I was even in a squad by myself and still had kills higher than squads with 4 people. It was rediculous!

Don't think I am playing it wrong, as naturally my style of play is upclose and personal, not hanging back type. I just don't enjoy it as much as other roles/classes.

Hey I am full time employed and have a daughter that I have to take to Softball practice 3 days a week not counting ballgames.

I usually play about 1-2 hours a night on weekdays and then play maybe 4-8 hours total on Saturdays and Sundays.

Good point. For me the map and how the game is unfolding determines what I play. If the enemy loves armor and vehicles I play Engineer, if the like to run and gun, Assualt maybe Recon. If they have a ton of Recon, Recon. I love anti sniping and dropping mortars on Sniper nests. Have yet to play medic.

didnt know u could use tracer gun on people LOL :p

There was an awesome suggestion a few pages back about using the tracer gun on teammates who are annoying you. Just shoot them right in the face, and the dart completely obscures their vision. I haven't tried this myself, though. Nobody has made me angry enough to try... yet :).

Is there even enough time in a game to die 40 times?

Hell yes. I am not scared of dying, unlike 98% of players who play this game. I quit shortly after that game, when I found 4 team members just staring at an armed M-COM station, all too scared to disarm it because of dying. I HATE and I really do mean HATE players that are scared to die, and worry about their K/D ratio.

    • Microsoft finally admits its default Windows 11 25H2, 24H2 action broke key legacy component by Sayan Sen Microsoft last week released Windows 11 KB5094126 and KB5093998 as the latest Patch Tuesday updates. Following that the company also published the accompanying dynamic updates under KB5094149, KB5095971, and KB5094156. So far the company has acknowledged two known issues that have popped up after the release which include bugged-out Office apps as well as the Recycle Bin; though there could be more at play too. Speaking of bugs and issues, Microsoft seems to have finally acknowledged a problem that probably has been around for close to a year. That's because back in July of 2025 the company made a default change to the latest Windows 11 versions, wherein it switched to JScript9Legacy on Windows 11 24H2 and later releases. Hence following the release of version 25H2 in October 2025, JScript9Legacy also remained default-enabled. As a result there has been a compatibility issue ever since then. For those wondering, by switching to JScript9Legacy Microsoft intended to improve the security of modern Windows PCs by reducing vulnerabilities tied to legacy scripting like cross-site scripting (XSS), among others. XSS exploits can allow cyber-attackers to attach malicious code onto legitimate websites and use them to execute the code when a potential victim loads such a website. Hence the new JScript9Legacy engine enforced stricter execution policies and improved object handling, which should help mitigate such attacks. Microsoft today has published a new support article detailing the problem. Neowin spotted it while browsing. The company says that JScript global definitions and execution context may fail to persist across scripts, potentially breaking older dependent apps and web-based components that relied on this legacy behavior. In the article Microsoft has confirmed that the issue stems from its move away from the older jscript9.dll engine in favor of jscript9legacy.dll. As mentioned above, while the newer engine was designed to address vulnerabilities and strengthen security it also changes how JScript handles execution context. As a result functions and definitions loaded by one script could no longer remain available to subsequent scripts once execution ended. The company notes that some applications worked correctly on earlier Windows versions because the older JScript engine automatically retained global definitions and execution state between scripts. Under the newer model though that behavior is disabled by default causing certain legacy workloads and polyfill-dependent scripts to fail. Microsoft says it addressed the problem via the KB5077241 update though the fix had not been enabled automatically in the following updates. As such admins must explicitly turn on persistent JScript execution context using a Registry setting that the tech giant shared today. The configuration can be applied to individual processes or system-wide through the FEATURE_ENABLE_PERSISTENCE registry key. The steps have been outlined below: Run the following command to create the feature control registry key: reg add "HKLM\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_ENABLE_PERSISTENCE" Under this key, create a new DWORD (32-bit) value. Configure the value as follows: To enable persistence for specific processes only: Set the value to 1 for each target process name. To enable persistence for all processes: Add * as the key name and set its value to 1. You can find the official support article here on Microsoft's website.

    • VidCoder 12.20 by Razvan Serea VidCoder is a DVD/Blu-ray ripping and video transcoding application for Windows. It uses HandBrake as its encoding engine. Calling directly into the HandBrake library gives it a more rich UI than the official HandBrake Windows GUI. VidCoder can rip DVDs but does not defeat the CSS encryption found in most commercial DVDs. You’ll need the NET 8 Desktop Runtime. If you don’t have it, VidCoder will prompt you to download and install it. The Portable version is self-contained and does not require any .NET Runtime to be installed. You do not need to install HandBrake for VidCoder to work. Feature list: Multi-threaded MP4, MKV containers Completely integrated encoding pipeline: everything is in one process and no huge intermediate temporary files H.264, H.265, MPEG-4, MPEG-2, VP8, Theora video Hardware-accelerated encoding with AMD VCE, Nvidia NVENC and Intel QuickSync AAC, MP3, Vorbis, AC3, FLAC audio encoding and AAC/AC3/MP3/DTS/DTS-HD passthrough Target bitrate, size or quality for video 2-pass encoding Decomb, detelecine, deinterlace, rotate, reflect, chroma smooth, colorspace filters Powerful batch encoding with simultaneous encodes Customizable Pickers to automatically pick audio and subtitle tracks, destination, titles and more Instant source previews Creates small encoded preview clips Pause, resume encoding VidCoder 12.20 changes: Updated HandBrake core to 1.11.2.
