Played a bit and I can't say I'm liking the changes. Aside from the new server browser which updates almost instantly now, the balance changes with the weapons don't feel right. Oddly enough though, I'm doing a little better with weapons like the M95 and M416.

M416 is awesome. Probably the overall best run and gun, gun. Whenever I play SQDM that is what I use.

One thing to keep in mind though - the community cries about everything; it's really astounding (BC2 is my first online shooter btw, so no prior experience). And often about things that are basically fine. So to some extent I could understand the developer if they become desensitized to it. Not that it excuses sloppy coding, of course.

Very true but it's nothing new, it shouldn't come as a surprise - Every single game with an active community sees massive amounts of actual feedback, whining and all that is attached to it

so while it's true, there is no excuse for it. Most developers should have some common sense, sift through trash and find the usable feedback like any decent develop studio with a proper community

manager has and then use this feedback for internal revision / voting process or whatever the developer at hand does.

So DICE being completely uninterested in real feedback and just acting ignorant and applying changes that makes no sense whatsoever is not the communities fault, it's DICE's.

I really want to get back in the game but I'm still massively disappointed 'bout the fact you can't attach scopes to global weapon unlocks - Such a massive bummer, I was gunning for the M14 and got it within a few days as

I was hoping for some good ole' fashioned Marksman-whoring and I end up with this crappy weapon that has iron sights from hell. Has there been any indication of them adding scopes for these weapons? Then I'd start

playing again in a heartbeat. ( I'm very picky laugh.gif )

Well, the weird thing is, I am about to unlock a some sort of scope under my assault class (recently unlocked the F2000 right before it). I wonder what I will be able to attach the upcoming scope to?

Yeah, there's videos from I think it was the ps3 beta that showed the G3 using the acog and M14 with a red dot sight. Why it was removed? No one really knows other than dice felt it was to strong for non-kit weapons. Which I think is stupid because they don't have any problems buffing LMG's when they were already the strongest class of weapons in the game all around.

I'll see if I can find it the videos.

Video here, around the 26 second mark you can tell it's the m14 from the iron sight:

snipped youtube

You can also see the camo M16 in there as well. So yay for them charging for stuff that's already in the game. pinch.gif

I have NOT seen that map in that youtube video. And the graphics look MUCH better in that video than my 360 version looks. whistle.gif

You can only attach scopes to the primary weapons that are exclusive to that class.

That map is in the game, I've played it multiple times. It's only a rush map. Also your Xbox must be broken because that Youtube video muddies the graphics up quite a bit. The game looks much better on my Xbox.

Your Assault rifles I believe, I unlocked many of the classes despite my weak playing-time and none of the scopes can be attached to global unlocks like the M14 and G3.

So I can attach a scope to an assault rifle?

Ah, that explains it. Not a fan of Rush, so I haven't come across it yet. Thanks for the 411. As for the Xbox, nope. Not broken at all. Seen it on multiple 360's played, and it didn't look that good.

Your Assault rifles I believe, I unlocked many of the classes despite my weak playing-time and none of the scopes can be attached to global unlocks like the M14 and G3.

But I can attach a scope to one of the assault rifles?

You can attach any scope to any rifle, minus the non-class specific weapons like the G3 and M14 (shotguns/pistols too). That means you can attach either a Red Dot Sight or 4x Rifle Scope on any Assault class weapon, Medic class weapon, etc. The Recon class has access to the aforementioned scopes plus the 12x High Power Scope and Sniper Spotter (for obvious reasons).

Thanks Anaron. I guess I will be unlocking my first assault scope then tonight. I am about 1000xp away from unlocking it I think. I am growing tired of the iron sites.

You're welcome. The Red Dot Sight is quite handy. I use it more often than the 4x Rifle Scope. In my opinion, the RDS is much better for close quarters combat than the 4x Rifle Scope.

That is exactly what I am looking for. I generally use my sniper for medium to long, and assault for all close quarter. The red dot is ideal for me then.

My point exactly. It isn't transparent enough. And 9/10 times it actually hides the target, instead of allowing you to focus on it, it hides it! :@

Which means the target is really far away (because the enemy is so small). Hence the close quarter combat use I would think. Either way, I will be testing it out soon (once that bad boy is unlocked!).

Indeed, I doubt they've even seen a real Red Dot Sight? I have one right here and the closer you get to it, the smaller the reticule gets as well - Here, you almost have your eyed glued

to the damn thing and it's big as a house and as you mention, isn't transparent.

In CQC you have no need to scope. Surely, your aim should be good enough to deal with a few baddies at close range, without scoping?! x4 Scope all the way (Y)

PUT THE GUN DOWN DUDE!!!

Hahaha  Nah it's just for my airsoft rifle, despite being adult toys, all the accessories are real military grade hardware ( Depending where you buy it and how much you pay of course ).

The only time I use the 4x Rifle Scope is when I want to pick off people in the distance. For everything else, I use the iron sights or the RDS. It's just a matter of preference, really. :)
