They are good because they eliminate host advantage and the horrendous lag usually associated with client hosting :)

theoretically yeah, but have you played bad company 2 lately? their be rubber banding like it's a new hip hop trend... rarely have that issue with CoD, and when i do it usually due to my connection or IWNET realizes it and switches up the host.

That's not a dedicated server issue, that's DICE being incompetent with the server files.

You forgot:

- **** weak hit reg

- Rampant cheating

- Bullets that can take 90 degree turns and chase you round ****ING CORNERS.

OH SNAP THE MATRIX!!! and really? that's a new one to me.

you also forgot the ability to snipe with a shotgun

dedicated servers are only good if you can make your own servers and have COMPLETE control of them yourself. the way Dice/EA did it with battlefield is a tease at best, you pay for a server that in reality you don't have to much control at all...

Dedicated servers files has been leaked. You can host your own server for free now, if you so wish.

And some of the admin tools out there, are pretty slick with the options: http://www.bc2cc.com/

Ahaha. I think it's more like Wanted :).

The dedicated servers in BC2 are definitely a massive improvement over that slap in the face that IW gave us, but I'm still yearning for the kind of dedicated server control that older games have. It's funny, in a pre-MW2 world, these locked down dedicated servers would have made us all raise an eyebrow, but in a post-MW2 world, I'm just thankful that the game has dedicated servers at all.

That's game mechanics nothing to do with dedis though. :)

The bendy bullets is a known phenomenon in MW2. From how I understand it caused by aggressive lag compo since there is no dedicated host. :(

<<snipped>>

that's hiliarious... made me wanna play MW2 again though

Thought I would jump back in tonight. Glad to see the rubber banding & lagging issue is now all but fixed. However the hitboxes are still lol worthy. Once you learn how to exploit them there is no stopping you. I have no problem in make the game more noob friendly. But sometimes DiCE forget that some people already have very good aim. And once you increase the hitboxes, the scales tip in my favour. One round I was up front, and defence, and just slaughtering as they came though. I ended up with something like 20/1 without even trying.

Wasn't before long I was being called a cheater

Are you sure it's not just that your shots are actually being detected more accurately now? From my experience hardly anything changed with the hit boxes. It's hard to say exactly how it's working though so who knows.

And rediscovered how wonderful c4 is now against mcoms. You get 50 points per c4 on an mcom now and 250 for destroying one. The last few games I played I was baiting players to the mcoms loaded with c4 and getting around 500-700 points easily.

Nice

The game as been getting on my nerves far too much lately, so I've pretty much given up on it. I used to really enjoy it though...:(

Without sounding like an arrogant ****, my aim was pretty good before. And 99% of all my shots were registered no problem. Had no problem in taking down scores of enemies, and head shots were the norm. But maybe you are right, maybe my shots are being detected more accurately.

I did some minor testing. And for me at least, the hit boxes have changed. They are HUGE! Now I am hardly aiming for the head (well naturally I do) but now I just tend to aim for the general head area (once aiming for the left hip. I got a head shot. Same with just above right shoulder), instead of pixel perfect. Again, I could well be proven wrong. But to me the game shoots different from before.

C4 does indeed rock (Y)

if i had one wish, it would be for them to revert the game back to the form it was when it was released... because honestly since then, it's been all downhill.

The game's multiplayer was damn near perfect when it first came out...

+1

    • Poll: Grand Theft Auto VI price predictions, cast your vote by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe After years of waiting, Rockstar will be solidifying the launch date of Grand Theft Auto VI with the launch of pre-orders next week. While the studio has confirmed a date for this occasion, it is yet to attach a price to the highly anticipated game. So let's see what our readers think it will cost at launch. The Grand Theft Auto VI pre-orders will kick off on June 25 for digital and physical editions. Unless some last-minute changes happen, the release date will be November 19, 2026, across Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. Unfortunately, there's still no information about a PC version from the developer or the publisher Take-Two. Now the question becomes, how much will Grand Theft Auto VI cost at launch? The game is predicted by some analysts to be the biggest launch of an entertainment product ever. With the amount of hype that has been built behind it and with ballooning development costs, Take-Two may price this Grand Theft Auto entry differently from other AAA titles. The current price of a AAA game is $69.99. That norm almost rose to $79.99 before calming down. But with such a massive release, Grand Theft Auto VI may be the game that pushes the boundary again. It's also possible that Take-Two keeps the price relatively low to increase the number of players that jump in early and keep them hooked on Grand Theft Auto Online to spend on microtransactions for years to come. Keep in mind that the below poll is asking for a prediction of the standard edition price, not a deluxe or any other special edition that Take-Two will introduce for additional benefits. Also, there is the chance of the company splitting up the campaign and online portions. If you think that will happen, put your vote on what you think will be the total cost of the two.
