Much like it did with Battlefield 1943, developer DICE will add an additional map, Operation Hastings, once a community challenge is met in the multiplayer expansion Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam. However, this time DICE isn't making the challenge a collective kill count of 43 million. In keeping more with the spirit of cooperation in the game, the map will unlock once the community accomplishes 69 million team actions (double entendres abound).

In order to unlock the fifth Vietnam map, you'll have to heal, spot, repair, revive and resupply as often as possible ... but you were already doing that, right?

BFBC2 Vietnam will be drafted into service on December 21. Check out the Operation Hastings challenge video after the break.

69 million team actions will happen a lot sooner than kills, imo. Potentially 500+ team actions can be taken every game while only a few hundred kills at the most.

Anyways, it's funny that they have a reveal trailer for it when it was discovered more than 3 weeks ago that there would be a 5th map.

I'm curious as to if and when we'll be able to have more guns? Not being funny, but I've nearly unlocked everything, I WANT MORE GUNS! :p haha At least, more upgrades or something..

Vietnam?

No, normal BC2not just that, do we have to be stuck @ level 50 for the rest of the games life? I wish they didn't set such a limit...

Yeah, I know what you mean. That's what stops me going back to the game from Black Ops...even though BC2 is superior.

I wish they would get rid of ranks. Too many people use ranks as an indicator of real skill.

I know it's not a show of skill, but level 50 is obviously not high enough, also, a lot of people in time will reach that level and then you'll have loads of people at the same rank which will be very misleading...

When it comes to sound saying BC2 sounds like a "watergun" ESPECIALLY in comparison to cod is ridiculous. BC2 sounds are far better in every way, and they are also much louder.

COD does have better movement, but I think when it comes to sound bc2 certainly destroys it

Exactly. The sound in this game is fantastic.

I don't like the feel of weapon in BF:BC2, they just sounds like water-gun. I have both BF:BC2, COD:MW and COD:Black Ops but I just prefer COD. IMO, COD has the most realistic feels of all the FPS games out there...

A water-gun? There is something wrong with your speakers then. The sounds in BC2 are pretty beefy. And COD is no more realistic really; if it's realism you like then you'd play Arma2 or something.

    • Password Safe 3.72.0 by Razvan Serea Password Safe is a password database utility. Like many other such products, commercial and otherwise, it stores your passwords in an encrypted file, allowing you to remember only one password (the "safe combination"), instead of all the username/password combinations that you use. Once stored, your user names and passwords are just a few clicks away. Using Password Safe you can organize your passwords using your own customizable references—for example, by user ID, category, web site, or location. You can choose to store all your passwords in a single encrypted master password list (an encrypted password database), or use multiple databases to further organize your passwords (work and home, for example). And with its intuitive interface you will be up and running in minutes. PasswordSafe was originally designed by the renowned security technologist Bruce Schneier and released as a free utility application. • I've got a SoundBlasterX G6 that I use in my streaming setup. Sounds great to me and I've had zero issues with the ancient software package so far in Win11. That G6 has 7.1, Dolby, fully working SPDIF and since it's a USB device it's outside of my rig so I don't have to worry about EMF distortion. Looks like for now this is a pass for me as I think I have better hardware....
    • How do you connect 5.1 Speakers to this thing?
    • I agree with both of you... It's absolutely imperative that science is completely based on actual proven facts and hard evidence and is not considered dogmatic in any way. Science is not a religion and it will never be, and that's exactly how it's supposed to be.
