Bit disappointed there is nothing unique about it, its just a BC2 reskin, only plus about it is the flamethrower but that gets boring after about 2 minutes.

Disappointed? What were you expecting, exactly?

What gave you the impression that it was going to be anything more than a Vietnam era, weapons & maps, expansion?

Ok after playing for a couple more hours, I change my mind, Vietnam is very fast paced and I have been raging badly :p There's hardly any cover and everyone blends into the environment. It's a very big change of pace from BC2, which IMHO, is very good, it's like 2 games.

EA servers were acting up like crazy. But all in all, Vietnam is pretty good. Not a huge fan of the increased weapon damage, but my biggest gripe about it is the washed out look (looks like brightness is extremely high). For me it's a bit hard on the eyes.

But gotta love the grenade launcher and flamethrower sounds. FLUMP :D

Just got out of a game where my team absolutely refused to shoot down the attacking helicopters. The result? We spent the entire round haveing reinforcements dropped in on us. The worst part is at the last section they get TWO helicopters. Rage quit commenced.

That map, not sure of the name of it is absolutely terrible. There is literally no cover for the defending spawns and you can snipe right into the attacking spawn from the defending spawn area, as well. Terrible terrible map design DICE. It's the flat village map where the attacking team starts with a tank and heli.

Yeah fully agree, I tend to use a tank as I think I have shared, and it just got ugly on that map. I actually quit out of boredom because it was without a doubt the equivalent of base spawn rape, we just had that team cornered at their spawn. Even with 2 tanks and a heli that could just not get out. I will be avoiding that map.

Overall, I really like it though. That one map with the tunnels or whatever is a lot of fun, with all the hills, but talk about the definition of a choke point on that map, by C I think it was (if playing conquest). One enemy grenade got 7 kills. Not kidding. It was on the narrow path on the way to A.

Curious to see what this 5th map is like, but overall I like it a lot.

Errrrr - rank reset?! Was Rank 46 everything unlocked. Now back to Rank 1 with nothing...

Happened to me too, 3 times actually just a glitch, I quit the game, came back, and stats were back.

Just to prove I do fail epically sometimes...

Happens to the best of us man, no doubt about it. Actually happens to me more then I would like to admit. So much so, I am actually still trying to get my K/D Ratio above 1, right now it is at .96.

I think there must be some kind of glitch with the stats tracking as well, because 2 stats site and the in game stats all say I am at 191% accuracy!

Just had a great rush round at Oasis, we were attacking, ending up winning but were cutting it close a couple of times. I was always in there attacking the objective and was a bit annoyed the tanks weren't advancing. So when I respawned I grabbed a tank from our base and drove it literally right up to the mcom, needless to say we destroyed it that time, even if the tank was destroyed. You need to hold them off just enough to destroy it.

Yeah, I encountered my first hacker yesterday on a Vietnam map for the first time since the beta of BC2. The saddest part is that these people probably pay for their hacks.

I can understand cheating in single player games when something is done stupid or stupidly tedious for no reason, but in a multiplayer game? Sad.

This hackers name was [T-MOBILE] or some such combination of brackets on it.

Well, today i picked up Vietnam and BFBC2 for the PC (i had previously owned BC2 on the 360) and i went 1-6 on my first match. I used to do great on the xbox, but i don't even know where i am dieing from in this game. I spawn, i move, i randomly die. There was a rampant hacker on the server, but beyond that is the skill gap just THAT large? I enjoy a challenge, but not something frustrating. I was decent on 360, and i still got pwnd some games, but i always felt like i had a chance.

I would say give it a bit more time then one match, there is definitely going to be an adjustment period going from the console version to the PC version. I would also suggest if you can choose only punkbuster servers if you did not already, as I have personally yet to see any hackers, and I always stick to punkbuster servers. If it indeed was a punkbuster server and there was a hacker, it should hopefully get sorted out much sooner then later. Some view punkbuster as an annoyance, but I personally really like it.

But also I would say just from seeing peoples Veteran status on the PC when I play, there are a decent amount of people like myself who have pretty much been playing the series since the beginning, so you just have a decent amount of people who have a "feel" so to speak for the series itself, so the level of competition may indeed be a bit higher on the PC, but I do realize that is entirely open to debate and personal opinion, but I do feel that overall when I have played this game on the PC and 360 (for awhile I played both versions), I did get the impression that overall PC players had a more intuitive understanding of general gameplay itself.

Again though I would say just give it some more time and do not get to frustrated, I really think it will just take some time to adapt going from one platform to the other.

    • In addition to the "sidebar app list" and "Collections" features, Microsoft will also deprecate the "Drop" feature. Before you publish this news and credit another site, here is the original source: https://x.com/i/status/2067838711870439583 .
    • Looks like the 7.1 is fake effects, can it at least do real 5.1? It says 'virtual 7.1' in all descriptions.
    • You can't, if you didn't notice, it doesn't support surround at all, it's right in the spec list.
    • Hi — I’m always interested in soundcards. Like displays, I just want to know I’m getting as much clean “sonic juice” into my brain as possible as the years take their toll. I’m not entirely sure what to take away from this review, though. It doesn’t really tell me whether the AE‑X is a good product or who it’s actually for. Most of what I’m getting is: there’s a driver to install, here’s what it looks like, and here’s what’s in the box. There’s a lot of emphasis on the SPDIF input. When you mention not needing to switch headphones between console and PC — does that mean the PC has to be powered on just to pass audio through? That seems like a fairly big waste of energy. Is this more something a streamer would use alongside a capture card? How are you testing the sound? (Also, you might want to clarify that you’re using the headphones in wired mode when you mention they’re wireless.) You mention the lack of EMI shielding — how much real‑world difference does that make compared with typical motherboard audio? On multi‑channel: what exactly isn’t supported? Does this mean Windows spatial audio (Dolby Atmos for Headphones, DTS Headphone:X, etc.) won’t work, or just that the card itself doesn’t decode surround formats? And are there any true multi‑driver “surround” headphones left that would even use that? You also highlight support for high‑impedance headphones — but what does that translate to in practice? How does it compare to driving the same headphones from a normal device, and does it make any difference for everyday, lower‑impedance models? In short, who is this card actually targeted at?
