Need for Speed World

Checked it out for the first time yesterday and the best way to describe it is Carbon. Its Carbon almost exactly, but online with power ups and utterly horrible graphics. How far along is this? This feels like an Alpha to me, not a beta 2. I stayed with it for over an hour trying everything I could find (power-ups, leveling, races, cop chases, painting, vinyls) and Im very unimpressed. My main question is exactly how far along is this? I really like freeroam driving games, but they gotta do much better than this in every aspect I can think of. Is this going to be polished to an extent that it reaches the level of Burnout Paradise for example?

wait, is this a beta 4?

It's beta 4 or 5... I think it's their last beta before the official release. So many client errors, multiplayer races hardly ever start, can't upgrade your car other than vinyls and paint, my graphics settings reset whenever I open the client, in game graphics are pretty disgusting (red smeary lights while using a Turbo, run into a wall at 100mph and only your windshield cracks, etc....), world map has issues with clicking on icons, windows disappearing, etc....

I really do hope it magically becomes 100x better for official release. If not, well.... There's always test drive unlimited 2.

I gave it a spin yesterday... they need to optimize their engine, seriously. It feels like the same engine that powered Most Wanted to Undercover, where at its latest iteration it sucked horribly.

The initial world you're stuck in is, I'm assuming, what you'll get when the game goes live and if you don't pay up for the starter pack. NFS World isn't fully free to pay anymore; you need to eventually pay $20 (for now) to unlock the entire game. What you're stuck in right now is kind of like Carbon's city in some aspects.

The removal of the slow-mo effect from the game kind of kills the thrill of screwing around with cops.

Edit: Never mind :D

Got your PM, and I didn't recieved any code. Just this e-mail with a download link:

Congratulations! You're just 24 hours away from racing in Need for Speed World! But why wait? Get started early by downloading the game client and redeeming your SpeedBoost by clicking the link to your left.

WE CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU ON THE ROAD!

> START TIME - Wednesday, June 2 at 10:00 AM PDT / 19:00 CET> CLOSE TIME - Sunday, June 13 at 8:59 PM PDT / 05:59 CE Monday

I don't think anyone received any beta code/key.

Is it even ready? Sometimes when I start some of the races, I'm not sure if I'm in front or the middle of the pack. Also, the police seem to pass me by without even sensing that I'm racing, yet can chase me when I'm idle or going very slowly.

Scirwode

lol, how is it going to be released already?! It's probably gonna' flop badly. Way too many bugs and not a whole lot of features...

It's the pattern for every MMO out there, like All Points Bulletin, Age of Conan and others. Release buggy game and gradually fix bugs over time from user feedback.

    • I bought this game. Played it for an hour, and then got a refund from Steam. Not a fun game at all.

    • Forza Horizon 6 gets another hotfix for one of the game's online modes by Taras Buria Recently, Forza Horizon 6 players discovered an interesting glitch that allowed farming a crazy amount of in-game credits in a few minutes. Playground Games quickly pulled the plug on the exploit by disabling one of the game's online modes, and today, the studio is rolling out another hotfix. In my review, I complained about the game still showering gamers with cars, credits, and wheelspins. As such, earning money in Forza Horizon 6 is not a particularly difficult task. You simply have to play the game, crazy, I know. However, people still found an easier path to becoming a billionaire in Forza Horizon 6. All you had to do was purchase the Hummer EV, install a specific tune, shift in reverse while going at about 15 MPH, hit a wall, and get launched into the stratosphere at the speed of light. While mid-air, launch Eliminator and quickly get eliminated. Boom, the game just awarded you with a few million in-game credits. Initially, Playground Games disabled Eliminator to prevent people from farming credits. Now, following the release of the first balancing update, developers are rolling out a new update that re-enables Eliminator and gives users a free McLaren Sabre as a gesture of goodwill. Here is the changelog: One critical issue remains unpatched, though. There are quite a few reports of the game wiping gamers' saves, and developers are still looking into that. To avoid potential data loss, Playground Games recommends taking one of the steps outlined in a previously published support article.
