NeoXY
You want your external monitor to mirror your macbook display? If you want that to happen, go into system preferences > Display Preference. Under the arrangement tab, there should be a checkbox that says "mirror displays". Check that, and whatever you see on your macbook screen will also appear on your external display. Stetson
System Preferences > Displays. Click the Arrangement tab. Check Mirror Displays at the bottom. Edit: Whoops, NeoXY beat me to it. If you just want to use your Macbook with an external keyboard/mouse/monitor you can close the lid and then press a button on a plugged in keyboard and it will wake up and use only the external monitor. shan
Hi, With the mirror mode, the resolution on my mac and external monitor are same. I use 1900*1200 on my external monitor. Any way to adjust only on external monitor? Thanx

Any way to adjust only on external monitor? Thanx Mirror is mirror. If you don't want mirror, then don't use mirror. Instead use normal extended mode and make the second monitor main display (or/and grap and move the menubar in display setting from first monitor to second). AJerman
Yeah, what are you trying to do exactly? Use both monitors, or use just an external? My MacBook's screen is broken, so I use it on my 37" screen. Just plug in or pair a keyboard and mouse with the MacBook, then close the lid and press a button on the keyboard/mouse to wake it up. If you're trying to use both, but you want the external to be the primary display with the menu and dock, I think you can choose which display you want to be primary. You can't get the menu and dock on both though. (Unless you mirror, which means both screens will be stuck at the lower resolution of the two)
