[Official] Red Dead Redemption

Bloody Mexico sucks so friggin much ...... now it feels as if the entire flow has been broken as i get some work done in Blackwater.

BTW, how do i disarm 6 gringos without reloading ???? anyone manage that ?

Use Dead Eye and a gun with a big magazine like the evans repeater, it reloads for you automatically and it still counts for the achievement as long as you don't actually hit the reload button yourself.

I finally finished the single player not too long ago. The last leg of the game wasn't very traditional, and kind of took me by surprise that Rockstar would design the game with that kind of pacing. I did enjoy it, but it did come as a surprise.

As far as the "I Know You" quests, are there any consequences based on the moral choices you make? I think they could have played this out better than it was. But I always made the "good" voices and never went back yo do the bad ones so I have no clue.

Incoming Red Dead patch to ruin cheaters' fun

Tuesday 20-Jul-2010 9:41 PM Rockstar "actively working" on update, promises to ban cheats

Rockstar is working on a fix patch for Red Dead Redemption that aims to put dirty multiplayer cheaters out of business, and says it will ban anyone found to be cheating.

"We'd just like to let all fans and players of Red Dead Redemption Multiplayer know that we're aware a few rotten apples persist in the online world, trying to make the experience unpleasant for everyone else," said Rockstar.

"We are actively working on new features to counter against the isolated incidents of abuse that go on," estimating that the patch for the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game will be released "within the next month".

Rockstar also threatens use of the ban hammer. "Those who have been detected to be cheating beyond a shadow of doubt will be promptly banned from the Red Dead online world for a period of our discretion."

It didn't detail exactly what will be fixed in the patch, only saying that it'll "include measures to counter hacking and cheating", and "some anti-grief relief with some new features in Free Roam".

Rockstar explains that second part: "Those who are being bullied repeatedly in Free Roam will be given the option to flee by Transporting and respawning in a region of the map of their choosing. And those who are bullying repeatedly will face a new challenge: when a player gets a 6 kill streak in Free Roam, they will become "Most Wanted." This alerts other players of their status as a player-killer, and also sends NPC law response after them."

Just got this game the other day and I'm really enjoying it.

Biggest thing though...is that my horse keeps dying. I don't know why but when I'm riding I'll fall off and it'll just keel over in front of me. Why?

Aww. It's just annoying when I'm in the middle of nowhere and then randomly my horse just dies.

I hate duels too, for some reason I always end up dead even though I aim at their head and I press fire soooo much more than the other guy.

That's weird. I can't say that I've ever had a horse just die on me for no apparent reason. Snakes are definitely something you should watch out for, since like Chanser said, they're small and sometimes by the time you realize they're underneath your horse, it's already too late. Just listen for the rattling from the snake and the subsequent yelling from your horse.

The horse that Bonnie lets you keep when she takes you horse breaking early in the game is really good (the Kentucky Saddler). I used that horse for the entire game. It definitely shouldn't die on you unless it's attacked.

For duels, just make sure that you're aiming at key areas on your enemy. Wait for the crosshair to turn white before marking your target (if I recall correctly, white is good and red is bad). For random duels, I usually just disarmed the enemy by shooting their gun/hand and I never had a problem. The duels that you have to do for the story are a little more complicated since you must shoot them dead.

Since you've broken it in, go to the General Store in Armadillo, and buy the Kentucky Saddler. Then go out and click it in your inventory (or just whistle). You'll get a new horse. And you'll still be in line for the "use the same horse for 20 missions" achievement/trophy.

This same trick remains true for any other horse you break in.

Yup, that's what I did as well. It's expensive to buy the Kentucky Saddler certificate (I can't remember quite how much it was off the top of my head), but it's worth the cash. Besides, it's not like you use money for much else in this game anyways (apart from topping up your Medicine and Chewing Tobacco every now and then). So long as you do a decent amount of extra stuff you'll be swimming in money.

Although I still can't think of why your horse is just dying like that. I honestly don't know what it could be. I've had horses die on me (and then I subsequently loaded my game), but it was always from something obvious like a wolf attack.

In case anyone hadn't noticed, the Undead Nightmare pack comes out next week, with some new single player, multiplayer, and weapons.

Random note: Jumped on to play a bit the other day, declined the latest update, then went to check out the new outfits that released last week for free. Apparently, you need the new update to use the new outfits, and was told by the game that in order to get the new update, I had to "log into XBox Live". Joke of it is, I play it on PS3.

I couldn't help but think of Left 4 Dead 2 when I watched that trailer. Looks like they had some inspiration from Valve.

As for people's horses dying. Don't they just respawn? I've killed my own horse many times and I just whistle to call another one.

    • WordArt was cool. We now have color fonts as a substitute although Word only supports COLRv0 and COLRv1 (Fraud OS 11 only). The OpenType SVG color font format needs to be supported by Office. Adobe's apps support it
