ViperAFK
Opera is celebrating after hitting the 100 million mark in global users of its browsers. Opera has been boosted by the Windows ballot screen, which was brought in by Windows following the company's high-profile complains to the European Commission. And with a 50/50 split between PC users and people who use Opera on mobile devices, the company is celebrating a 30 per cent year-on-year growth for its flagship desktop browser, according to March figures. http://www.techradar.com/news/software/opera-hits-100-million-users-682824 Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/891954-opera-hits-100-million-users/ Share on other sites

Alan-
I just hope stuff like this doesn't go to their heads and then the end result being somewhat bloaty. I can think of one specific open source browser that had that happen to them. -KJ
Cool, congrats to them. /OT: The comment section there is hurting my head. The @ stuff just doesn't work as well as a quotebox for lengthy discussion. I think YouTube does the same thing :| Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/891954-opera-hits-100-million-users/#findComment-592481730 Share on other sites

Syanide
I prefer Firefox on desktop, but I've been one of the mobile (Mini) users ever since I first tried it on a Nokia 3510i :) Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/891954-opera-hits-100-million-users/#findComment-592482222 Share on other sites

PreKe
I just hope stuff like this doesn't go to their heads and then the end result being somewhat bloaty. I can think of one specific open source browser that had that happen to them. I think there's a small difference here. Opera has been slowly and steadily building its user base over several years. It never had Firefox's explosive and sudden success (after all, it didn't have Google promoting them all over the place). But it has constantly been growing since they removed the ads and made it completely free about four years ago. It's flagship desktop browser?Does it have another browser we don't know about? Opera for Desktop Opera Mini Opera Mobile Opera for Devices Probably more.
