[Dev Channel] Google Chrome 5.0.375 (for Linux, Mac OS X and Windows)

They need to make it so we can install themes without it destroying Aero. Ya know, make it so it only uses the button bar portion of the theme and leaves the glass alone. The grey does NOT fit the aero look as much as the blue did, because in Windows 7... a lot of toolbars and menus are a pale blue color, not grey.

Hi Chrome Fans :)

We've build a portable version of Google Chrome. BUT: with an updater: you can use Chrome for testing and switch via Updater between Dev/Beta/ Release/Chromium and vice versa :)

Have fun.

I hate the new grey. Luckily, Chrome is only a secondary browser for me. I use Windows 7 with Aero, and chrome at least LOOKED a bit consistent with my OS until they made the buttons grey. On top of that, the labels on top of the buttons are still blue, it looks really tacky. Dark blue on a funky shade of grey.

Sadly, I cannot just use a custom Google Chrome theme or else I lose Aero glass for Chrome, lose/lose situation for me. I don't like a non-aero-enabled window sticking out like a sore thumb next to other aero enabled windows. Very inconsistent, very ugly. Drives me nuts. Good thing Firefox is my main browser, lol.

On the Extensions page, search Aero and you'll find LOTS of themes with Aero support. I'm using the Mac theme with Aero, IT LOOKS SWEET!

I never knew that... and now I love Chrome even more.

That's because of the standard Windows 7 colour themes. Adjust it to 'White' and tone it down, it looks quite good!

has anyone else noticed that they turned tap preview in the superbar back off again

they had that feature for a few of the v5 builds but they turned it back off again a few builds back

i can see why'd you'd want to stay with v4 for now

v5 tends to randomly crash at times, but i use it because i like the improvements that have been made

but every man to their own i guess

@Brando212: It has been disabled due to it being too buggy. Once they've made a less buggy version of the feature it'll be reimplemented :)

interesting thought, they should have an option in settings (most likely in the "Under the Hood" tab) that gives you the option to have superbar tab preview enabled or not

Yeah, like in a shortcut where you have a link to the *.exe, like so: C:\Users\YOUR USERNAME\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe --enable-aero-peek-tab. Execute Chrome like that and you'll have the Aero Peek feature running again.

Not really a fan of the grey color in these latest builds :(

Hopefully they get Aero Peek functionality more stable though, it was pretty bad in the dev build before this. Those tiny little windows would appear when you minimize Chrome; it was quite a wreck. :p

I tried running Peacekeeper in Opera, but it crashed at the end. Anyways, Chrome destroys Firefox.

I like the grey a lot more than the nasty baby blue.

    • Out of interest, why? It's isolated from the rest of the components, is linear, and is custom built for the X9, it has no noise issues either and all of the high-end space of amps and DACs have internal linear PSUs basically.
    • Quite why Meta decided to crowbar a social network feed onto an AI app I really don't know, but this is one of their most spectacularly bad ideas. I think it's clear they don't focus test anything there, and there are no product managers that go through the product manager process properly at all.
    • Ah! Say no more - yeah, I had a feeling that those were the kinds of workloads you might have been referring to. Makes sense; it's a shame NVidia's simply uncontested in that segment. Here's hoping prices drop back down soon to original MSRPs, though at least you're not in too much of a rush then!
    • Lets just hope they don't jump to an American corporation like RedHat.
