The theme is still far from finished by the looks of things. If you compare the screenshot above to this, it shows. Also there's a load of PSD's on there if someone wants to recreate the theme exactly to specification.

Please forgive my lack of knowledge and the lack of time I have for research... what is D2D and what will it provide me with in terms of 'nicety'? :)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Direct2D

You'll get nicer fonts for one with D2D.

The problem I have when enabling D2D is that the pages load, but sometimes the rendered page isn't shown, just a blank one. If I minimize and then maximize Firefox, the page appears.

Running Vista with a DirectX 10 card.

I'm Also running vista, and this happens to me to. Also, the blank page has images of all the flash objects that were in the window, so if i was watching youtube, the page would have a frame from the youtube video on it. Does anyone know of this happening in windows 7?

how do you activate the tab candy and that?

Hit the "panorama" button, which is next to the dropdown on the right of your tab bar.

It probably isn't there if you have an existing profile, so you can add it using rightclick/customize and choosing "tab groups". Put it wherever you want, but I believe it belongs between the "new tab" button and the "tab list dropdown" button.

Alt-view / group your tabs also brings it up.

Happens every now and then to me in Firefox 3.6 as well as in 4.

Really goddamn annoying :(. It makes it impossible to click the X (close) button on the firefox window, and the only way to exit out of Firefox is to either end the process, or use the "Firefox" button in the corner, which kills all my other windows as well.

D2D working fantastically here, I love this thing.

0. Make sure you have the latest Adobe Flash Player version.

1. Go to pandora.com (USA only, no need to login)

2. Note constant CPU usage by plugincontainer and firefox

3. Disable D2D

Only at pandora.com? I don't live in the USA, so i don't care. D2D Works fantastically for me too! ;)

... and all sites with similar flash content.

... use significantly more CPU power than without D2D. I would guess 3x increase in CPU usage.

So that feature is already finished and it is enabled per default in the beta browser? And it's not gonna get better in later releases?

The premise of D2D is promising if they can deliver in final release. Read up on the link to the wikipage given above.

D2D is enabled if (DX10 == true).

There are D2D bug reports for overall and case based perf. increase.

There are also two bug reports dealing w. bad D2D flash performance.

Whether flash D2D issues will be fixed, the answer may be "yes".

For now, I will snarl at anyone who praises FF's D2D implementation.

:)

Loading && GUI && plugin loading performance suffer with D2D.

D2D does offer scrolling perf. increases though....

how do you enable/disable D2D

i can't seem to find it in about:config

How to Turn on Direct2D & DirectWrite for Windows 7 and Windows Vista SP2 (With Platform Update):

1. Type: "about:config" in the 'AwesomeBar' and hit Enter.

- Search for "gfx.font_rendering.directwrite.enabled".

- Select "gfx.font_rendering.directwrite.enabled" and double click to set the Pref to "True"

2. In about:config still, Search for "mozilla.widget.render-mode".

- If its not there then add it. (Right Click anywhere and select "NEW" then "Integer". Add in the pref without quotes.)

- In the next Dialog type in a value of "6" without quotes.

3. Restart The Browser.

If successful, the fonts on the page and browser should be anti-aliased. Websites with large images should load faster, and any SVG examples should be much faster.

To turn it off:

In about:config, Search for "mozilla.widget.render-mode".

- If its not there then add it. (Right Click anywhere and select "NEW" then "Integer". Add in the pref without quotes.)

- In the next Dialog type in a value of "0" without quotes.

    • Dude, it's a .reg away from a permanent modification. If you're a power user, look it up and keep the .reg and stop being a crybaby expecting MS to include customization for everything on a generalist OS. The default is what's the best UX for the majority of the userbase, non techie people.

    • Studio MDHR reveals Cuphead sequel and an 8-bit platformer spin-off by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Studio MDHR has been rather silent about its next major gaming project since the release of Cuphead back in 2017. However, that ended today during the Summer Game Fest presentation, with the studio revealing not one but two project announcements. First, the studio confirmed that it is currently in the middle of developing a brand-new Cuphead game, bringing back the iconic characters for another adventure. Just like the last game, this is slated to be a fully hand-animated endeavor. This also means there isn't a release date attached to it yet. “Craftsmanship is at the heart of everything we do here at Studio MDHR,” says co-founder Chad Moldenhauer. “When it came time to peel back the curtain and share a little bit about what we’ve been up to, we couldn’t imagine a more fun way to do so than with today’s Special Bulletin. The studio is working on this new Cuphead with help from Toronto’s Stop Motion Department and Continue Agency. At the same time, Studio MDHR also revealed that another part of the team has been working on a different Cuphead installment. Dubbed the Mighty Cuphead Adventure, this is taking a different art direction to the original. "In true Studio MDHR fashion, this game goes beyond just taking inspiration from the classics of the 1980s… it is actually built with technology of the era," the studio explained. "That's right: Mighty Cuphead Adventure is programmed in assembly language and designed with the exacting specifications of the Sega Master System home gaming console in mind." Aside from releasing on PC and modern consoles, Mighty Cuphead Adventure will even be playable on the 1985-released Sega Master System. A release date has not been announced just yet.
    • Any decent ITSM will A) have a web form that allows a user to raise a ticket, if you're writing an email you can write a ticket. B) Monitor a mailbox and auto-generate tickets based on inbound mails for those users that really can't get their heads around the concept that if you have an issue you go to support.mycompany.com and fill in the box. From your description you're having users email the desk, and then having a human read each one and manually raise a ticket on behalf of the user.
