Something changed a while ago, but I guess if you're only using official releases you'd just now have found out. You're going to have to go back a few pages and read. I'd just give you the script but I don't feel like digging for it and I'm sure you're capable of finding it. I'm off to bed, so good luck.

No, that's actually the normal look, it just hasn't been themed yet.

It's the "escape button", i.e. it's there to have an easy way to close tab candy without having to look for the tab group you had open.

I know what it does, I just don't need it and if activate my "tabs on top" script it is situated beneath my window control buttons so I want it gone!

By the way: I found THIS modified fission add-on for FFb6 on the developer's forum. But don't use it older versions of FF like beta 5 because it's buggy ...

Why is it every time I have a flash player open on a tab changing tabs takes ages and sometimes doesn't even work? That and the fact that opening FF takes ages compared to Chrome.

I think it is time to update your computer.

I recommend at least a netbook to avoid those issues.

Internet Download Manager works in the 9/10/2010 JG Nightly, after it updates itself on 9/11 it crashes and gives error related to IDM extension. 9/12 & still broke. If I enable it, crash! Have to use 4.0b5 to disable it, then restart 4.0b6preJG. Suck!

Try IDM 6 beta ;) !

you're willing to risk using developmental betas meant for testing, and you're complaining about compatibility issues?..c'mon And the problem with addons becoming corrupt etc is a known problem

LOL! I got that last night and I was just coming here to post a link myself :D

I.D.M. 6.0.2beta still works with it's extension disabled due to advanced browser integration, seems pointless to have an extension. I am ware that addon compatibility is a known issue! I am using IDM 6.0.2 beta. I thought the purpose of this thread was share issues or things relating to Firefox. If a particular extension is causing a crash sharing that with others is appropriate. If this thread is not for users to complain about crashes or issues related to firefox then I see 100 posts in the wrong place. Kaboose likes to poke the bear.

my comment was purely based on this "Suck!"

It might, they're aiming to render the entire interface via OpenGL.

Flash attempts to use the graphics card for rendering now, and it'll go down that path in Firefox 4 (and Safari as well actually, but it might be special casing that or something)

*sigh* That's terrible news, but not entirely unexpected. I guess I'll have to weigh my options and see what will happen. Maybe I can find a way to run Firefox 3.6 and 4 simultaneously and use one or the other on a situational basis.

The render-mode preference is outdated, Direct2D is controlled by it's own pref now.

And the DirectWrite pref is only there so you can mix it with old GDI rendering, mainly for performance testing I would think (Since it'd be slower than plain GDI or plain Direct2D)

    • Microsoft announces the return of Xbox exclusives with Gears of War and Clockwork Revolution by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Microsoft had plenty of announcements to make today at the Xbox Games Showcase celebrating 25 years of the gaming brand. Now, under the leadership of the new Xbox CEO Asha Sharma, Xbox games are going back to their original release methods. She appeared in the livestream itself to announce the return of Xbox console exclusives. This means two major upcoming games from first-party studios won't be coming to PlayStation or Nintendo consoles: Gears of War: E-Day from The Coalition and Clockwork Revolution from InExile. Both titles will only be coming out on Xbox Series X|S consoles and Windows PCs, ditching any plans they had for PlayStation. "These are not timed exclusives," confirmed Microsoft. "We’re committed to investing in and growing XBOX both on console and beyond." The company confirmed that any already announced Xbox titles for PlayStation, under previous leadership, will continue to arrive for the rival platform. This means games like the new Halo remake, Forza Horizon 6, Fable, and State of Decay 3 will still be available on PlayStation, either at launch or later. It sounds like any new projects announced by the company will avoid other consoles in the same way. Microsoft first opened the floodgates by bringing titles like Sea of Thieves, Grounded, Hi-Fi Rush, and Pentiment to PlayStation and Nintendo consoles back in 2024. Since then, almost every new game release from Xbox Game Studios has arrived for rival consoles alongside Xbox and PC. This decision follows Sony's plans to ditch its own multiplatform releases too. Outside of multiplatform live service titles, the PlayStation maker is even abandoning its PC porting endeavors that started years ago.
    • I'm missing the beginning part of this equation... but for the sake of the convo, you don't get to take a $250(?) set of normally priced RAM, jack it up to over $500/600/800 just because of a market shift, then lower it back down to more than what it was originally and call that a "sale". Not the author of this post... the manufacturer/seller.

    • no thanks is overpriced and its not the fastest ram neither.
    • It is, but it also has a bad performance reputation even on high-end gaming PCs. Some people say it's the engine's fault, others say it's the games developers' fault, who knows... At the end of the day, for the average gamer, the take is this: PC game with Unreal Engine 5? Be affraid and cross your fingers, it's a 50/50 chance.
