Beyond Godlike Posted April 2, 2011 Share Posted April 2, 2011 Both AVG and Avast and both put out nasty signatures that caused damage to people's OS's, AVG on multiple occasions. AVG has crap detection to. Avira and MSE are my recommendations. MSE seems to be the best overall though and makes me wonder why anyone pays for AV. (?5 at most you should be paying per year) I use Kaspersky Internet Security, has a firewall and everything else which is more important these days, ?3 a licence. I've bought 20 copies recently for friends & family. Kronir Posted April 2, 2011 Share Posted April 2, 2011 I've been using Avast Free for years now and am happy with it; Avast 6 seems pretty solid. I've used MSE a couple of times before and it is pretty good as well.
