So, I think it'll be a good idea to have a thread per game otherwise we'll have a cluster**** in the World Cup thread.

The game will be held on Loftus Versfeld Stadium, Pretoria on June 13th at 16:00 (local time)

Referee: H?ctor Baldassi (Argentina)

I think this will be an interesting game as both sides are competitive IMO it's a close call but I'll go with Serbia 2-1.

Feel free to discuss.

god these games are so boring so far

Shouldn't come as a surprise - Most teams tend to just bog down and play the defense game at the very beginning of the tournament, just to play it safe.

It's pretty common knowledge actually, the fun starts as it progresses and we start to hit the brackets that matter - Then it's about the offense and each game's outcome

matters greatly.

So expecting the world at the very start of the world cup is a bit naive :)

Hugely dissapointing because I'm originally from Serbia..

This is not the team and skill Serbia showed in qualifications.. it was awful play.

Ghana fully deserved it.

You only saw a glimpse of how good Serbia could play when they lost 1 player. They started coming back and playing as they should and then bad luck with the penalty.

But I don't get why the hell the coach obviously told them to play it safe and almost play to just hold the tie.. the worst type of thing you could do.. If they attacked from the start like they can, they would've beat Ghana 3:0 or something.. but they held back, let Ghana attack and finally lost by that freakin' penalty.

Serves them right. I'm glad for Ghana.. they played offensively and were trying super hard and were rewarded with a win.

Interestingly enough Ghana coach is from Serbia too :) That's probably why he knew how Serbian team would play for the most part.

Overall very disappointing game for Serbia. They might as well pack their suitcases as they'll lose from Germany without a doubt and that's it.

    • One reason it might be running hotter is dust build up within the cooling or perhaps the paste has dried out. You could always try repasting your old GPU and cleaning the cooler. Your experience in Linux will be much better with an AMD GPU; the performance in gaming is much closer to Windows than nVidia would be. I personally think on Windows, AMD drivers are junk.
    • I reviewed it back in March, but I didn't have a 5070 at the time https://www.neowin.net/reviews/amd-rx-9070-review-vs-rtx-5070-4070-and-rx-9070-xt-7800-xt--just-good-enough/ When I reviewed the 9070 I did have a 5070 to compare it against, so the scores are there for the 9070 XT. it outperforms the 5070 in raster, and is barely neck and neck in Ray Tracing. So it's better than a 5070 in everything but Ray Tracing where it is neck and neck, or just under. To be honest, the uplift from 3080 when it was new to the 9070 XT is not as great a step up. If you can find a used 4080 Super for around the same money, you would probably be better off, but if you only want to buy new then the 16GB 9070 XT is the best value for money in its category.
    • I really hope the author's health is ok. Squirreling away a official backup of this software. Looks like the internet archive already cached a copy as well - https://web.archive.org/web/20...ldbit-soft.fi/software.html
    • AMD is supported out of the box in linux because of their open source driver. Nvidia does not. All my systems are amd and all of them work nicely on linux arch without doing anything.
    • Never had a problem with TPM and started using that many years ago in Win10. Through several motherboards and OS versions, it just does what it does without complaint. My games library doesn't even know it's there. Secure boot does a lot more than support anti-cheat, as it came along long before anti-cheat software. I've used it religiously since before I started using TPM, and I always liked it for being able to nullify virus contagions that try their best to come in underneath the firmware during boot, so that the OS doesn't see them, etc. That is its purpose, imo. I'll never understand why people who elect to use another OS feel compelled to run down Windows... I guess they need to do that to feel secure about their choices? I run Windows because it supports all the software (including games) natively that I want to buy, and I've never had to run down another OS to make me feel better about it. (Although it's certainly possible to do that, of course...) Win10 is on a ventilator atm, and Win11 is very close to being free, and I finally got to stop running StartAllBack as I moved to the Experimental/Dev channel and my 26300.8553 build supports the moveable taskbar and it's running fine at the top of the screen! Finally, my last major dislike of Win11 is being rectified! So, I'm not at all surprised to see Win11's share of the Steam survey hitting 70%.
