Internet Explorer 6 Full Download

For reasons I won't get into ( :blush: ), I recently had to totally reinstall IE. Since I didn't want to reinstall XP just to get my browser back, I looked (and looked, and looked) for a way to download just the browser.

After much Googling, I found http://www.desertdwarf.com/archives/000012.html

Just in case somebody else needs it. :whistle:

(Oh, and you might need to go through regedit and search for Internet Explorer, but don't delete anything but keys that mark your Version number, and retry the installer after each deleted key)

I would have put it in a Windows forum, but it is applicable to all versions, not just XP/2k... if I'm wrong, sorry.

If you had read the page I linked to, MS got the syntax for the command wrong. I seen that article. :)

They must have changed the syntax at some point, I've d/led and installed for 2 different languages and 3 different versions of IE with this article as reference. :blink:

yeah if you select the download for each version of windows it supports, those are the right sizes. if you select only ONE version to install for, then the size is much smaller...

60-80 Mb for Pre 2k/XP versions (5.01) is still pretty darn bulky, imho. :sleep:
