Here are the first two photos from DreamWorks Studios? Real Steel, which Opens in theaters on November 18, 2011. The Shawn Levy-directed film stars Hugh Jackman, Evangeline Lilly, Dakota Goyo, Kevin Durand and Anthony Mackie.

Official Synopsis:

A gritty, white-knuckle, action ride set in the near-future, where the sport of boxing has gone hi-tech, ?Real Steel? stars Hugh Jackman as Charlie Kenton, a washed-up fighter who lost his chance at a title when 2000-pound, 8-foot-tall steel robots took over the ring. Now nothing but a small-time promoter, Charlie earns just enough money piecing together low-end bots from scrap metal to get from one underground boxing venue to the next. When Charlie hits rock bottom, he reluctantly teams up with his estranged son Max (Dakota Goyo) to build and train a championship contender. As the stakes in the brutal, no-holds-barred arena are raised, Charlie and Max, against all odds, get one last shot at a comeback.

They were doing filming where I work for this yesterday (Renaissance Center in Detroit / the GM building) ...most of the time just looked like a lot of people standing around doing nothing :p

Sadly, no Evangeline Lilly :( Hugh Jackman was around, but I didn't get any pics of him on set. I have photos of the lobby they made-over for the movie and some of the cars they are using. We think they *may* have had the bust of one of the robots, but they kept it covered the whole time. Several of the photos aren't that clear, sorry...they were really strict about taking photos any where near it all day (constant policing of any area that had direct sight into it), but luckily my office is on the front of the building where they were shooting :p Plus I snuck in shots the day before they did some shooting, but after they reworked our lobby

SkyyPunk, I also work in the RenCen. I stumbled across this site after googling to find out what was going on. You must have taken those pics within minutes before I got down there. I can't wait to see what the full setup looks like. Although as an amateur roboticist I was disappointed to find out that there is not going to be real robotic boxing at the RenCen. The info on this site is the best I've been able to find on the net about this film. I will continue to follow this thread for further updates.

I'm mean no disrespect to anyone anticipating the film, but am I the only one who feels like this is the worst premise for a film ever? I have no idea how it got green lit unless there's something far more to the story than the general premise.

I agree terrible idea for a movie. I actually told one of the crew members that I was upset because for a moment I thought there was going to be real robot boxing. Actually I don't understand why there isn't real robot boxing. We can send robots to mars but can't make them beat each other up for entertainment? I would rather watch that than a bunch of CGI fakes on a movie that will probably be terrible.

Agreed...only two reasons I am going to see it: 1) Evangaline Lilly (this is key), 2) filmed where I work, so itd be neat to see it come to life

And Bob, do you work for GM or one of the other bazillion companies in the ren cen :p

A few more pics attached (again, just the EVO, I didn't have my main camera with me :p)

    • Supposedly it's fixed on Series consoles: https://support.forza.net/hc/e...e-Issues-in-Forza-Horizon-6 This game is so much better than FH5, and it's all because of the map. It's diverse, big, and so much to see and do. I've bought every single Forza Motorsport and Horizon game, and by far my least played is FH5 at 100 hours, followed by the latest Motorsport. They've finally made a good one with FH6
    • Sorry to be that guy but, Given Trump won again even after a failed first term it would appear attacking the other side is how to gain Government in America. Voters when it came down to it didn't give a s**t about those Democratic achievements and voted for Trump over an intelligent, qualified mixed race woman. We need to face up to this uncomfortable reality. There are more Americacan voters who support racism and christian bigotry along with defending and supporting pedophilia, adjudicated rapists, multiple time convicted felons etc than those who don't. Btw, that is how the world sees America now. Not that Trump voters care as they attempt to cocoon themselves in a white supremacy bubble.
    • That's not clickbait. Clickbait is headlines like, "You'll never guess what this person looks like now" for example. For goodness sake, take a look around the internet if you think this is clickbait. How do sites survive if people don't click through to articles? How many people in all honesty would have clicked this if it had your suggested headline? You and those upvoting your post won't be happy until the web is a couple of hundred websites all behind a paywall.
