IMO they should also mention kart racing and Top gear test track on the case.

Maybe there will be a sticker on the front, lol.

But I wouldn't be surprised if the Top Gear test track is in the adverts here at all, and I suspect they will do somehting with GT5 when the new Top Gear series comes back, whenever it does after this Stig fiasco.

I guess I hadn't seen it confirmed before, but it appears that split screen is in the game? The box back does indeed say 1-2 players.

I thought it was confirmed as it was put in GT5P, they did mention it in a press release thing *goes to find*

*comes back* yes here we go, "Arcade mode lets players take in the stunning tracks and environments of Gran Turismo 5 alone or with a friend in split-screen two-player mode."

Great news! Thanks man. I just hadn't seen that in my research. I know we have it in the Prologue, but I never assume everything will be the same when moved to the retail final.

Out of the total 32 players in a online lobby 16 can race Standard/Premium cars, in a cart race the whole 32 player lobby can then race each other, hope that clears that up but perhaps there might be a turn based system for players... 16 players per session don't know how the online portion completely works yet.

gotcha (Y)

i retract my lynching statement... sorry AB

updated the first post with the specs posted on the back of the box

The box art I posted is just for display only, may not be final :p

Which will probably mean GT5 shipping with 3.42 as a requirement rofl.gif

I hope so, stinkin' pirates.

I would think if you could have 32 players out at once the box would say that, I mean it would definitely be a selling point.

Well 16 is the selling point cause 32 is not available in every mode, and certain types of media will take it out of context.

I dunno.... The marketing types would normally jump on whatever looks best on the box, and if there's just one mode that can do 32 players they would use it as an excuse to post that number. Well, the box art might not be final anyways...

Not everyone is using jailbreak for pirating games. However, there are plenty of people defending Sony's move on trying to block it, yet they run modded Xbox 360's

It could be to keep the cover clean, but they could do 32 online kart, 16 online car, just so they can get the most out of it. 32 racing all at the same time on one track would be amazing, and probably the first in consoles this gen. w00t.gif

It might be possible to do 32 online fully but we don't know, PD is being very tight lipped about everything and not divulging every detail, but there is more news on the way in 7 days.

Nah there's no way there is 32 cars online. It's as we know, 16 online, 16 able to spectate in a 32 player lobby.

Only reason karts could go to 32 is less polygons.

I figured if the karts are half the size of the cars, that could possibly do 32 on the track though. But I agree, it's probably the whole 32 player lobby thing.

TGS might give us all the final answers? Maybe the track list, the car list, the feature list, etc?

True i forgot that stupid Polygon budget, 200,000-500,000 so many.

and I don't think it's to keep the box clean ;)

    • It's time to say goodbye to Edge and switch back to Firefox. There's no way to disable the ugly rounded corners that appear everywhere. Not even on the page frame. No one uses screens with rounded corners, you idiots.
    • Being on Github makes it more trustable since I can see the code at any point.
    • Gen Atlas is the next game from Shadow of the Colossus creator, this time with giant robots by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe The mind behind widely well-received games like Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, and The Last Guardian, Fumito Ueda, showed up at Summer Game Fest today, and that was to reveal his latest project. Being developed by genDESIGN, Gen Atlas is incoming with what looks to be plenty of mech and robot action. Watch the reveal trailer, which makes not much sense, above. The game will have players waking up on an abandoned planet where deserted facilities and grand designs from the original creators remain. Soon, they will stumble upon a colossal robot, from which players gain access to the power to change the world. "Across an endless expanse of time, the remnants of those forgotten constructs begin to move once more," adds the studio. The gameplay snippets seen in the trailer show the player character climbing giant robots (as expected from the creator), while also controlling these titans somehow as well. This is a fully single-player open-world adventure. “The team and I are grateful to all the fans who’ve been eager to learn more about our game,” says Fumito Ueda, CEO and creative director of genDESIGN. “Their passion and enthusiasm has always motivated and inspired us. We hope to share an experience that inspires moments of quiet wonder and discovery.” Before gaining the name Gen Atlas, Ueda first announced this project back in 2024 with the codename Project Robot. Interestingly, this will be a project being funded and published by Epic Games, which should mean that a Steam release is out of the question. Gen Atlas will be releasing on Epic Games Store, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. A release date has not been announced just yet.
    • How backwards can you have it? Yes, Linux was gaining because of Linux handhelds and the push for gaming compatibility, but that's not desktop users, it barely converts anyone who owns a SteamDeck, though it helps for those who wanted to do it, but anyways, the AI+RAM debacle helped Linux because people can't easily upgrade their PCs easily and many hate AI so they'd be incentivized to try Linux.
