Just like they said it would be released in 2007, oh wait!

Just like they said it would be released in 2009, oh wait!

Just like...yeah you get the idea. Don't take anything they say as a guarantee, cause quite frankly their track record is **** and their word meaningless.

Indeed. thumbs_up.gif

We'll find out exactly how long a "little longer" is very soon.

Source.

It's sounding good. :)

NOT EXCUSABLE, PS3 STILL BEING SOLD, PD SUCKS, SONY LIES, GAME WILL BOMB, ILL BUY IT SECOND HAND IN 6 MONTHS TIME laugh.gif

Im with many, I will now wait until I can get a used copy, I will not give them my money. If Poly was not owned by Sony it would have gone out of business a long time ago, you can not do stuff like this in the real world when your existence relies on game sales.

Have you ever looked at GT sales? They make tons of money, Prologue itself sold over 4 million copies, so no they really are nowhere near going out of business laugh.gif

Seems like developers can't win these days. If they hold a game back to fix bugs and improve it they get slated, and if they release the game as fast as possible and full of bugs (ie: F1 2010 and most other games) they also get slated. Providing when it is released it has as few bugs as possible and as many features as possible, I will be happy.

I was and still am planning on getting it for Christmas.

No, this is not a "let's feel sorry for the developers" situation. A delay is fine and holding back a product to further polish it is fine. But people will get upset when it's in the extremes. Developers are either rushing their games out the door or just taking an EXTREMELY long time to get it out the door. It's not like the golden days where a product would see a one-time delay for a few months and we end up with a solid product.

Especially when it comes to one of the most ambitious racing games ever made. If the delay as it's stated so far ends up a few weeks you can look back at topics like these and see how childish some people really do act.

Yes but it's pretty clear the game is almost complete this time given the media coverage.

And the first time the game was scheduled to be released was 2008, get it right PS3 lover boy ;)

I'm pretty sure at one point it was going to be a launch title.

They wont go out of business because Sony keeps them alive. If they were an independent company they wouldn't survive, that's my point. When you do not have the customers to worry about or even selling a game in the last 4 years you can make decisions with no fear or repercussions. Regardless they wont see a penny of my money, I will buy used.

You do that, stick it to the man! :p

Won't matter anyway, the game will most likely sell 10 million+.

Title / Units (K)*

----------------------------------------

Gran Turismo = 10,850

Gran Turismo 2 = 9,370

Gran Turismo 3 A-spec = 14,890

Gran Turismo Concept Series = 1,560

Gran Turismo 4 ?Prologue? = 1,400

Gran Turismo 4 = 11,060

Gran Turismo 5 ?Prologue? = 4,950

Gran Turismo PSP = 1,960

Total = 56,040

According to polyphony.co.jp

If you count sale to sale ratio with gt4 , gt 5 sale will be over 14 mill  (just jk btw). GT series has been a really good in it own right, but gt5 being big as it is it's hard to me to fathom what the developers has to go thru to implement the new 3.5 restriction.

Well if the other topic is to be believed they want to have around 7 million copies ready for shipping for a worldwide release - http://www.neowin.ne...ecurity-breach/

That's a headache of an issue repressing all those discs  Sucks to be Sony right now, however as I said in there developers/publishers will do anything to help curve day 1 piracy, even if that means stirring up the hornets nests which are online gaming forums. If the game is AAA I'm sure they're happy to put up with a few extra weeks of bitching if week 1 sales are going to be in the 7 million bracket.

More Info

Possibly, we'll be really in the game. Anyone remembers 2006 GTHD project that was canned? Here is one very old promo-screen where rally driver is actually walking around the car. Surprises are apparently awaiting:

gthd5_qjpreviewth.jpg

Now this:

Eph5m3wkNfRSWNw.jpg

Screen above says we'll be able to change the clothes (remember Tourist Trophy? Now we see the guy walking around in civil clothes in the new trailer and if you remember on of the first screens form Nurburgring, there was a guy driving an SLR in civil clothes with sunglasses on).

Here is the translation:

"First, select a clothing style worn by the driver(A-SPEC DRIVER)

Please note that clothing once selected, can not be changed again" (thanx to Whknky at GTPlanet)

If the photo for the "User" can be replaced with the PSEye snapshot of our beautiful faces, than it is plausible we'll be able to "exist" in the very game (something like Loeb's face exists in his races inside Special Hall).

Sceen above is apparently a real GUI screen for the very beggining of the game - 20,000 credits as a pile for start.

Global servers confirmed (dedicated?) in the article linked below.

And they're mentioning only 20 tracks in the article again. Hm, hm.

    • Google are hyprocrites for signing this. They have been pulling the same dirty tactics as Microsoft, only they do it on Android and ChromeOS.
    • In some countries the law has forced Microsoft to display a menu on a fresh install of Windows which asks which web browser you want and it will install that browser. This doesn't add any bloat to Windows. It simply an additional step when setting up a new PC.
    • Chrome is also a first party browser on Android and ChromeOS. And on those systems, Google is pulling the same dirty tactics as Microsoft does on Windows.
    • Unofficial script lets you install unreleased Windows 11 features without Microsoft Account by Sayan Sen Microsoft has been steadily evolving the Windows Insider Program over the years, introducing new channels and testing paths that allow enthusiasts to experience upcoming and yet-to-be-released Windows features (some interesting hidden ones too) before they reach the public. However, one long-standing requirement has remained largely unchanged as users are generally expected to enroll in the Program and with a Microsoft account. That's where a third-party tool called "OfflineInsiderEnroll" can help. OfflineInsiderEnroll is said to be a lightweight script that enables access to Windows Insider Program builds on systems that are not signed in with a Microsoft account. Essentially the tool configures the necessary Insider settings locally and hence allows users to select and switch between available preview channels while continuing to receive builds through the normal Windows Update channel. If you are wondering how it manages to do so, it is made possible by a Registry value known as TestFlags. When configured to"0x20", Windows stops communicating with Microsoft's online Insider enrollment services thus preventing locally configured Insider settings from being overwritten. This allows the script to apply its own channel configuration directly through the Registry as Windows Update does not verify whether a device has been officially enrolled in the Insider Program or not. Previously the utility has had already supported the traditional Insider branches including Dev, Beta, and Release Preview. However following Microsoft’s recent restructuring of its preview channels, the script has now been updated. The latest OfflineInsiderEnroll version, 2.6.6, adds support for the newly introduced Insider channel lineup. As such, users can now choose from several Experimental channels in addition to Beta and Release Preview options. The update also retains tools for refreshing the Insider cache, resetting Insider settings, and completely stopping Insider enrollment when needed. Keep in mind though that will need elevated privileges when running the script (run as Admin). You can get the latest version of OfflineInsiderEnroll from this page on its official GitHub repo.
    • The "Classic" Outlook has done that for a few years as well. The option to even change that is really hidden away too... It really shouldn't be hard to respect user defaults. Sadly we are the product now, not Outlook. To change in the Classic Outlook: File > Options > Advanced > change "Open hyperlinks from Outlook in"
