I got none of it, it didn't move an inch and it was doing 300+ km/hr on the straight at Le Mans (with no chicanes) and the airbrake didn't raise either when breaking at the end of the straight, was completely static. Not to mention the car itself looks even more rubbish then the pictures we have seen of it....I guess it's possible they gimped the PSP import version? I haven't had the chance (or credits) to try purchasing it in GT Life and seeing if there is a difference.

Is the car the standard version or premium? If its the standard version that would most likely explain why it doesn't look as nice and why the wing isn't animated. Then again after searching around I'm not sure about the wing anymore.

Is it me or the lights don't work (can't turn on and off) on Standard cars? The dashlight shows it's turned on or off though but the car itself .. doesn't. :(.

Nope, I don't believe the standard cars can toggle the lights nor do the windshield wipers work.

It's a standard car (and only available as a standard) but some guys are reporting it does animate and in the pictures we have seen, you can clearly see it does. However, on the one I have it does not :/

Yep, that is correct.

On the GT5 list, the Veyron is listed under "S", not "P'. and bummer that the lights and wipers don't work >.<

Alright, I fired up GT5 just now and took my Veyron out for another spin on SSR7 (love that track). Surprise surprise the rear wing activated  it must of been just a weird glitch or something, it's all good now (Y)

The lights do work on the standard cars, you just have no control over them i.e. you can't flash them.

Does every game need to spoon feed?

Jesus, the game is far from perfect. Let people have their complaints. This is a forum after all.

it's just hilarious seeing reviewers caught with their pants down as they're the ones we idolise as decision makers on what games we purchase.

It is funny to see a couple of them messed up their reviews because of their lack of damage knowledge. The scores are still spot on though overall.

The lights "appear" in a graphical sense, but they don't illuminate objects like the premiums do.

I've managed all gold and silvers in the first licence, being honest I've not sat down with the sole intention of ace'ing them all yet. It will be something I try to do though at some point!

Now I know it can be done with a DUALSHOCK 3 I need to practive more :p mainly got Silver...

Ok boys, when are we gonna have a fun little lobby open with us to toy around the track?!? I see you guys in campaign on my friends list all the time (as I am as well), but we should get in and mess with the multiplayer options.

I feel sick, is there no way of turning off the screen judder while in cockpit its like someones shaking my head about trying to make my eyes come out.

Try quick settings during a race then change to view to narrow or narrower, that may help.

I've not even looked into the online aspect of the racing yet. I'm always pretty free of an evening especially this week, so will keep an eye out for people and we can try get something together.

Awesome! Well, I haven't raced yet online, but I did watch some online races. They sure are funny to watch. There are a crap load of cheaters out there though....my god. You should see them cut through the grass and sand online, it's funny as heck. I don't know if the actual gameplay online is like this, but watching them, the cars are glitching mad all over the place.

Hmmm that's not so good then maybe just go with a private lounge with a few NW's rather than risk idiots cheating?

I ought to go get a better car then soon! Have an old Ferrari and an Evo 10 :/ might need something a bit quicker!

I don't know why exactly but I find GT5 to be the most enjoyable driving experience I've ever had in a game. I often throw away victory by accident on the last lap because I keep pushing without even realising it. Cars feel really rewarding to drive or something. I've played GTR Evo extensively on the PC with my wheel but that feels very dull compared to GT5. Plus many of the mods for GTR seem to work on the basis of "if it can be driven in a straight line, it isn't realistic".

Anyone got any tips regards a good car for the "Classic US Muscle Car" race at Monza (amateur tier)? Tried my 69' Corvette Convertible but get blasted past down the straights. Stupidly bought a Dodge Challenger which has twice the BHP. It's useless as it runs out of gears at around 80mph (making it worse than the Corvette).

I accidentally bought a 100k Lotus for the British series, but I can't use it because it's over 1200kg. So now I have to earn some money to do a weight reduction to put it in that race. So I guess I have a decent car now for some online.

Do they allow voice chat online? I'd like to put the official headset to some use, as I've almost never used it, and I bought it nearly a year ago.

Yes, you can voice and text.

Great! :) We've all got to set up a get-together online sometime.

Indeed...that way you can KICK MY ASS! :)

BTW, I have noticed that the game doesn't seem very challenging. The only place I have found challenging would be the "Special" races. The license tests also have some challenge, but I am almost done with Professional A Spec, and that is a breeze. I am hoping that Expert or Endurance piles on the difficulty.

I used a stock Superbird 60 I think it was, that's okay, not the fastest but with good cornering you should be able to win with it :)

I used the 70 Camaro, and I just slapped on a couple upgrades to add about 30 more HP or so, and got gold right away.

    • NVIDIA officially supports Ubuntu, as linked above with the GeForce NOW Hands on I did in collaboration with Paul Hill.
    • TO be clear I am not running linux today, however I keep thinking about it. And I want to make sure there are minimal obstacles if I decide to make that switch in the coming months.
    • Yes, I actually glossed over the Linux part from the OP. You could always go for a 9070 XT and if you really want to play Ray Traced games in the future, GeForce Now is pretty damn good on Linux https://www.neowin.net/news/nvidias-native-geforce-now-app-for-linux-bridges-the-gaming-gap-hands-on/
