makes sense, everytime i turn on my ps3 you and razor are already playing

it's because I need more money. and most of the time I'm not actually playing.. it's my virtual driver that is stocking me up on the cash. I just go watch TV till the race is done.

that's genius...

and and brian is right, crash damage is definitely available for lower levels, just takes a lot to see it. I royally messed up my 599 just to test it out and it works, took a REALLY REALLY long time though.

UK charts: Gran Turismo 5 speeds past Black Ops

http://www.thatvideo...ps-brotherhood/

Last Wednesday’s long-awaited Gran Turismo 5 went for the gold in the UK’s weekly all-formats sales chart, latest GFK Chart-Track data shows. Benefiting from an extra two days worth of sales (UK games traditionally release on Fridays), the racer becomes the 6th most successful PS3 game launch and surpasses GT4β€˜s launch week sales by 6 percent. As a result, Call of Duty: Black Ops and Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood are each pushed down by a position, landing at #2 and #3 this week, respectively.

Last week’s number three, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, slips to #6 while Fallout: New Vegas re-enters the top 10 thanks to a 97% boost in week-over-week sales.

Red Dead Redemptionβ€˜s Undead Nightmare DLC disc debuts at #14. The Wii-exclusive Disney’s Epic Mickey failed to enter the top 40.

Top 10 follows.

1. Gran Turismo 5

2. Call of Duty: Black Ops

3. Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood

4. FIFA 11

5. Just Dance 2

6. Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit

7. Wii Party

8. Art Academy

9. Wii Sports Resort

10. Fallout: New Vegas

Very nice, though I expected it to be THE most successful PS3 launch, not the 6th.

Well if your 300hp vehicle is in the lead and can out run a whole line of cars in one gear.. I don't think I'll need to do that.

Yeah, but you mentioned 300hp vs. cars with one gear. Are you getting a way to pit a go-kart against some regular cars, or are you racing against some REALLY old cars that only had one gear?

I think it was a 74 Special... that thing did over 300km/h on a straight. I'll check after I do this race.

edit: it was a Buick Special '62. So yeah I think it blew by a couple of cars in one gear on that straight

The Buick 62 is 500+hp and it's a SEMA car. I used that for one series of races in A Spec. That thing ****ing rules!

I am going to bring a little Forza into this....but some things I like about GT5 more than Forza 3 (no order):

1. You can watch online races and not participate

2. When looking back in cockpit view, you see the back seat/window

3. The "original" tracks are better (or I should say, more fun IMO)

4. Saving replays is faster

5. Ability export and upload BIG ASS photo images right from your PS3 or via USB

6. Photo tour locations

7. The "community" tab and all the features in it

6. License tests

7. Special Events

8. Maintenance (washing car, oil change)

9. Data logging with ghosts in Arcade mode

10. I actually am liking the "unlocking" of the paint colors now...I am appreciating this. I am a huge fan of black, so in Forza, I seemed to always choose black for most of my cars. This is making me appreciate cars in other colors.

That said...does anyone know:

1. Why we still can't upload our replays to youtube?

2. Why I have seen damage disappear from the replays?

3. Why does the AI prevent you from passing them when your bumper is touching theirs? If you go left or right and NOT let off their bumper, they act like they are velcroed to your bumper. You have to let off the gas to pass.

4. If you buy a car for an event by accident that doesn't qualify for the event, because it weighs too much, if you do a weight reduction, will it then qualify?

5. Why am I awarded the actual car I needed for the series I was doing? Example, I bought an 07 Mini from the new car dealership, I finished the Mini series with it, and they gave me a ****ing Mini! This has happened 3 times

6. Why does it seem like my B-Spec driver doesn't really need me to tell him to "maintain" pace, "increase pace", "decrease pace"? I just let him drive, and he smoked everyone for the series races, never getting in an accident and leading by half a track. I just tested this.

7. Why can't I rewind/fast forward my replays?

Also, anyone here addicted to saving replays? I have saved every single one of my replays in the campaign (unless I didn't finish in first and replayed it, then I saved the 1st place one). I don't save them in license, and I have saved a couple in Special (not saving for B Spec). So yeah, A Spec I am saving them all, and the list is getting huge. Not sure why, but I love it. I want to have a crap load of ITEMS too.

i still saw damage on m ferrari replay :s

3. Why does the AI prevent you from passing them when your bumper is touching theirs? If you go left or right and NOT let off their bumper, they act like they are velcroed to your bumper. You have to let off the gas to pass.

I agree with this, it's annoying, can't imagine how it'll work when i'm at the later levels when damage really does matter

4. If you buy a car for an event by accident that doesn't qualify for the event, because it weighs too much, if you do a weight reduction, will it then qualify?

it does if it's like the past GT's, can't speak for this one, though i can't imaging it being any different

5. Why am I awarded the actual car I needed for the series I was doing? Example, I bought an 07 Mini from the new car dealership, I finished the Mini series with it, and they gave me a ****ing Mini! This has happened 3 times

cause they are a-holes... happened to me a couple of times to with some races

7. Why can't I rewind/fast forward my replays?

this irks me like you wouldn't beleive. I did four laps around the nurburgring and i wanted to check out my third lap (weather was changing throughout the race) and i had to sit there and watch 2 6:30ish laps before i can view it? retarded...

The B-Spec driver does drive a lot faster if you keep telling him to increase pace, you can see it if you switch to the full on timing mode, but makes him far more liable to make a mistake. However if his car is WAY more powerful than the competition then if you do nothing he will just trundle around quite slowly for what the car can do, but still blow away the competition

Video showing head tracking

Thanks for reminding me, I totally forgot to hook my camera up!! Now seeing it in action I am sold.

I actually have a real old Logitech wheel from the PC, and it works with GT5, thing is because it is so old it hardly has any buttons, so it is missing so many options, even when I remap it. So pretty sure I am getting the lower end GT wheel for X-mas or my Birthday (only 4 days apart).

Also, what is all of this talk about having a virtual driver race for you? Is that unlocked at a certain level? Hell, I will do that all of the time to earn some cash. (Y)

Click on the B Spec square instead of the A Spec square on your UI/Menu. You will have to create a driver first, so click on the helmet in your lower left corner (the little circles that have "items", "garage" etc. Once you create a driver, you can go into B Spec and the driver will do the races for you. You just need to monitor him to make sure he isn't making mistakes (though apparently if you give him extra performance in his car and have him "maintain", you don't need to monitor). So you can just let the driver do his thing and you can make money.

However, there is a trophy for getting your driver appreciated.

The Supercar Nostalgia Cup is ****ing me off... those Lambo Concepts can't be beaten at all. >.<

Which car are you using? I managed to beat them with the Ferrari 512 BB, after I lightened it it a bit, upped the power to 400BHP and put on racing tyres.

that one grand tour race were you have to be a murcielagois a pain. that car has WAYYYYYYY to much power. The back would kick out even if i thought about turning... Had to adjust the driving options just so i had a chance.

I've just spotted a huge error in the Supercar Festical event (Professional Series). Go to the typical opponents list, then it shows the Bugatti Veyron at the very top, but it's got 671 BHP. So they've taken off 330 BHP???

was using the Jensen Interceptor '74. It's at 359... guess it's not enough HP.

Thanks for the info. (Y) I think I might have already created a driver, but will double check, and then check it out. I have just been going back and forth between the A-Spec, Specials, and License Tests, I did not even think about clicking B-Spec yet. Currently just a Level 11 and have 212,640 credits. I am taking it nice and slow, partly because I am pretty sure I will have a wheel around Xmas time, so do not want to burn myself out on the game now and save it all up for the wheel. :punk:

    • Uh, after intense testing now, 'Samsung Browser' is not the best one outside of 'Microsoft Edge' after all. Opera Air is that. It has "some" bloat, but it's far less than what both Microsoft Edge and Brave browser have.
