Cant believe i got rid of my Jailbreak for this the loading times are really irritating me now getting fed up of seeing the flashing GT logo.

Also its pretty much unplayable for me in cockpit mode the view judders around and gets worse the faster you go gives me a headache.

Disappointing to say the least.

Strange, I actually didn't think the load times were too bad.

I noticed that in cockpit mode, obviously put in for realism but yeah would be nice to be able to turn off, you don't get it on the bumper cam though :)

I don't know why exactly but I find GT5 to be the most enjoyable driving experience I've ever had in a game. I often throw away victory by accident on the last lap because I keep pushing without even realising it. Cars feel really rewarding to drive or something. I've played GTR Evo extensively on the PC with my wheel but that feels very dull compared to GT5. Plus many of the mods for GTR seem to work on the basis of "if it can be driven in a straight line, it isn't realistic".

Anyone got any tips regards a good car for the "Classic US Muscle Car" race at Monza (amateur tier)? Tried my 69' Corvette Convertible but get blasted past down the straights. Stupidly bought a Dodge Challenger which has twice the BHP. It's useless as it runs out of gears at around 80mph (making it worse than the Corvette).

The Dodge Challenger has been my favourite car in the game, you'll need to spend 20,000 getting the fully customisable transmission and then you can quickly turn it into a monster by getting the gearing right. It's way easier to handle than cars like the Ferrari Enzo which I've now bought

I agree. The loading times are miserable.

I can't say that I have noticed this. I know what you are talking about though, as I have seen that in the NFS Shift demo that I tried.

Does anyone have a pick up truck they could lend me please? I promise to look after it and I'll send it straight back as soon as i'm finsihed with it :D

If you get bronze on the international A license you get given a pickup truck, otherwise it's a major pain trying to find one used

Indeed...that way you can KICK MY ASS! :)

BTW, I have noticed that the game doesn't seem very challenging. The only place I have found challenging would be the "Special" races. The license tests also have some challenge, but I am almost done with Professional A Spec, and that is a breeze. I am hoping that Expert or Endurance piles on the difficulty.

Wait till you get to expert and extreme then come talk to me about it lol

you or anyone who adds me first who needs it, i have the Larmie Hemi top speed is 180mph fully tuned, add me PSN: Killa_Aaron

So do we need a PS eye to look left/right? I haven't seen how to do it with the controller.

goto options and set your control options to the right stick for right left view or you can set it to the D-Pad.

Play it over the weekend - My biggest problem is theres nothing ground breaking about it. Kind of "more of the same" but with updated graphics (VERY good graphics mind you). My mate Jason wrote a pretty fair review, although some people REALLY didn't like it. It's a shame people cant write honest and fair reviews these days without people moaning and saying "why didnt it get 10/10 merrrrrr" - See

Thank you very much, most kind of you sir, I'll send you a friend request when I get home from work and with any luck I'll only need it for an hour or so and I'll send it straight back ;)

all right will be waiting.

Not actually tested the head tracking yet as I don't actually use the cockpit mode. Must just have been me that wasn't too fussed about it.

I haven't tried the head tracking either, but that's mostly because my camera is set up for when I want to play PlayStation Move games, and it's annoying getting it in the right position if I move it out of place. Luckily, the d-pad of my steering wheel is set to the view. :p And for some reason, the L3 button is also set to rear view, then R3 is set for the headlights.

i think its safe to say some little oik has got your console and game, your intitled to a refund if you payed with

a credit card.

Actually that was the 2nd PS3 Amazon sent out that was lost. So was my Toshiba TV. This cant be happening.

Amazon is sending me a 3rd one today by different carrier.

Is the PSP 3000 supported as a rear view mirror?

that's called realism.

i doubt it but that would awesome

Stores don't give GT5 Collectors + PS3 320 GB bundle for 269 GBP.

I will give Amazon 3rd and last chance then ask for full refund on PS3 and the TV. lol :x

oh yeah, true ...

Well it's probably not an issue with amazon but somebody managing to steal the package from the shipping company or they just lost it, which i doubt.

    • NVIDIA officially supports Ubuntu, as linked above with the GeForce NOW Hands on I did in collaboration with Paul Hill.
    • TO be clear I am not running linux today, however I keep thinking about it. And I want to make sure there are minimal obstacles if I decide to make that switch in the coming months.
    • Yes, I actually glossed over the Linux part from the OP. You could always go for a 9070 XT and if you really want to play Ray Traced games in the future, GeForce Now is pretty damn good on Linux https://www.neowin.net/news/nvidias-native-geforce-now-app-for-linux-bridges-the-gaming-gap-hands-on/
