Hell, any of you guys with cars feel free to send them to DLDirtyLarry, I am starting to hit a major block in the game, this is about the time I start hating these racing sim games and I am really trying my best not to have this happen with GT. Currently @ Level 11, I really only get to play an hour a night if I am lucky.

Have patience young Padawan. If I have a car you need, I can borrow you one tonight when I get home. Just let me know what you need.

I certainly don't mind lending some cars out either, certain ones I would want back though.

Have the Chromeline and Stealth DLC cars as well as the one's that I have got along the way, think I have about 54 cars now.

do you know if you were to give them away could you just re download them or not?

Does anyone else think the "Racing Modifications" are a ripoff? I did it to my Civic for S&G and I lost almost 100hp... For 110,000 I was expecting a lot more...

Also the rain in the cockpit looks like ass...

It does warn you that if you go for the racing modification it removes all your existing tuning, hence you losing 100HP. It is rubbish that racing modification gives you less HP than getting all the upgrades but think car is better than the raw stats might suggest

Yeah I knew it removed everything but I was expecting for 110k I would get a little more for my money. Oh well live and learn :p

Doesn't seem a very fair comparison to me. There was another video on the previous page where they went past just fine. I'm sure if you placed the car in certain places in Forza it would do just the same. Not to mention that it is hardly a test of the AI at all. Just whether they can avoid some twit who parks in the middle of the road...

This game is kind of ****ing me off with the way the cars work to buy them. I want to do some of the track races in the Amateur series but guess what no trucks to be found. How in the world are you supposed to do some of these races?

I can't say anything about GT5 yet, as I haven't tried. But Forza does indeed have the AI avoid you if possible.

^ You do know your tag says otherwise.

I mean, I haven't tried to turn my car around and wait for AI to hit me in GT5. I did that in Forza though because I was checking out the damage when I first got the game. The dang AI kept avoiding me, so I decided to drive backwards around the track and go after them head on laugh.gif

The used car dealership is a pain. I remember GT2's used car dealers which worked well. Why they did it like this I don't know.

There are always going to be spots where AI can be tricked or confused. See this one from Forza for an example:

I don't for a second believe this is indicative of the AI in Forza at all (which is the one and only game on the Xbox I'd ever want to buy), the same way that one GT5 video shows them avoiding and another doesn't.

But the racecraft is where an AI should be judged for me. That is poor in most games now, including GT5. :( There are moments where the AI seem to race well and others where I might as well be racing in another dimension.

After all these years Grand Prix 4 still holds the title for best racing AI IMO. The AI in that had racecraft and speed. In newer games they can go quick, but they couldn't race to save their lives.

it's totally relative to the level you are currently at. the higher i am getting the smarter/more aggresive they are getting.

1 week in. and yeah I am selling this on glyde.com or eBay. it just isnt worth a $60 game for me right now. I didnt buy Forza 3 for the same reason. My reasons:

1. Menu system is screwed up. yes this is a racing game (but a GAME). it should be accessible

2. Standard vs Premium Cars really turns me off

3. Damage needs to be unlocked? What world is PD living in

4. Sound! it sounds all soft and downtrodden, Forza 3 sounded much better

5. Online! anyone can start a race WTF!

6. Online! customization and implementation is worse but forgiveable as its PD's first proper online implementation.

7. Some cars and tracks don't give the speed that I should feel driving that fast.

8. Tracks are worse than PGR4 or Forza 3

9. This is 2010. when it snows or rains, your whole standard OR premium car turns pixelated in it, what the hell?!

What will make me buy it when its cheaper

1. Handling is amazing

2. They will patch it up good

3. DLC will come and will the make more playable

Oh, ok. Think I'm currently at level 13 or 14. When should I begin to notice it more?

you should start to, i'm having a HARD TIME trying to get first in the ferrari race on the professions series... they won't let you pass, they are slip streaming like a mother. it all depends on the series/levels and cars you are against.

    • Microsoft released new Defender update for Windows 11, 10, Server ISO installations by Sayan Sen Microsoft releases new Windows Defender update packages very frequently to protect against various newly discovered malware. Once a while every three months or so, the company also pushes out these updates to Windows images (WIM and VHD) and ISOs, that are used to install Windows. Hence with the newest Windows 11 update available via the official MCT tool, you should get these definitions. This update package is necessary as a Windows installation image may contain old, outdated anti-malware definitions and software binaries. Aside from better security, these updates can also provide improved performance benefits in some cases. When a new Windows installation is set up, there may be a temporary security risk due to outdated Microsoft Defender protection in the OS installation images. This happens because the antimalware software included in these images might not be up to date. Thus Microsoft says that these updated definitions essentially help close this protection gap. Microsoft delivered the latest security definitions for Windows images via security intelligence update version 1.445.323.0. The Defender package version is also the same. It applies to Windows 11, Windows 10 ESU, Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2021, Win 10 Ent LTSC 2019, Win 10 Ent LTSB 2016, Windows Server 2022, Windows Server 2019, and Windows Server 2016. Microsoft writes: "This package updates the anti-malware client, anti-malware engine, and signature versions in the OS installation images to following versions: Platform version: 4.18.26040.7 Engine version: 1.1.26040.8 Security intelligence version: 1.447.236.0" From Microsoft's security bulletin, we learn that the security intelligence update version 1.447.236.0 was released early last month and adds threat detections for various malware like trojan, backdoor exploits, ransomware, stealers, AutoKMS, and more. For those wondering, the latest intelligence update is version 1.451.297.0 at the time of writing.
