Is it possible to have the autohide bookmarks style without enabling the bookmarks toolbar? I want to make the bookmarks button always visible.

you could try this: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon//

Also, how do I use DOM Inspector to view the class/id of the context menu or menu entries?

Also, for things like the window that comes up with Alt, Tools, Options.

Check in chrome://browser/content/browser.xul. Search by tag for for menu, meunupopup, or menuitem or by attribute if one is known (the label would be the most obvious one.). Most context menus are descendants of #mainPopupSet, toolbar menus are usually a descendant of the toolbar.

Here's an example where I searched for the "Undo" menuitem in the main context menu:

You may also want to take a look at this Domi helper add-on which would make it considerably easier:

How would I change these toolbar icons? I tried some scripts from userstyles but none worked?

They are GreaseMonkey & Master Password.

I don't use Master Password, so I don't know its ID, but here's GM(v.2011.04.13.nightly). You would probably be able to do MP the same way once you have its ID. :

#greasemonkey-tbb {
    list-style-image: url("PATH TO IMAGE or DATA/URI") !important;
    -moz-image-region: auto !important;
}

This is with reference to Fx4 and the Aurora build on WinXP SP3 and the latest (1.1.2b1) and previous version of Stylish.

The default (starting size) of stylish.sqlite is 160 KB even though it is empty. We go about adding, editing and deleting styles. At some point, it then jumps to 224 KB. To bring it back down, I copy the styles, just a few in my case, to text files and uninstall them from Stylish (but the size of stylish.sqlite still remains at 224 KB). I go into my profile and delete the 224 KB, but now empty, stylish.sqlite, restart Fx, and see a new 160 KB stylish.sqlite. I then bring back my styles from the text files and the size is still 160 KB but I guess that the "entropy", for want of a better word, has been reduced a bit. While regularly backing up the profile folder is a must in any case, I feel (without any scientific proof) that this exercise improves the "quality" of the stylish.sqlite file.

as a side note, windows users can actually use this method to vacuum all the sqlite DBs in your Fx profile folder(or any folder):

Then there's also CCleaner, a separate freeware program, that can vacuum both Firefox and Chrome databases and do a lot of other stuff.

I need help, please!

I want to have a slightly darker color instead of the light grey that is visible in the three panels in this image.

Specs: WinXP SP3, Aurora build, no theme, no personas, but a Stylish code is in use that gives part of the image the non-standard look.post-369494-0-76928400-1302852702.png

Thanks, I found the ID in the inspector but have a slight problem.

There is only one toolbar icon ID and there are 2 toolbar icons, one is red for disabled and the other is green for enabled.

The ID changes both the enabled and disabled icons to the same icon when I applied in stylish which makes it hard to see first glance if it's enabled or disabled.

Is there a way I can move the text in the url bar to the right by 2 or 3 pixels? It seems like the first letter of the url text is being partially cut off in my firefox and I have no idea what's causing it. It's not a huge problem but it's bugging the hell out of me. :wacko:

Edit: Actually, it seems that stratiform is causing it.

I think I got it kinda, sorta, the way I want with this:

dialog,
page,
pane,
panel,
prefs,
prefwindow *,
settings,
update,
window,
wizard
{
  -moz-appearance: none;
  background-color: #333 !important;
  color: #777 !important;
}

except for the fat borders that appear on the tabs in the last (Advanced) pane.

try these selectors:

red-

#mapa_toolbar_button[status="2"]

green-

#mapa_toolbar_button[status="1"]

This is what I'm seeing:

It looks like each tab and the panel itself has a fat grey border. There are also little vertical bars on either side of "Accessibility", "Browsing", etc that needn't be there.

Hey foxxyn8,

how exactly did you make those tabs have no border-radius and be so close to eachother like in this image:

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/12843960/firefox_bookmarks.png

Also im trying to find a way to make this work but w/o success (though i've managed to do it properly for facebook since it doesnt have subdomains):

#main-window[stylish-url^="deviantart.com"] #urlbar{
  style;
}

if its:

#main-window[stylish-url^="http://www.deviantart.com"] #urlbar{

it works but only for that page, i need something that works on all deviantart.com domains/subdomains (cause we know how many subdomains that site has).

Sample of what it will look like once im done:

post-267886-0-34842400-1302923668.png

You can change "^=" to "*=" and that'll select any URL with "deviantart.com" in it.

lol i cant believe i didnt think about it, i should just quit webdesigning /facepalm (i will add the excuse of current time which is almost 7am :#).

Anyway, if anyone is interested to use the userstyle for that deviantArt url, feel free to ask

I didn't do that. I like my tabs with rounded corners, but whoever did it either created a new border image or completely remade the tabs with css

why not use [stylish-domain] instead of [stylish-url]

Ok, thanks for the quick replies, guyz.

I didnt use it cause i didnt know it existed xD, i started working on stylish yesterday so im pretty new to this (mostly in finding stuff through DOM inspector and some stylish related options).

I've managed to remove the border-radius from the tabs but im having trouble shrinking the distance between tabs (i think its about 2pixels long for me, while in that screenshot its 1px).

Hey can someone help me to put a white line at the top of the navigation bar just under the black border just under the tabs.

I've got this so far, but I'm not expert in CSS lol.

#navigator-toolbox > toolbar:not(#toolbar-menubar):not(#TabsToolbar):not(:-moz-lwtheme):not(#PersonalToolbar) {
border: 2px solid transparent !important;
-moz-border-top-colors: rgb(40%,40%,40%) #F7FAFD !important;
-moz-border-left-colors:  rgb(40%,40%,40%) rgb(228,235,244) !important;
-moz-border-right-colors: rgb(40%,40%,40%) rgb(228,235,244) !important;
}

The problem with this is that I don't want the borders on the left and right of the nav bar. The nav bar slightly enlarges because of the extra borders which I don't want and the selected tab has the white line on it which I don't want.

Thanks.

#navigator-toolbox > toolbar:not(#toolbar-menubar):not(#TabsToolbar):not(:-moz-lwtheme):not(#PersonalToolbar) {
	border-top: 1px solid #fff !important;
}

Not sure if this is what you are looking for
