How long is the final mission in Mass Effect 2

Recommended Posts

I'm saving the final mission in Mass Effect 2 for my day off, planning a night for it. Have some beers, turn the phone off, etc.

I'm have been googling, and from what I think I have been reading, the final mission is really short.

Is that true? How long does the final mission last?

like an hour and some change if i remember. going through my 2nd playthrough now. It probably would be best to do it on a day off or with a few hours to spare though. You'll probably end up having to play through it more than once.

It's short if you plan for it properly. Even the final boss fight is on the short and easy side - I was a little disappointed. I was hoping for something a bit more epic. But it was more like a House of The Dead boss fight than a cinematic one. :shiftyninja:

Me too but the thing is ME2 is stuck in the middle, ME1 set the scene and ME3 will [hopefully] give us an epic final chapter but ME2 is stuck in no-mans land in the middle so to speak. Back to topic, the final mission is really short, quite fun and the final battle will disappoint and leave you drooling for more at the same time :p :)

let's just say you're not going to get drunk playing the last mission unless you're a really fast drinker who can't hold his liquor. it's also not nearly as hard as the setup makes it seem. but it's still awesome. and yes, be prepared for some eventualities with your crew...

BTW like your approach to gaming - especially the beer!

took me about an hour. i thought the last boss fight was difficult, but managed to beat it on 1st try.

it's also highly recommended that you have all the characters, leveled yourself up properly and have all the ship upgrades.

Sorry to hijack this thread, but can anybody upload a save file that's right before or close to the final mission?

I was playing ME2 and my hard drive died on me a month ago  I searched for it but all I found was broken links.

Thanks!

Have you tried http://www.masseffectsaves.com/? If not, just PM me, I'll figure out a way to send you my save.

Back to my OP, Grunt died. I don't feel sad though, I think that he would want to go out that way. And since I am one of those cats who finds it boring as hell to play the same game twice, I guess I'll have to live with Grunt's death until Mass Effect 3. :(

Now play as different gender/class on insanity difficulty. :p

I remember when I failed to upgrade the ship. Most characters died and I was with speechless shock and awe. It will definitely take you a few tries (each taking more than 30 minutes) to master for the best ending but it will be worth it. ;)

I felt the game didn't necessarily need a "final boss". The story really didn't call for it, and it just seemed he was tacked on there for the sake of being a video game.

yeah i was a bit upset that i got all the way to what i thought was the end and suddenly you have to take down this massive robot. not really necessary.

    • Yup, broke my comp… again. its times like this when I regret AMD. This just never happens on NV.
    • Huh? You're delusional calling the Steam Deck dead. It is so successful that it has sold out multiple times. Even after the price hike this year it sold out again with 24 hours of being back in stock. The demand is real and has not died down even after four years.
