However it keeps giving me a "Server Error" after i try to finish the order (Using VISA), this never happened before. Anyone has an idea why? Maybe they are out of keys? I don't feel like creating a ticket since it's weekend and will probably take some time, which means i might not get the answer before the deal runs out. :(

Anyone gonna be on playing some MP in about 30 minutes to an hour give or take? Just gonna grab some food then hop online. Will be by whopping 3rd match total, so I suck and do not know the maps yet, but am down to play if anyone is around. Will also have Jerzdawg with me, who is my friend IRL. 360 version BTW.

Really starting to get bored with all the problems. I can't play with my mates, can't enjoy kill-cams because it's the most sporadic kill-cam I've ever seen, the host selection is completely off, more than ever and I'm starting to believe that 4 green bars as ping doesn't really mean you have a decent ping like in MW2 because some of the kills I've seen and even got myself are completely unrealistic without massive lag compensation and ghost rubber-banding. Even though I'm closing in on the 3.0 K/D ratio I'm just not enjoying it, despite all the kills. I really hope a fix is out soon ... :(

Oh and what the hell is up with 90% of the silencers sounding completely the same? A 7.62 rifle's suppressor is as effective as a 9mm pistol, the pistols are even louder. Where's the nice thuds and thumps? HC S&D is basically silencer city and all you get is those puny, tinny shooting sounds - Such a shame.

at least that is your only problem. Try playing an MP on PC and watch your FPS drop to below 10 for absolutely no reason. The best is when the game is over and it just shows one scene for about 15 seconds and you just look at your FPS meter just DROP HARD for no reason whatsoever. Even pings, around 50 then out of no where 300+ for everyone on the server. sooooo annoying.

but when it works it's brilliant though :)

Reason #318 of why I moved away from PC gaming, optimization and QA on PC games are hitting rock bottom.

Game's only just over a week old - they can fix these issues with a couple of patches, hopefully.

But it's such a weak excuse considering it uses the EXACT same engine and netcode as MW1, WaW and MW2 - Exact same game, how can you completely muck up basic stuff that has been working for years now? I'd be a lot more lenient if that was a new IP but it just isn't. Of course it'll all be fixed server-side or by patches but some of these problems are just inexcusable considering they've had plenty of preparation time through past experiences.

Maybe the theatre mode, credit system and reintroduction of dedicated servers has clouded that somewhat.

It's not great and not helped by Treyarch being quiet but then again I kinda play alone so I haven't faced many of the same frustrations as others.

Totally agree, it's not rocket science Treyarch. We've had to resort to sticking to parties of 3 (we have about 9-10 that regularly play togethter) and when one party gets in the others have to try and join game in progress. Usually we find ourselves on opposing teams this way, which can lead to some interesting banter in party chat. :p

God you are dumb as a barn door, definitely my fault the matchmaking servers aren't working - Are you even talking about the 360 version  ?

Anyone here can confirm they don't work very well with parties at the moment, it's neigh on impossible to play with friends especially when you are more than 3 in the party, it goes all to hell.

All this because you get offended over ruining other people's playing experience.

I can confirm that myself and several friends are in the same boat! Any party of 3 friends or more and we can spend 30 minutes trying to get us all in the same game! It's completely and utterly messed up at the moment, this is on 360 btw.

Credit system, no way in hell and the dedicated servers shouldn't cause problems and the very least on the console versions. Only thing that could cause problems with kill-cam desync etc. would be theater mode but that still doesn't account for the completely broken matchmaking system as there's no recording going on there. Just seems like Treyarch lost focus when it comes to QA.

Yeah, we had to keep the parties small and then invite people to the active lobby as other players were leaving ... which mean we'd end up on opposite teams. Most of the times we just had to disband and play alone - Had such high hopes for the launch week but it has been a disaster :(

Because the Black Ops has very tight NAT restrictions. If you're getting disconnected from the party or separated, it's because at least one person without all the ports open in their router for xbox live is causing it. I've had to walk 2 friends through the process of opening the ports. No problems since.

Not really, happens quite rarely for me.

When it does I usually cheer because the host usually sucks or picks me because my connection is better than what most players have.

Probably just my luck then. I'm only level 13, not too many hours put in.

If you know what you're doing, S&D is the ultimate points mode - I'm thrashing most of my friends in Points-per-minute in S&D, Almost 600ppm in Softcore and over 400 in Hardcore. It's easier in Softcore as the gameplay is much faster, so if you're looking to rank up quickly, that'd be my suggestion.

That's because you are using the D2D.com, it only works in UK site. As i think i know why i doesn't work for me, must be because it's for UK residents only.

Anyway i've managed to get a nice deal: http://game.gamesplanet.com/buy-download-pc-games/COD:-Black-Ops-1994-38.html

Since i'm in a € country this deal is great for me, i bought it for 42€~

For US it will be $56, so i think it's not worth it for US residents...

Probably 3~4 hours here. I'm not that great at COD, much better at BF2 and more team based games.

i'm better at those too, haven't been playing very well yet, slowly but surely getting the groove of things. i;m definitely better at BC2 then this though.

I hate UK now, first D2D UK, now GAME. I can't buy the game from any of the sites because it seems they're for UK only, i hope they both go bankrupt for such idiotic restrictions.

    • Calling GTA 6 overhyped crap doesn’t make you edgy, it just makes you sound like someone who hasn’t enjoyed anything since the PS2 era.
    • I’m not arguing whether Rockstar likes money. Obviously, they do, they’re a business. I’m saying this isn’t new. They’ve always launched console first. This is just how Rockstar operates.
    • I'm not sure how old the school is, but they've been doing this since GTA 3. Back in those days we'd be lucky for game companies to release on the PC at all. And with the current state of Sony (or Microsoft) their gaming wing won't be getting a penny from me.
    • We now know when and how the Universe may truly end by Sayan Sen Image by Marek Pavlík via Pexels| Not representative A study by physicist Henry Tye of Cornell University suggests that the universe may not expand forever. Instead, it could eventually stop expanding, begin contracting and end in a "Big Crunch" roughly 20 billion years from now. The research, published in the Journal of Cosmology and Astroparticle Physics, was conducted by Tye, Horace White Professor of Physics Emeritus at Cornell University. Using recent observations from major dark-energy surveys, Tye and his collaborators developed a cosmological model that predicts the universe could have a total lifespan of about 33 billion years. Since the universe is currently estimated to be 13.8 billion years old, the model places it near the midpoint of its existence. According to Cornell University's summary of the research, the study centers on the cosmological constant, a term introduced by Albert Einstein in his theory of general relativity. In modern cosmology, the cosmological constant is commonly used to describe the simplest form of dark energy, the unknown phenomenon believed to be driving the accelerating expansion of the universe. "For the last 20 years, people believed that the cosmological constant is positive, and the universe will expand forever," Tye said in a Cornell University news release. "The new data seem to indicate that the cosmological constant is negative, and that the universe will end in a big crunch." The study draws on data from the Dark Energy Survey (DES) and the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI), two major projects designed to investigate the nature of dark energy. According to Tye, recent observations suggest that dark energy may not behave exactly like a simple cosmological constant. To account for those observations, Tye and his collaborators proposed a model involving an extremely light hypothetical particle that evolves over time. In their calculations, this produces a negative cosmological constant and leads to a future collapse of the universe. The model predicts that cosmic expansion would continue for approximately another 11 billion years before reaching a maximum size, after which the universe would begin contracting and eventually collapse. Scientists have long debated how the universe might end. As explained in an article published in The Conversation by Stephen DiKerby of Michigan State University, several possibilities have been proposed. If dark energy remains constant and positive, the universe could continue expanding indefinitely, gradually becoming colder, darker and more diffuse in a scenario often called the "heat death" of the universe. Other theoretical possibilities include a Big Rip, in which cosmic expansion accelerates so dramatically that galaxies, stars and even atoms are torn apart, or a Big Crunch, in which expansion reverses and the universe collapses back into an extremely dense state. DiKerby notes that the Big Crunch idea itself is not new. What distinguishes Tye's work is that it attempts to use current observational data to estimate when such a collapse might occur and how it could unfold. Much of the universe's long-term evolution remains uncertain. According to current astrophysical understanding, stars will continue to form and die for billions of years. The Sun, for example, is about halfway through its expected lifespan. Galaxies are also expected to continue merging; the Milky Way and Andromeda galaxies are projected to collide several billion years from now. At the same time, the nature of dark energy remains one of the biggest unanswered questions in cosmology. While observations indicate that the universe's expansion is accelerating, scientists still do not know what is causing that acceleration. Future observations may therefore alter current predictions about the cosmos's ultimate fate. Tye emphasized that additional evidence will be needed before firm conclusions can be drawn. DESI continues to collect data, while upcoming observations from missions and observatories including Euclid, SPHEREx and the Vera C. Rubin Observatory are expected to provide more precise measurements of dark energy. "People have said before that if the cosmological constant is negative, then the universe will collapse eventually. That's not new," Tye said. "However, here the model tells you when the universe collapses and how it collapses." For now, the study presents one possible future for the cosmos rather than a settled prediction. Whether the universe ultimately ends in a Big Crunch, expands forever, or follows another path entirely remains an open question that future observations will help answer.
