The most serious problem with this game at the moment is the dodgy spawn system imo. On Nuke town there's me and 3 friends running around in one of the gardens behind the houses, but the enemy still spawns in the same garden, or in the little fenced in patch behind the garden.

Yep, that's why it's best to try to not go in the gardens unless you're camping there or you've just spawned. Otherwise, get to the house/garage or the other side of the map in the houses front garden.

honestly call me a camper all you want but in that map that spawn system is so messed that i juts sit in a corner and crouch and pick people off.

That's the only way to not get killed on that map...or just sit on the top floor of the house, either at the entrance or window, and just pick people off that way.

I've been beasting on nuke town lately and that's pretty much what I do. I put a claymore in the middle of the two entrances to the top floor so if anyone just follishly runs in they get blown up, then I just stay in the room picking people off out the window, occasionally running to the balcony in the back garden to kill people spawning there.

Managed to go 25-6 earlier so it's not a bad tactic :D

Finished COD veteran last night.

Difficulty - Same as MW2 for the most part. Had a few more parts that made me think, but it was no biggie and nothing huge. If you completed MW2 then this should be about the same

Story - Was stupid and saw it from a mile away. So much for a twist. Meh, could be better, but haven't seen a decent COD story since MW.

Game seems to be doing the same thing for that MW2 did for me. Was fun for the first 20-30 hours then it was just blah. Been having fun in MP, which is great so I'll see how long that lasts.

Still, though same old **** from the past 3 games with some new additions. Nothing ground breaking, nor nothing warranting a $60 buy.

I want to ask a question which is totally ****ing me off regarding the game.

I have Ghost as one of the perks. This allegedly stops you from getting attacked by air support, HOWEVER, heli's and what not mince me in every game. Does anyone else have this problem?

This is a glitch that they will fix, right?

Has anyone ever had people talking crap online? As in, "I'm better than you. You're bad!" It almost always ends in the same way. They talk smack for doing well in one TDM game and leave once you start owning them. Funny thing is, all the crap talkers have poor ratios (e.g. less than 1.2).

Yeah if it's the Pro version you got, standard it's just invisibility to the Spy Plane.

Oh, what?

Damn, and here was me thinking that standard hid you from everything. I have to go do those challenges now. ;)

I keep my mic off unless I'm playing with friends or family. Even then, I mute everyone that I don't know.

This was the case when I used to play MW1 and MW2 on the 360. Still reigns true now that I play Black Ops on the PS3.

definitely an improvement in terms of single player campaign, the MP is OK, a little too short range for my liking. i'd like the maps to be more open, like they had for COD3. overall Black Ops is one of the more memorable CODs, though, mostly because of the 1960's setting, the fantastic presentation, the characters, the music etc. Heck i think i'm in love with Frank Woods, he's one of the better characters we've had in a game recently!

So the usual then, game comes out, everyone jizzes their pants and a week later everyone is complaining about how broke the new COD is? rofl.gif

Basically. I am glad I held off on purchasing it, as I knew this was going to happen. Horrible spawn positions for enemies in some maps and some maps just suck (Jungle). No CoD will ever beat MW1.

And the game is still getting a lot of praise for its core balance and gameplay, at least people complain about actual broken stuff unlike two previous games where people complained about gameplay and game features.

And the game is still getting a lot of praise for its core balance and gameplay, why shouldn't people be allowed to voice their concerns regarding actual broken stuff unlike two previous games where people complained about the games themselves.

Where did I say any different? :p

    • What? They aren't removing the disc drive and charging $800 for questionable performance upgrades? How outrageous!
    • Bummer it's only 1TB instead of 2. I had one of those - the "Halo Special Edition" OG Xbox. This looks like a cool update.

    • Google's NotebookLM gets some useful features you may have been waiting for by Aditya Tiwari It's been three years since Google introduced its AI-powered note-taking and research app, NotebookLM. Just when Apple is about to kick off WWDC 2026, the search giant has announced a platter of new NotebookLM features that add agentic capabilities in chat and more advanced reasoning. For starters, NotebookLM now draws its fuel from Gemini 3.5 and Antigravity to improve accuracy and reliability. One of the things people have been asking for a long time is more transparency into the thinking steps. NotebookLM now shows expanded thinking steps in chat, providing better visibility into the thinking process. Google compared the upgraded NotebookLM with prior versions and found that it "achieved an average win rate of over 65% — a 15% point margin above parity — across our top five core evaluation dimensions," including accuracy & quality, multilingual support, large document analysis, document creation, and advanced research. It showed substantial improvements in analyzing large documents, achieving a 69.9% win rate. The system also delivered "exceptional performance" in advanced web research and source discovery with a 78.2% win rate. The AI research tool now generates outputs in more formats. You can give instructions to guide the outputs and download the generated files from the studio panel. Here are the newly supported formats: PNG and SVG for data visualizations and charts PDFs, docx, markdown, and text files for documents PNG, JPG, and GIF for images JSON and CSV for structured data XLSX for Microsoft Excel PPTX for Microsoft PowerPoint You can make edits after the outputs are generated. The feature is available globally; therefore, you can provide directions in one language and create outputs in another. Google said that it's also making it easier to get started with a project in NotebookLM. Instead of having a list of sources beforehand, you can even start with loose ideas, and NotebookLM can help build the repository of sources through the chat. For instance, you can find primary sources in other languages to get new perspectives or explore related works of an author. All of these new features are rolling out globally for those who can loosen up their pockets. They are available to users with Google AI Ultra and all Workspace business customers with AI Ultra access. Google has plans to expand them to more users in the future.
