The client doesn't report the proper download speeds. I was pretty much maxing out my mere 10mbit/sec(1.25mbyte/sec) connection the whole time and it never said more than 400KB/sec. So yea, use some kinda app to see what speed you're really getting.

I saw the same, 90KB yet my Resource Monitor was showing the gw2 process to be using 300KB.

So for those of us that are in.. What server do we want to play on? (US Worlds)

Anvil Rock? First on the list and most likely to be fully populated at all times. Though I don't think that will be a problem with any of the servers.

Although I'm not sure how much I will personally play, I think I'll just test out the different classes and confirm which class I'll be picking as my main once the game goes live. And trying out pvp.

I haven't seen any info on it yet but are they letting us make Sylvari and Asura? I know those two races were not available in previous betas.

Sounds good, my worry is queues. Is there going to be districts like GW1?

Queuing in GW2 is different. If your server is full you get directed to an overflow server. When a slot becomes available your given the choice to go to your home server.

That's not bad, but still I wouldn't want to have to be in some random server waiting to get into mine, although it is better than a:

"You are current 18th in line... 17th... 12th... 5... 1.. 1... 1... 1... "

I was thinking henge of denravi myself. Just cause i liked that quiet little town in gw1.

Nope, not yet. And there's a good chance they might not appear in any BWE. Cause they don't want to spoil everything before release.

You also keep any progress you made at the overflow server upon returning to your home server.

Why did they put both of those names in the EU?

Because we're awesome! Think we got the better Server names than you guys in NA did, they should have given you Fissure of Woe or something to split them up.

They're going to be full population at all times for sure.

You guys also get Ring of Fire, Desolation, and Abbadons Mouth.

I demand a recount.

Denied! You get... Yak's Bend and... Ferguson's Crossing and... Blazeridge Mountains, actually that last one is pretty good :) not to mention Sorrow's Furnace! :woot:

i doubt that i will be in the beta however, i can hope.

I will not be buying the game when it is released however, a bit later this year i might be able to pick it up. the game looks simply amazing.

With D3 and GW2 I am going to be swamped. Why you planning on waiting?

So it seems they've stopped taking digital prepurchases at the moment. I guess that means they've gotten enough prepurchases already to fill up, or mostly fill up, all of the 48 servers available for this weekend. Otherwise this wouldn't have happened. Impressive to have gotten so much so quickly.

They do say sold out, that's funny.

    • Get used to this, with AI tooling now uncovering new vulns and getting them exploitable far faster than has ever been possible before software is going to need to be updated far more frequently. Back in the day it may take reseachers weeks or months to do what AI can now do in hours. Once its a threat is discovered it's weaponsized far more quickly, meaning you simply can't be waiting 2, 3, 4 weeks to deploy a patch, it needs to be patched immediately. Going to be interesting handling this in the enterprise space where traditionally patching has been steady, but very staged (and rightly so up until now), that is going to have to change.
    • You don't need to "close all browser sessions constantly" or wait for updates to install. The updates download in the background while you use the browser, without interrupting you, they install automatically the next time you launch the app. And they install very fast (depending on your storage speeds, of course), you have to wait at most 2-3 extra seconds, if any. Seems like you haven't used Edge in a loooooooong time...
