Servers.

The influence I used on Crystal Desert can't be used on Darkhaven. I'm calling it a waste seeing as I was the only one on Crystal Desert, when the rest of the guild is on Darkhaven (as am I after transferring),

ahh, i get it, i didnt know they were servers

I am sure a lot of people's characters are in it since the character creator is so basic there are thousands of clones in this game.

That's not what I meant. Those characters in the trailer were on a special server and used specifically for making that trailer (and all the others). Let's just say, I was involved.

lets just say, tell us how you were "involved" please so that people will stop saying you weren't.

I can't really say much, other than I am part of a program that helps most of the big gaming companies beta (or alpha) test and do filming segments for their upcoming games (or games that are getting major updates).

Hey don't sweat it man. If I could, I would link the site and what not, but we are told not to do that (and they do legally go after people for breaking the NDA's and stuff like that) kind of thing. All I know is, it's "real" testing, not the pay to get in crap you get most of the time these days. This is taken very seriously, and you get rewarded for it :)

Also, that was me in game you asked about guesting and invited me to the party you know!? :D Sorry I couldn't respond fast, I was in a hectic PvP match at the time.

Anybody can verify this? Reading map chat, a guy claimed different characters could represent different guilds. Meaning your Ranger could be in Neowin guild while your Thief was in Guild X, whilst your Mesmer was in Guild Y. Any truth to that or just map trolling?

Loc was the water boy for the characters in the trailer, when they needed a vendor, that was him being " Involved"

Yes, a character can be in multiple guilds at the same time, representing 1 at a time per character. So yes that is true! Just have each character represent a diffrent guild.

That is correct. Representation is a per character feature.

I suppose it depends on what you mean by better and what features you like/dislike from each game.

I personally find playing through this game to be very fun and I do not feel as though I am "working" to get through it. Where as with Wow I would find myself pushing through content and quests and trying to make sure i didnt miss anything. Whereas with Guild Wars 2 the story is presented to you and just happens around you.

However, on the other side of the coin. Crafting in Guild Wars 2 while it has some amazing concepts i have not seen before (discovery and whatnot) I find it difficult to gather enough materials to keep my crafting level close enough to my character level so that the items i craft can be used.

As far as features and playing the game goes. The combat is unique in Guild wars and I enjoy it a lot.

TL;DR I would not say one is better than the other. Each are better than the other in many aspects on both sides. For however, Guild Wars 2 is free to play so i will continue to play it rather than WoW

That's just stupid, they need to lower the price of bag runes.

Lets assume you have 4 12 slot bags and want more space.

A single 20 slot bag rune costs 10g and gives you 8 slots more than a single 12 slot bag (which the rune costs 15s, about 20s to buy a 12 slot bag in the AH). So you pay 9.8 gold for 8 extra bag slots if you buy 20 slot bags.

Now, bag space expansion (an extra bag slot) costs 400 gems which currently you can get for like 1.06g (1 gold 6 silver), add the price of another 12 slot bag at 20s and you get 1.26g for 12 slots.

You can only get 3 bag space expansions, but you can get a total of 36 extra bag slots (over the default 4 bag spaces with 12 slots each) for 3.78g, less than 4 gold. Just a straight slot to price comparison, you would need to buy 4.5 20 slot bags (to replace the default bags) to get the same space without bag space expansions. That's 45g just to get the same 36 slots of bag space that <4g got you.

Basically, in short, 12 slot bags are 10x more cost efficient than 20 slot bags until you obviously get to the point that you can't buy any more bag space expansions (in which case you have already spent 4g on bags....but this would give you 104 bag slots total).

Personally, I don't think I'll buy anything larger than a 12 slot bag until I get all 3 bag space expansions.....even the 15 slot bags cost 50s just for the rune, and you would need 4 of them just to get as much space as a single bag space expansion + 12 slot bag (2+ gold for the 15 slot bags, or 1.26 gold for an extra space + 12 slot bag).

It is what it is. You're probably never going to need all 160 spaces or whatever it is you can get with the extra bag spaces and filling them up with 20 slot bags. The 20 slot bags are luxury items just like the T3 cultural armors are. Only people who are rich and want to flaunt (if only to themselves) that they've got money are going to have them. It's not that big of a deal, I think.

I went the route of buying more bag spaces instead of getting bigger bags, though. As you said it's the most cost effective way to get more space.

Agreed, I was posting this more to alert people, so they don't go buying larger bags and not notice (or really care) that they can buy more bag slots and don't know the kind of savings you can get from more bag slots. I too will be buying more bag slots but I only have 2 gold right now and am trying to find ways to make more (things to farm/craft, etc).

Small scales seem like a really good one to farm, currently cresting 2 silver per scale, and they are not exactly hard to farm just annoying (best place I can find is underwater), I did this for maybe 10-15 minutes last night and made something like 12 silver. Not super fast money, but I don't know any much better method currently (I am not yet level 80 so I have difficulties with the raspberry farm in frostgorge sound and only make about 10-15s for the ones I can get in both places right now before accounting for teleports).

Anyone know any better methods?

Anyone know any better methods?

can join or create any number of guilds,

create guild, represent till 500, purchase arcatecture, guild Stash, Vault

cost is 1 silver and its easy as sin to get guild rep

hit 22 last night, sold some crappy gear on the Trading Post, made about 10s. Decided to continue on with my story to try and level up and get some better gear. Farming all the nodes and Trees I can find, can't use the mats yet but will hopefully have plenty to use once I can.

    • Why? Does anybody actually want this? The constant need to close all browser sessions and wait for a new version to install, just so that there’s a integrated coupon manager feels like a waste of everyone’s time

    • Microsoft about to radically change how often your Edge browser updates by Paul Hill Microsoft has just announced that starting with Edge 152, it will be moving to a two-week release cycle for faster, smaller updates. This faster release cadence will begin on August 27. This change comes just several months after Microsoft switched Visual Studio Code to weekly updates. The company said that the Extended Stable releases will remain on an eight-week cycle and that no admin changes are needed to experience the faster release cycle on the Stable channel. The new two-week release cycle will enable the faster delivery of security updates and platform improvements, all while reducing the size and complexity of individual updates. Microsoft claims that organizations will benefit from this change as it offers predictable validation cycles. For organizations that prefer a “more deliberate pace”, the Extended Stable channel remains an option. This change will affect Edge Stable releases on Windows, macOS, Linux, and mobile. The Extended Stable channel will continue to be updated every eight weeks, or every fourth Stable release, for example: versions 152, 156, 160, and 164. The Extended Stable could be a good option for organizations that don’t want the latest updates twice a month and don’t want as much hassle constantly updating browsers. In the case of Visual Studio Code, many of the updates being pushed by Microsoft are AI-related. As we all know, Microsoft Edge has a lot of AI features, so we could see Microsoft pushing more AI, thanks to the faster cycles. On the flip side, quicker releases could mean faster security updates, which is beneficial in a world where AI systems are hunting for software exploits. What do you think? Let us know in the comments. For more updates on Edge, be sure to follow Neowin's coverage. In May alone, we reported on Edge offering in-browser pop-ups to assist users with website compatibility issues, that Edge was losing Copilot Mode, and that Microsoft had fixed a plain-text password bug in Edge. • not yet, because at the moment it is not a threat to MS, if and I mean if it did become a threat to MS Office, then it may be a different thing. MS don't like competition
