The reason is they do not have the password, they are just trying to sign in also i know my computer is clean because i do not do anything stupid and i run a VERY clean computer, i reformat frequently (most recently just 2 weeks ago) I dont look at porn, i dont look for pirated media, I run all sorts of protection while on the web. Its not an issue because i am paranoid about it and keep it clean.

Create a brand new e-mail address don't use it for anything but GW2 and a PW that is complex and lets see if they manage to do it again. If they do, we know it's your computer, if they don't. Congrats the security worked.

I'm using the same e-mail address I use for everything, but a unique password and I have zero e-mails about logins to my account and I do look at porn. :p

infections dont always come from porn or pirate sites, NYTimes, CNN, and even Neowin was dishing it up at least once

(Edit - site and forum issues, search for virus, most recent was last month, so it happens to everybody )

those blocks are AFTER they signed in, not before. Arena net has it set where it will alert you if it is not a known location. if they were emails asking to authorize that location, then they already have the password.

had to do the same thing on my account as i work in another state and first placed the game from VA, when i got home, i had to authorize my home IP address

if you sign into your account on the Guild wars 2 site, and go to " My Account < Security. do you see anything from china there ?

they could also be Scam email's trying to phish for your info

Yup:
If you see email authentication messages in your inbox asking you to approve a login that you didn't initiate and from someplace you don't recognize, that's a sign that a hacker knows your account name and password, and is only being prevented by the email authentication feature from accessing your account. You should immediately change your password to a new, unique password that you've never used anywhere else.

So basically, littleneutrino is saying his account name (email) and password has been "hacked" multiple times even though he keeps changing it. Despite what he says about his computer being virus free, I know Anet's server security is not bad enough that the hacker could steal a plaintext password from them. Even if that did happen, he wouldn't be the only one who keeps getting the messages.

littleneutrino, I suggest you pick a more secure password and set up a new email address just for GW2. But wait until you get the keylogger off your computer before you do.

no the only thing showing up there is the active connection to the website at the time of looking.

I am not really worried about people getting into my account I was simply advertising that it is still happening.

Also NO my account has NEVER been hacked. They have never actually signed in as me. There have just been multiple attempts at signing on.

Erlier you said they keep guessing your email, how are they figuring that out each time ? Thought you said Earlier you said they also guess your PW

Well if they are just attempting to gain access, unless they also have your email UID and Pass, they cant authorise the secondary protocols that will block it.

But it sounds like they are guessing your UID and PASS for GW2 ( and it sounds like they are ), then you have a logger on you computer and dont want to admit it, or your picking stupid passwords.

There is literally no other options that it could be, they are not activly and sucessfully hacking ArenaNet, if they were there would be ALOT more people with account issues as it would not be an easy hack due to having to bypass the IP Location block system

Also NO my account has NEVER been hacked. They have never actually signed in as me. There have just been multiple attempts at signing on.

If you are getting unauthorized logins (the email authentication message) then no, they are actually signing in as you, ArenaNet is stopping them from gaining access to your characters because they do not recognize the location....but if you are getting the email authentication then they are using the right email and password combination.

EDIT: In other words, if ArenaNet didn't check IP locations and block those it has not seen on your account, then yes, they would be signed in as you, using your account for gold advertisements.

So after taking my time over the past couple weeks, i've finally hit 80. Now to figure out how i'm going to manage to gather up 120g for that very nice human racial set, lol.

That's not taking your time to me. My main is level 16, although my PvP rank is higher than my character level I think, so we know where my time goes lol.

You can check to see how many hours you have on your characters by typing /age in game. I got maybe 105 hours on my main, only level 68 though. Closing to a finish, slowly but surely. :p

As easy as it is to get to 80 in this game. That is taking time.

I actually actively tried to not hit 80 in the last stretch, but it happened anyway. 60-80 was the fastest by far, especially 70-80. 1-60 is what takes some time.

Seems thief's are the first up for getting hit with the nerf bat.

And mission complete: full flame citadel armor with great sword, 1 handed sword, and axe. Don't ask how long it took.

<<SNIP>>

That looks flippin awesome!!

EDIT: Added a couple screen caps of my two main characters.

i have have just over 1600 Gems purchased all in game just a few more and i can upgrade to the digital deluxe edition without having to pay real money for it lol.

So much gold for a crappy elite skill and a mini pet.

Personally, I would use the gems for more bank space, bags spaces, or character spots before I got the digital deluxe.

Don't see why =/.

My warrior feels 10x more powerful than my thief.

Probably a PvP balance.....it sounds like it still does the same damage, but the enemies life needs to be lower before it does any damage. The thresholds for the damage range is all that changed. Before, anything under 33% life received full damage from Heartseeker, now they have to be under 25% life. Also pre-patch, anything over 66% life received the minimum damage heartseeker could do, now, anything over 50% life receives minimum heartseeker damage. Anything between that 33-66% (pre-patch) received the middle-ground damage while now it's anything between 25-50%.

But I do agree with you, I can see how my thief could be powerful, I do damage 10x faster than my warrior with similar gear. But when I don't have room to move around and evade (like every single jump puzzles that involve enemies), my warrior feels 10x stronger because I can mostly face-tank them and not have to dodge around on very small areas. It's like out in the open my thief feels more powerful, but the second you put him indoors my warrior outshines him by a ton. My warrior also tends to handle unwanted aggro better though (bumping into random enemies that I was unaware of). Not to say my thief can't handle it, but it feels more stable/safe on my warrior.

Unfortunately, my thief feels 10x more fun to play as well.

Maybe it is just me. I know the game is skill based, but I hate having to work ridiculously hard to take down 2 mobs at level 80 (in the Orr zone). 3 or more and I have to use every cooldown available, especially Thieves Guild, and I have to wait 5 minutes before I can do it again.

Just feels like the thief needs a bit more survivability, instead of avoidance mechanics.

Or maybe I will just stick to my warrior. Time will tell.

    • RevPDF 4.5.0 by Razvan Serea RevPDF is a free, fully offline PDF editor for Windows, macOS, and Linux that lets you edit text and images directly inside PDF files — no internet connection, no account, and no cloud uploads required. Unlike bloated alternatives that demand subscriptions and constant connectivity, RevPDF fits in under 60MB on desktop while delivering a complete editing toolkit: annotate, redact, sign, compress, split, merge, convert, and reorganize pages, all processed locally on your device. Smart font matching ensures edited text blends seamlessly with the original, and multi-language support includes RTL scripts such as Arabic and Hebrew. Where most PDF editors force you to choose between features and simplicity, RevPDF manages both. You can build interactive forms from scratch with text fields, checkboxes, and dropdowns, permanently redact sensitive data before sharing, draw freehand on contracts and diagrams, and add custom watermarks — all without a single file leaving your machine. Edit Text and Images Directly Inside PDFs RevPDF supports true inline PDF editing — not just annotation layers on top of a document, but actual modification of existing text and images within the file. A smart font-matching engine identifies the font used in the original document and applies it automatically when you make edits, so changes blend naturally with the surrounding content. You can reposition elements, resize images, and update text across single pages or entire documents. RevPDF 4.5.0 release notes: This is one of the biggest updates to RevPDF yet. A lot of things people have been asking for are finally here. New Features Auto Redaction Permanently redact sensitive text and areas from your PDFs before sharing. Clean, irreversible, and fully offline. Comments, Links & Bookmarks Add comments for review, insert clickable links, and create bookmarks to jump around long documents without scrolling forever. Find & Replace Search across the whole document and replace text in one go. Long overdue. Split Pages Vertically or Horizontally Split any page down the middle, vertically or horizontally. Perfect for scanned books or double-page spreads. New Drawing Tools More tools for freehand drawing and markup, better for annotations, sketches, and detailed notes. Continuous Scrolling in Editor The editor now scrolls continuously through pages instead of jumping between them. Working through long documents is a lot smoother now. PDF Metadata Editor View and edit the metadata stored inside your PDFs, including title, author, subject, and keywords. Better Font Matching Text edits now blend in more naturally by doing a better job of matching the original font. Tabbed PDF Viewer Open multiple PDFs at once in tabs and switch between them without going back to the home screen. Add Links Insert hyperlinks anywhere in your PDF, to external URLs or to other pages within the document. Share & Print Shortcuts Share or print directly from the editing screen, home screen, and viewer. No extra steps. Minor Updates Paste images directly from clipboard into your PDF New image editing tools for more control over images inside documents Bug Fixes Fixed file saving issues on Windows and Linux Everything still works fully offline. No login, no cloud, no account. Your files stay on your device. • Interesting. I'm not using a VPN with my phone. I tried though my home internet (Rogers) and my cellular internet (Telus) using their respective DNS servers and both trigger the dialog above.
