I don't know that having all professions easily maxed is the problem. The problem is there isn't enough items that are worth selling. Greens and blues are for the most part vendor trash and rares are salvaged for ectos.

Hopefully that changes a bit after next week when the magic find changes where we will get the magic find things from green (and maybe blue?) salvaged items.

The entire election if it can even be called that was heavily biased.

Kiel - some one we've been working with closely for quite a few months and a member of the most popular race, and female

vs

Evon Gnashblade - some one we don't know a lot about other than he "runs" the thing we all hate, the black lion market, and member of the most unpopular race, male

Outcome was pretty much expected. Only people who played GW1 would care about the Fall of Abbadon.

Yea, and being a gw1 player i would have preferred the Abbadon one over what looks to be.. more inquest.

Kiel's discount was also so laughably bad. Cause waypoint prices were already incredibly insignificant.

Yeah, certainly going to be the same asuran architecture we've been seeing for the last year. Abbadon would probably actually require new assists to be made.

Recently got back into the game but now I'm experiencing the MainCli.cpp corruption crash, get it about 4-5 times a day. They really need to fix it, tonnes of people on threads complaining and asking for an official comment on it but it's just going ignored. Apart from that really enjoying the game although I agree with everyone above me, the ability to have all professions maxed on one character easily is really making it hard to make any sort of money from it :(

Strange, haven't heard of that problem.

If it were that widespread it would have appeared on the guild wars 2 subreddit.

Just had a look on the forum and the only posting about it recently also has CRC errors on his SSD so..

If you use the forum search you can't find it but if you just google maincli.cpp you'll find plenty of people with the problem.

Do you have RAM that's faster than 1666Mhz?

Nope, my RAM is 1600Mhz, no errors on my hard drive, using the latest version of DirectX, still getting the problem after a re-install of Windows. Tried every suggestion I've seen but nothing seems to fix it :( Weird thing is that when I first played the game in November last year I had no problems at all, played it for a few months. When I re-installed it last month I started getting it straight away so assumed it was a new problem but there's threads about it from August last year. Same hardware and hadn't re-installed the OS since then, only thing I did differently was the first time I copied a friends installation so I could play ASAP where as this time I installed it off the disk and let it update, also uninstalled the game and downloaded it via the client but still got the same results. Going to get a friends files off of him and see if that fixes the problem, if it does that that's awesome but it would be very strange.

Ohh also I started using SweetFX a couple of days ago and haven't seen a crash since then, played it for maybe 8 hours since then but usually get the crash at least once an hour so I'm hoping somehow that's fixed it.

That's odd - if sweetFX fixes it then it could indicate the beginnings of a problem with your RAM - maybe running memtest overnight at some point would be worthwhile.

Never mind, it just crashed again :( I ran memtest when it first happened and everything was fine but I'll give it a go again. Been monitoring temps and stuff as well and everything is normal, less than I get with some other games. Upgrading my PC soon anyways, was saving up to get the PS4 and/or Xbone but I think I'll give this generation a miss, or at least wait a while to get feedback so going to build a new PC, hopefully after that it will work fine :)

So how do people who play regularly on here feel about ascended weapons?

Apparently there is a lot of controversy over them and people complaining that GW2 now has a gear treadmill. But I don't see it (yet). Only 1 new gear tier after a year which was desperately needed for some long term investment into armor and weapons was needed.

There are claims that anet said they would never add new gear tiers. But I don't recall them ever doing that.

Next thing they need to do is add some more dungeons with an entire new sets of unique armor and weapons.

I don't know what they are so this comment is obviously excellent and worth everyones time  :D

Level 67.  Is there even anything worth spending money on in the game?  I haven't felt the need to even buy one piece of armor outside of the karma sets.

Leveling up on my Charr I bought each tier of the cultural armor but that was just because it looked really good :P I mainly spent my money on mats at 80 to do crafting. I've only had an 80 for two weeks though and I'm only just starting to look into legendaries and stuff. Made an ele and having too much fun on it atm to do much on my 80 warrior... so yeah same as you my comment was very worthwhile reading :P

I would say save your money for 80. Then use it to buy weapons/armor and work on crafting professions.

Seems like they're a big pain in the ass to craft and it might be faster to farm for a drop(or buy if not account bound).

And i can see what some people are complaining about when they bring up the treadmill. Since like other games with the treadmill, you need to follow it to remain competitive(especially in wvw).

Well there isn't a treadmill. Yet. Besides that there isn't a single piece of content besides high level (20+) fractals that require ascended gear. And you don't need it for the stats but the agony resistance.

LFG tool coming September 17th

X1I7OUS.jpg

While it's nice and all it seems like such a basic thing that should have been in the game from the start. It seems that the new LFG tool supports party merging which is excellent.

Tequatl the sunless getting a revamp in mechanics and loot drops next week too. Apparently all the mega world bosses are going to get a revamp, eventually.

P.S. You can watch the new Tequatl fight and see the LFG tool here..

http://www.twitch.tv/guildwars2/b/454437568

Starts at around 45-50 minutes.

You don't need this stuff for anything other than Fractals, which is a bit of a niche thing, or appearance.

This isn't going to make a difference in WvW battles, at all.

I'm sure you wont think that once you get beaten by someone simply cause they have the full set of ascendeds and you're still full exotic. Cause remember. ascendeds offer more than just agony resistance.

An lfg tool, it's about time.

As for the world boss changes. On one hand i like that they'll be a bit less easy. But i also kinda like how they are now since they're very easy money due to how many rares you can quickly pile up with minimal effort.

The only way you know you just lost to some one with ascended gear in wvw is if:

1) you know them

or

2) they tell you

Not one single person since ascended has been put in the game has made a legit complaint that they've been killed because the other person has ascended and they don't. It'll be slightly more obvious with ascended weapons, but then again, they can be transmuted, so you won't know 100% of the time. And even then, they aren't so much better that skill won't overcome the slight stat increase.

And we've also only had accessories until now and not the full set like what is coming. If ascended weapons follow the damage difference we seen from rare -> exotic weapons, a person with an ascended weapon alone will hit a good bit harder than one with an exotic. Assuming two people in a fight are of similar skill and such, it'll take the ascended wielding guy making a BIG mistake for the exotic one to win. Simply cause the ascended wielding guy does more damage by default. And that's not accounting for the difference in the other stats aside from weapon damage.

While that may be true to some extent all I have to counter it is the fact that wvw is not meant to be balanced. When you can have a guy decked out in the best gear possible vs a guy who is only level 2 who doesn't even have a full set of whites/blues.

The guy who is up leveled in whites and blues would lose to a level 80 who was only in rares pretty much every time. What difference would a  maybe 3% increase in over all stats make in that situation?

That's why it doesn't bother me.

    • YouTube has finally brought back its DMs feature, but only in these countries by David Uzondu Late last year, YouTube started testing a "new" way to share videos directly with friends, without having to leave the app. Now, the video giant has announced that is now rolling out a revamped direct messaging inbox, which lets you share videos, Shorts, and live streams and have conversations about them, directly on YouTube. The platform limits this feature to 18+ users who are signed in to a verified channel and use the latest mobile app version. Direct messaging on YouTube first became a thing back in 2017 inside the mobile app (later renamed to "Messages"), where users could chat one-on-one and share clips directly, but all that came to an end on September 18, 2019, when Google decided to shut it down after giving users a month to download a .zip file archive of their past chats. No one really knows why YouTube killed the feature, but users were encouraged to migrate to the public Comments section, on Community tab posts, and via YouTube Stories. The previous incarnation suffered from moderation challenges, prompting Google to implement stricter safety guidelines and age verifications for this new iteration. Here's a list of the countries where the re-launched feature is currently available, though note that Brand Accounts do not have access to it, at least for now: Countries American Samoa Austria Belgium Brazil Bulgaria Croatia Cyprus Czech Republic Denmark Estonia Finland France Germany Greece Guam Hungary Iceland Ireland Italy Latvia Liechtenstein Lithuania Luxembourg Malta Netherlands Northern Mariana Islands Norway Poland Portugal Puerto Rico Romania Singapore Slovakia Slovenia Spain Sweden Switzerland U.S. Virgin Islands United Kingdom United States Before you can use the feature, you first have to send an invite link to your contact. Invite links expire exactly seven days after you create them. If the person on the other end accepts the invite, you can exchange videos directly and text back and forth inside the app. To delete a message, just long-press on the message and tap unsend to remove it for both users. You can also delete entire conversations by long-pressing the thread and selecting delete, but the other person will continue to see the chat history on their end. To make sure everything remains safe, YouTube monitors these messages to ensure they follow Community Guidelines.
    • The problem of course is simply that government does not always know best. My point is that agency is taken away from the EU consumer in these cases. I'm sorry, but I do not believe that governments (politicians) are inherently good, and "looking out for me." Primarily they look to themselves and their own personal desires first, foremost, and always. When the EU or the DOJ fines these companies, claiming to "represent the welfare of the consumer," how much of these billion-dollar judgments are handed to the consumers they claim to represent? Not even a dollar, as I've seen. Yet the EUC lawyers who are paid to sit around and dream up these suits make huge commissions on the fines the EUC adjudicates, which is an ironclad fact I hope everyone is aware of. It's also rank corruption, of course, but that's another topic. Last, when the EU inflicts these judgments, or the DOJ, take your pick, the costs are bundled right along in the cost of the goods and services these companies provide the consumers they are "looking out for." If you are someone who believes his government is his savior then you have my condolences. I think Apple is right here, because the whole scheme of consumer choice is that consumers pick and choose among the products companies offer. Microsoft Windows is more compatible with third party software and hardware than any desktop OS on Earth, which is my sole reason for choosing it. Just because the EUC forces companies do certain things it knows the companies do not want to do, "or else", has no bearing on consumer benefit. This Siri thing is almost idiotic it's so infantile. But this is what the EUC does when the EU in Brussels becomes cash-strapped and needs a big infusion of cash. Some people get upset by "big companies" but it's the opposite when governments dwarf the size and scope of these companies, which is so obvious it hurts.... I mean you can't honestly believe that forcing Apple to do things with Siri it has its own reasons to decline is something that "opens up" Apple, do you? Say it aint' so...
    • Looks like many years since the request was made, a directory tree view finally may be added. https://github.com/files-community/Files/pull/18537
    • Is it still super slow or has it improved on that area?
    • There's this from last year https://gist.github.com/threat...364659a8887841aa43deca4efd9 but nothing about a buffer overflow that MS somehow can't code against. No matter what, it makes sense to take a "protected by default" approach.
