Hope they fix the database bug soon, can't create new characters or buy/sell on the TP atm. My friend just bought the game and can't play, luckily he's very understanding so he's not wanting a refund :P

Eh?  As of yesterday I can usually sell if I close the window and try again.

It just happened today, not sure when but must have been after midday GMT, if you tried to buy it said that no items matched your order and if you tried to sell it said you had to upgrade your account from a trial. I thought it was just me but it was all anyone was talking about in Lion's Arch! Might be fixed now, just going back on.

So ascended weapons will technically be out some time within the next 12 to 24 hours. Who is excited?

Oh yeah, and that Super Adventure Box thing, too. Woo.

I looked up lame in the dictionary and it mentioned that

but what the hell eh still enjoying the main game  :)

So it appears the ascended skins aren't that great: http://dulfy.net/2013/09/03/gw2-ascended-weapon-skins-gallery/

I really like the shield. Beyond that the axe, the main weapon I use on my warrior, looks like a toy. Very disappointing. Everything else looks good especially the pistols.  I guess I'll resume my quest to make Frostfang.

Anyhow, I figure I'll have my first ascended weapon within 5 days. Maybe as quickly as 3 depending on how well I can get dragonite.

Edit: I miscounted. It might take a manimum of 6 days.

And if anyone is wanting to collect their own orichalcum and acient logs try these 2 websites for maps:

www.orrmaps.com

www.gw2nodes.com

They are community driven.

And a handy website that has an even more handy overly is

www.gw2stuff.com

This will tell you the timer on the temples and all the world bosses for all EU and NA servers. This one is using the GW2 api so it's taking it's information directly from the game servers. So you should be able to consider it accurate up to a few seconds.

Also the overlay from that site has no actual interaction with your game client so you don't need to worry about getting banned for using it.

Yea, gw2stuff is pretty good, been using it for months. The actual accuracy between server and site i'd say is about 20-30 seconds though. As for their overlay, eh, i don't use it. But that's because i always start the game via steam and as such i just use the steam web browser

Next weeks update. Highlight looks to be the LFG tool we already knew about.

And a lot of the open world bosses are getting redone. Which should be interesting considering the recent new reasons to go after them.

Eh, i find that bit harder to be excited about as i know how bad the average player is(simply getting out of death circles is too hard for many). Their general badness will translate into less loot, and less money.

So i am disappointed by how they were apparently unable to deliver the lfg tool on time.

They did deliver it. Just not to everyone. I can understand why they are doing it the way they are. They don't want a repeat of the market from the first 2 months after the games release. I think most of us blocked that horrible experience from memory.

I am however disappointed that I didn't get access to it. I was hoping they would give priority access to people with older accounts. Specifically people who had head start accounts. I don't see anything wrong with them doing that.

Then they didn't deliver it. We were initially told to expect a usable lfg tool on the 17th on the release preview page. Not to expect an unfinished beta for the 'privileged few' that will be open for everyone 'when the feel like it' like they later decided to turn around and say. The fact that they couldn't finish it, and are clearly unprepared for people to use it when they are over a year late in delivering this(it should've been there at launch) is ridiculous.

So went on to play last night and it came up with the e-mail verification so went onto my e-mail but there was nothing there, gave it 10 mins or so but still didn't receive one so thought I'd go on the forums only to realise that it requires the authentication as well. Scouted around a bit and found a way to reset your password or remove the authentication so followed the link on the knowledge base, entered my details and was presented with this.

As you can see I can't click the button to disable the authentication so thought I'd try the password reset just to see if I could get that e-mail at least... nope.  So I sent an e-mail asking for help with it but still haven't heard back from them, was just wondering if anyone had any ideas?

Ohh also I've checked my spam and I'm using live mail.

So it seems like next week is just a new path in Twilight arbor and.... not much else. But i guess that's better than the new pointless tequatl and its 90+% fail rate.

I hear that. I gave up after 4 tries on him. So many issues make it not even worth the effort. And then when you finally do manage to kill him.. greens and blues.

I'm super excited for reskinned weapons that no one uses though. Sign me up for some of that.

Free trial going on from September 27th until October 3rd. It's the longest trial period they've done yet. This trial kind of snuck in under the radar. I remember reading about it last week but I thought it was a bit further down the road.

Get your friends who still haven't tried the game to sign up here!

    • YouTube has finally brought back its DMs feature, but only in these countries by David Uzondu Late last year, YouTube started testing a "new" way to share videos directly with friends, without having to leave the app. Now, the video giant has announced that is now rolling out a revamped direct messaging inbox, which lets you share videos, Shorts, and live streams and have conversations about them, directly on YouTube. The platform limits this feature to 18+ users who are signed in to a verified channel and use the latest mobile app version. Direct messaging on YouTube first became a thing back in 2017 inside the mobile app (later renamed to "Messages"), where users could chat one-on-one and share clips directly, but all that came to an end on September 18, 2019, when Google decided to shut it down after giving users a month to download a .zip file archive of their past chats. No one really knows why YouTube killed the feature, but users were encouraged to migrate to the public Comments section, on Community tab posts, and via YouTube Stories. The previous incarnation suffered from moderation challenges, prompting Google to implement stricter safety guidelines and age verifications for this new iteration. Here's a list of the countries where the re-launched feature is currently available, though note that Brand Accounts do not have access to it, at least for now: Countries American Samoa Austria Belgium Brazil Bulgaria Croatia Cyprus Czech Republic Denmark Estonia Finland France Germany Greece Guam Hungary Iceland Ireland Italy Latvia Liechtenstein Lithuania Luxembourg Malta Netherlands Northern Mariana Islands Norway Poland Portugal Puerto Rico Romania Singapore Slovakia Slovenia Spain Sweden Switzerland U.S. Virgin Islands United Kingdom United States Before you can use the feature, you first have to send an invite link to your contact. Invite links expire exactly seven days after you create them. If the person on the other end accepts the invite, you can exchange videos directly and text back and forth inside the app. To delete a message, just long-press on the message and tap unsend to remove it for both users. You can also delete entire conversations by long-pressing the thread and selecting delete, but the other person will continue to see the chat history on their end. To make sure everything remains safe, YouTube monitors these messages to ensure they follow Community Guidelines.
    • The problem of course is simply that government does not always know best. My point is that agency is taken away from the EU consumer in these cases. I'm sorry, but I do not believe that governments (politicians) are inherently good, and "looking out for me." Primarily they look to themselves and their own personal desires first, foremost, and always. When the EU or the DOJ fines these companies, claiming to "represent the welfare of the consumer," how much of these billion-dollar judgments are handed to the consumers they claim to represent? Not even a dollar, as I've seen. Yet the EUC lawyers who are paid to sit around and dream up these suits make huge commissions on the fines the EUC adjudicates, which is an ironclad fact I hope everyone is aware of. It's also rank corruption, of course, but that's another topic. Last, when the EU inflicts these judgments, or the DOJ, take your pick, the costs are bundled right along in the cost of the goods and services these companies provide the consumers they are "looking out for." If you are someone who believes his government is his savior then you have my condolences. I think Apple is right here, because the whole scheme of consumer choice is that consumers pick and choose among the products companies offer. Microsoft Windows is more compatible with third party software and hardware than any desktop OS on Earth, which is my sole reason for choosing it. Just because the EUC forces companies do certain things it knows the companies do not want to do, "or else", has no bearing on consumer benefit. This Siri thing is almost idiotic it's so infantile. But this is what the EUC does when the EU in Brussels becomes cash-strapped and needs a big infusion of cash. Some people get upset by "big companies" but it's the opposite when governments dwarf the size and scope of these companies, which is so obvious it hurts.... I mean you can't honestly believe that forcing Apple to do things with Siri it has its own reasons to decline is something that "opens up" Apple, do you? Say it aint' so...
    • Looks like many years since the request was made, a directory tree view finally may be added. https://github.com/files-community/Files/pull/18537
    • Is it still super slow or has it improved on that area?
    • There's this from last year https://gist.github.com/threat...364659a8887841aa43deca4efd9 but nothing about a buffer overflow that MS somehow can't code against. No matter what, it makes sense to take a "protected by default" approach.
