The story is very detailed, I don't often play games over a 2nd or 3rd time but with infinite it's worth not rushing and trying to find all the voxiphones at least as they expand the story and give you much needed details that make sense when you're done.  As for the ending itself, I thought it was pretty straight forward, or maybe I've read and watched enough scifi that it didn't seem complicated to me.

As has been pointed out though there are enough hints/clues right from the start that if you've played it once you pick up on the 2nd and 3rd time.  Like at the first scene where the guy tells the girl that "he DOESN'T" row.  heh, those little details are such nice touches.

Anyways I can't wait for the two part story driven DLC, that trailer has my mind racing with ideas about what might be going on.  Oh and older Elizabeth is <3.

The game was OK... not as bad as I thought it would be, the ending was just plain bad, [spoiler\] this is not the only attempt that I have seen on a game trying to use multiverse [\spoiler], I actually played the game very fast and did every single thing it was possible to do on the game, considering I tend to explore every single part of the world since I'm an old school RPG gamer. Difficulty was set on normal though. I certainly think that the whole Bioshock series is a bit overrated, but at least I liked the effort put onto the game to create an FPS where there is LIGHT (feels so much different from dark themed FPS). I obtained the game thanks to the AMD never settle reloaded bundle and played it mainly by the girl... and yet even at that the ending dissapointed.

Played through the DLC. Fun at first but the battles are heavily scripted. NPCs spawn in the same places, and there's no variety in either the waves or the challenges. Arena play is better when it's completely random, and whilst this was fun at first it got boring quickly because of the lack of variety. Hoping for more from the Rapture DLC however

Yeah, I simply don't understand why they thought this was worthwhile DLC. I don't know anyone who plays a BioShock game for this kind of content. The second and third DLC sets look amazing, however.

Just finished it.  Can't say much without major spoilers, but it's Infinite gameplay in a Rapture world -- You have plasmids that use Eve, but the Eve comes in the Salts blue bottles.  You still have your shield, and I even found an Infusion.  And the plasmids are all Infinite -- Devil's Kiss, Shock Jockey, etc.

Oh, and you fight a Big Daddy.  And get a big face-full of Sander Cohen.

The DLC is broken.  Get stuck back tracking through a securis airlock after finding shock jockey.  Loading save does not fix.  The splicers spawns are quite annoying too.

I never had an issue.

I take that back, there were some random loading moments in gameplay that didn't occur during the main campaign, but nothing gamebreaking.

The backtracking annoyed me as well, it's a bit of a shame that you only got a few minutes of the beautiful rapture before you were back in the destroyed / failed utopia theme, but I will wait for part 2 before making my comments.

Also, did anyone else find it much shorter than the 3-5 hours promised? I completed it in about 80 minutes and that included some searching?

Maybe it's 3 - 5 hours total?  I think it took me almost 2, but again, I was doing some searching for audio recordings

The whole backtracking thing is right from the original Bioshock.   Unless I'm remembering it wrong because it's been so long but you had to backtrack quite a bit in it to find what you need to to get to the next area.   I don't know how long it took me, probably 2 hrs as well on Normal and trying to find as much as I could.   I know for sure I didn't though because there was a few things I couldn't get to either because I didn't have enough lock picks or the right plasmid or w/e.     Still I wanted to play this for the story, and OMG that ending.  The signs are there from the beginning but you only notice them after it's done.    Just wrong.

I finally got this game for Christmas and finished it today (got my Xbox One while I the middle of the game and it got sidelined for a while) and the hype around it and everything I've heard is well deserved (not that I had any concerns to begin with).  I played on Normal and found it to be pretty easy up until probably Emporia Towers and on, but as with the previous Bioshock games, the story and the art made it.  You kinda just want to wander around Columbia for a while.  I'll probably pick up some of the DLC when they're on sale (I've seen them on sale a few times in the last few months).

    • KillerPDF 1.5.1 by Razvan Serea KillerPDF is a lightweight, portable PDF editor for Windows built for users who want full control without subscriptions, installers, or telemetry. It runs as a single executable, making it ideal for USB use and field work. You can view PDFs with smooth PDFium rendering, navigate quickly with thumbnails, zoom, and shortcuts, and reorganize pages using drag-and-drop. It supports merging multiple PDFs, splitting documents, and extracting selected pages. KillerPDF also allows inline text editing with font matching to preserve the original layout, plus annotations like text boxes, freehand drawing, highlights, and reusable signatures. You can search full text, copy content easily, and print documents with flattened annotations. Designed as a free and open alternative to bloated PDF tools, it works fully offline on Windows 10/11 x64. No runtimes install. Everything needed is inside the EXE (targets .NET Framework 4.8, which ships with every supported Windows release). KillerPDF key features: High-quality PDF rendering via PDFium Edit PDF text inline (double-click to modify text) Page thumbnails and fast navigation with zoom and shortcuts Merge multiple PDFs into one Split PDFs and extract selected pages Drag-and-drop page reordering Font matching to preserve original document appearance Text boxes for notes Freehand drawing tools Highlight overlays with adjustable color, size, opacity Undo actions and clear per-page annotations Create, draw, and save reusable signatures Click-to-place signatures anywhere Full-text search with highlighted results Drag-select or Ctrl+A to copy text Print with annotations flattened Portable single-file app (~10 MB) No installer, no admin rights required No account, no telemetry KillerPDF 1.5.1 changelog: Performance Save Flattened PDF now uses multiple CPU cores. Page rasterization is parallelized (PNG encoding runs across cores; the PDFium render step stays serialized since the library isn't thread-safe), so large documents flatten significantly faster while the UI stays responsive (#68). Fixed PDFs that failed to open with "Unexpected EOF" now open (#72). The failure was PdfSharpCore's Flate inflater (SharpZipLib) rejecting the FlateDecode cross-reference stream on multi-revision PDFs - files that open fine in browsers, Acrobat, and Foxit. KillerPDF now detects this and re-opens the file losslessly through PDFium, preserving selectable text. Thanks to @javajon for the report and a detailed reproduction. Grid view renders every page. It was capped at the first 26 pages, so longer documents stopped loading partway through. Tiles also stream in progressively now instead of blocking until the whole document is rendered. Grid Ctrl+Scroll no longer reloads every page when the zoom is already at its limit and nothing would change. Removed a stray horizontal scrollbar (a thin green line) that could appear across the bottom of grid view. Files on UNC / network shares (including the WSL \\wsl$ filesystem) are copied locally before opening, avoiding partial-read failures on network filesystems. Changed Minimum zoom lowered from 10% to 5%, so grid view can pack more columns (helpful for wide/landscape pages) and single-page view can zoom out further.
