YouTube Stars Making $100,000 Plus Per Year

How much views a video needs in order to start getting money from youtube? Is it like an option to turn on in the youtube account for payed ads or something?

(Not changing professions just yet, I'm just curious ;) )

The current partner requirements are pretty much joke. Nowdays anyone can be a partner if the want to and it leads to the annoying "look at my channel / shoutout me" comments in the videos and PMs.

Anyways, you just need 1,300 subs, channel clean from copyrighted content and some views. After you have done that you get contacted, agreement and then you can add AdSense ads boxes to the video pages and earn tiny amount of money. If you get a lot of views, you get more.

Alternatively, if you are bad big boy, you could just become blackhat seo and build sites with just Ads on them, linkfarms and get 10x more as you can get way more views with less of a work ;)

Where are you getting your information? That's not true at all. They made it a lot harder to become a partner now days. They have no set requirement for the amount of subs you need to become a partner or anything.

Darn, need to have a clean youtube record / without copyright infringement? Guess my idea is out. I wanted to become internet-famous by doing covers of songs and voice acting for anime similar to that of LittleKuriboh and TeamFourStar.

Meh, I'll do it anyway.

I know many people who do covers to songs. Or, what you could do is do covers of songs that are popular that way you get a lot of views, and when you apply for partnership just private all the videos with copy written material.

Oh, I see. Didn't realize you'd still get a partner request. I don't plan on starting the project for a while, though. For now I just upload piano / instrumental covers/remixes like every half a year... :p

You don't get partner request, you have to apply. If a video of yours starts getting a lot of views very fast then they will automatically send you a request to put ad revenue on JUST that one video, but to get ads on all of your videos you have to apply.

I've been dancing in my underwear on YouTube for years, and I've only made $7.

And they said that youtube isn't making money... Yeah right.

Are you saying that Google is lying in their financial statements filed with the government, and in all their interaction with the media? Quite the conspiracy you're suggesting. I think there's a separate forum section for that. Reality is probably simpler. Google made $2bn overall in the first three months this year, so they can afford to spend money on things they believe are important to their long term strategies.

Looks like Theoretical Internet Money is now turning into Real Money.

Dramatic Chipmunk and Chocolate Rain boy would have been so rich

Chocolate rain boy as in the guy who sang that song with the deep voice? He is rich. haha. TayZonday on Youtube.

    • Apple CEO Tim Cook confirms looming price hikes due to memory shortages by Hamid Ganji Image via Apple Memory and chip shortages have led to significant price increases for electronics over the past year, and it seems that more hikes are on the way for upcoming smartphones and computers. Apple CEO Tim Cook has confirmed that the company is planning to increase the prices of some of its products due to the ongoing memory and storage shortages. In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Cook confirmed the looming price hikes for Apple’s future products, adding that “Unfortunately, price increases are unavoidable.” He also said the company is doing its best to “mitigate the huge increases that are being passed to us, and we’ve been trying to shield our customers from the increases, but the situation has become unsustainable.” The Apple CEO also noted that the allocation of a large portion of memory chips to AI companies has contributed to shortages in the market, resulting in lower supply at a time when demand for devices remains high. “We definitely need memory pricing and supply to return to reasonable levels for consumer products. That’s the bottom line,” Cook said. Cook also added that Apple is ready to use its vast cash reserves to help boost supply in the market because additional production capacity is needed. While he declined to specify how Apple plans to do that, he said the company will not build its own memory and storage factories despite its financial resources and silicon expertise. Cook did not provide further details on the scale of the price increases or which Apple products would be affected, though iPads and Macs could see higher prices sooner than other products. Apple’s next product launch event is scheduled for September, when the company is expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and its first foldable iPhone. It remains unclear whether the upcoming iPhones will be affected by the price increases, but given the current memory shortage, higher prices seem increasingly likely. There is currently no clear timeline for the end of the memory shortage. Samsung, one of the world’s three largest memory chip manufacturers, recently said the shortage could persist for several more years.
    • Downloads does not equal actual usage, even less when the app is pre-installed in some Galaxy phones.
    • +1000 to this, don't understand why they added that margin around the top bar, even the close button is a PITA to click without aiming. Ofc, this is just preview and hopefully they will revert such odd UX decision before hitting final version.
    • so the people who bought this will get a refund?
