It is? I never noticed it before but that could possibly be why my laptop lags on it every now and then....

EDIT: My mine is 122 blocks long, dropping down by 1 every 2 blocks (except for the last two as the very bottom of the mine is 4 blocks long) making it 60 blocks deep. As every section of 2 blocks long is dug out at 7 blocks high (including the lava ceiling) and 7 blocks wide, thats 60 sections that were 2x7x7 of removed material (excluding some missing stone), which comes to a total of nearly 6000 removed blocks of mostly stone. I would say its probably closer to 5500 due to some areas naturally missing stone that I did not have to dig out, but I also had to place a lot of stone (maybe around 500 total) and ~700 glass after digging everything out to get the ceiling the way I wanted it. Took 4 days but I finally got it done, now to actually make it functional by adding a minecart system, even in a cart under its own momentum (with me in it) it takes ~15 seconds to travel to the bottom....

Here is how effective lava lighting is (taken after I finished it the other day)....

Not a single torch inside the mineshaft at all. The only torches I have are on the outside of the mine lighting up the entrance a bit.

I also am no longer using that texture pack because, despite loving all but 2 textures, the lava and water are not animated so its almost impossible to tell where a water current is without letting the water drag you around....and with that texture pack, half-blocks of water (such as when the water flows a long distance without dropping down any blocks) show up as full blocks, so it can be hard to tell where the source of a water spring is.

Yeah, any texture pack that isn't the native res breaks animation.

I saw this one linked via somebody talking to Notch on twitter, it looks like nice and it's the native res, so it still animates.

Using that now. This is very, very nice.

Yes, yes it is.....everything seems slightly darker, but it all looks so much better than default IMO. And the animation works so you can see the direction of water flows and what not.

I just finished building a reciprocating boat entrance to my mine. I dug the very bottom out some more, nearly filled it with lava (dug into a lava pit, barely saved it by filling the overflow with lava quickly), but found a good source of lava (removed 3 buckets from 1 square and it seemed like I could still remove more). Anyway, my boat entrance, it takes about 6 seconds to get down (you freefall in the boat down to the bottom of the mine) and about 7 seconds to get back to the top from the bottom, beats 15 seconds that my minecart takes either direction. Only problem is its far away from the mine entrance and I have nothing built around it yet (though that could change quickly), but its a quick way to the bottom of my mine or out of my mine for later expansion. I also added a minecart booster to my minecart (so I can get out from the bottom by minecart) into the side of the mine wall. Still want to improve my minecart system but I need to build out the bottom of the mine a bit so I have room to work.

Restarted my router. Added port rules to windows firewall and restarted server.

Link is the same.

Playing under 'purches' only just noticed this thread on here. I play on another server mainly. If it gets up enough of a crowd here but I will set up a dedicated :)

I went on the server and I don't know what to do. :p What should I be doing for you multi-player people?

Edit: We so should have a Spleef arena! :D

Spleef is a competitive sport within Minecraft in which the goal is to be the last player standing. The name is a pun of the word grief.

    • Alien Isolation 2 will bring a new protagonist and setting, watch the reveal trailer here by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Only a few weeks ago, Sega and Creative Assembly dropped a teaser for a new Alien Isolation. Today at Summer Game Fest, Alien: Isolation 2 was officially announced with a new trailer while also confirming a whole lot of information about the setting of this survival horror project. Check out the reveal trailer above. Leaving behind the Sevastopol space station, the sequel will take players to a remote colony world. With a Xenomorph (or more) on the loose, players will be navigating both the surface of the weather-ravaged planet as well as "the claustrophobic confines of the Weyland-Yutani outpost of Kurosaki Station." Interestingly, Creative Assembly is leaving behind Amanda Ripley, the daughter of Alien's Ellen Ripley, as the protagonist too. While it hasn't confirmed a name yet, players will be taking the role of a new character for this new adventure. The setting is also being described as a new hunting ground for the Alien. This will have players improvising and developing new tools to aid in their survival and escape, all to avoid "cinema’s deadliest killer." "It has been over a decade since we created the original Alien: Isolation and I am so excited to show everyone the first glimpse of the sequel," says Al Hope, Creative Director at Creative Assembly. "Our dedicated Survival team at Creative Assembly has been working hard to create a new, evolved Isolation experience continuing the legacy of the Alien franchise, making the eponymous killer smarter, the environment harsher and the chance of survival slimmer." Promising the same deadly tension from the original from over a decade ago, Alien: Isolation 2 is in development for PC, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PlayStation 5. A release date has not been announced yet.
    • With how far Tim Apple's head has been up Trump's ass, there's no way this was done reluctantly.
    • Like the article stated, it's written completely from scratch, unlike the umpteen Chromium clones. It got its start as the browser built-in to the also written-from-scratch SerenityOS.
    • Hello, From looking at the screen shots in your motherboard's manual at https://endownload.colorful.cn/EnDownload/MotherBroard/2022/Intel 600/Manual/Intel 600 Series BIOS English/Intel 600 Series BIOS User Guide.pdf, you go to the ADVANCED option at the top of the BIOS (UEFI) menu, then select SECURITY in the list of options on the left.  From there  you can enable and set the Secure Boot mode.
