logs work too

Coal is the most efficient, but also the most difficult to get (as its not replenish-able, at least not easily). 8 pieces of coal can smelt an entire stack of anything, whereas it takes 42 logs (and then part of the 43rd) to smelt a full stack of things using logs.

You can actually use Planks, Logs, Workbenches and Chests as fuel, they all last the same duration, coal lasts much longer, sticks have a shorter duration, and Lava (in a bucket) has a MUCH longer duration than even coal, but it consumes the bucket as well (it can smelt 100 blocks if you switch them out fast enough, but it consumes the lava and the bucket).

Well this is interesting..

I Just got an email:

I don't have any viruses on my computer, and I sure as hell didn't send a request..

So.... What the hell is going on?

Dont panic i do that all the time, i try to register and it says name in use so i cant remember wether i signed up or not so i use pass reset just in case.

  • 2 weeks later...

It's just greater incentive to make lava lights throughout my housey laugh.gif

Thats how I lit my mine, lava ceiling (from bottom up, glass, lava, stone). So I won't have many torches to replace (none if they are all converted into lanterns) at all, only maybe 20 or so throughout my mining rooms I haven't lit with lava yet. But, I have sort of given MineCraft a back seat, its a fun game I just have too many other things going on (Games to play with a friend, watching the entire Bleach anime, keeping up with Chuck and SG:U online the day after they air on TV, TF2 in my little spare time that my friends aren't around, etc) so it will probably be a few more weeks minimum before I pick up MineCraft again.

Glad to see Biomes finally done (or will be, at least) finally we can have a frozen tundra around a nice green summer plot of land that smoothly transitions into a desert on the other side. Though I will have to either move away from my awesome mine and castle in progress, or start a new map (also away from both) to see any of it. Though I never traveled very far west of my base, so I could probably generate some Biomes down that way if I want. The watch will also be nice, be able to tell what time it is before emerging from my mine to pitch black outside......best time to mine is at night IMO, will finally know when I can surface to put my stone to use.

I saw a video someone linked me to of a ALU done in it. I could only say I don't see the point in the game...

But other people enjoy it so that's why we have a free market economy :)

My PC would have serious troubles running this (and pretty much all post-2005 games) so I think I'll pre-purchase and just wait.

I don't really see the point in the game either at this stage, but the fun is in the exploration and building. The site (or is it the Wiki?) says that there will be an end goal added to one mode eventually, which is cool.

In that case I'll make my buying decision when it is released. It seems odd to buy it before it is complete so I can't fully evaluate it.

    • The consumer ESU is ending in 4 months. LTSC isn't now, never has been, and never will be for consumer use, it is for OT usage - plant machinery, medical devices, manufacturing equipment etc. LTSC requires a Microsoft EA. You can't legally obtain LTSC to run on your PC at home.
    • Hmm actually looks decently interesting!
    • Being on GitHub doesn't make something safe. Like any unofficial scripts to do x or y this caters to people with just enough knowledge to be dangerous. If you want to do what this does, and you actually know what you're doing then write your own script (or maybe just add the reg keys yourself) if you don't have the ability to read and understand what a script is doing, and especially don't run it with elevated privileges. Or in this case just use an MSA, sign up the normal route, and stop trying to push water up hill
