Connecting a Third Monitor

So you're suggesting I get 2 of those? I think it'll be better if I just get 1 eyefinity card, right?

you only need one 5770.

Yes as we don't know if you have another x16 PCI-e slot to have two card.

So a card with two DVI ports with a DisplayPort like thats one:

with a DisplayPort to DVI Cable.

To give you three DVI monitors.

that configuration will work too for his purposes.

Yes I've already stated that I have a free PCI-E slot.

Yea I know I only need 1 eyefinity. I was referring to the card chadlachlanross mentioned.

So about my CPU, do you think it'll be an issue even if I upgrade to an Eyefinity card?

my bad.

not for what you want to use it for.

use media player classic to play back videos with hardware(gpu) acceleration. unless you want to use a remote for some reason it's the best video player out these days imho.

Hey, I just got some new info. Some people are saying that I need a card with h.264 acceleration for 1080p playback. Does the 5770 have that? It doesn't say on the description page. Also, some people are saying that my XFX 7800 is good for gaming. So it'll great if the 5770 is better than mine in gaming as well. Even though I don't play games much, I still don't want to downgrade in that area. But I'm sure the 5770 is better than my 7800 for gaming, right?

Yes, the HD5770 is great for HD playback (including Flash h.264). The HD 5770 is significantly better than your 7800.

Thank you guys so much! I think I'm going to pick up a 5770 this week.

Last question: When I purchase the 5770, do I completely replace the 7800 with it? Or can I just put it in my second PCI-E slot and let them work together for an even better performance?
